Listen to a prior Bills o lineman , John Fina , prior left tackle with Kelly , Ruben brown etc. His pod cast on YouTube off tackle with Fina and Joe Miller is great on Monday nights on YouTube. He feels the technique is terrible , they are rarely given the chance to run block. And he thinks the vision of the backs is questionable. So it’s a perspective thing. I don’t think the line is all that terrible, it’s not great, but all those guys aren’t terrible either. It wasn’t the year before but the backs still were unimpressive. I do think motor has worked to improve but he is no Harris! You willl not improve the o with rookie guards and guards are rarely drafted in the first as they are not valued like tackles. There are many more of them than quality backs. Only Josh has run for 100 yards in a game in 2 years ! Even by chance a mediocre back does that more than zero times in two years. It’s the scheme , poor o line coaching and if you want to depend on rookie guards , we will be waiting another couple of years for development. Imho we need 1) a premiere three down back so we are not running predictable sets all the time , Give us another star like Josh , a back like that you can probably get late in the first round. Take the punishment and pressure off Josh ! 2) get a better o line coach , perhaps better o coordinator. Give that guy two or three free agents , one good vet and two guys with a year or two under their belt to coach up. Can improve within one off season. 3). Try to get a FA legit edge rusher as groot develops , basham develops, Addison and our other nameless De ( hughes) face retirement. We need to reconsider the constant rotation, esp of the edge rushers. Tasker pointed out recently edge guys have to get enough reps to set up moves to beat the tackles. They can’t do that with this constant rotation. Just being fresh is not equaling sacks as the bills are now # 28 in sacks of the NFL. . This scheme , either mcds or Frazier’s is not having the expected results. Keep doing the same and expect different results ??? 4) Please consider at least competition for MLB , and try using edmunds to go after the qb! He has what 3-4 ints in 4 years.? He could probably double the impact plays with sacks if he was used as an edge rusher more than an mlb. He is a good guy , great teammate, smart guy, but he lacks fluidity and when does he impact plays ! ? All we hear is he keeps qbs from throwing in an area! How do you evaluate a negative or prove why something doesn’t happen ? How do you prove a qb doesn’t throw in an area just because if edmunds; I have seen many games where routes are run right in front of him , Oh I forgot about the Tampa bay game where our pro bowl mlb could not make a play to save the game ! My main point is it’s not as simple as just fixing the lines. It’s coaching , it’s scheme , it’s doing more creative things with the backs and those backs need to have TALENT ! Sorry moss is no longer in college forcing business decisions , motor is improving but he can’t be our sole back if we want to extend Allens career ! If we want to shorten his career , keep depending on his legs rather than his arm and brain that resulted in how High he was drafted !

[Misleading Title] Dion Dawkins to Covid list
DrPJax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you know if he is vaccinated? I don’t remember reading that esp so close after actual infection ( I think the standard is not to vaccinate until 90 days after active infection,,,,certainly time has flown by tho). I don’t read all the stuff out there on the bills so have no idea if he was later vaccinated ? It seems like this would be false pos test as he had natural disease and from lectures I have seen , pretty rare to get second infection.even a variant, after natural infection. Of course maybe he has some other immune issue we are unaware of ? Hope he is ok and this is just a false pos test. Sure don’t need more hits to this o line ! -
Donald Parham Injury from TNF--One of Worst I've Seen
DrPJax replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buck really did say his arms were shaking “ because it was cold for LA standards” on the field. That was postering, called decerebrate postering that occurs with arms extended , with tremors involuntary from head injury and head injury can also have concurrent spinal injury. No way in the world was that cold shivering which occurs over whole body to raise core temp. Now buck is not trained in traumatic head and spinal injuries so better if he just kept quiet like he said he should have. Luckily it turned out to just be a concussion and didn’t have any associated spinal injuries etc. He was already discharged from hospital. But that posturing is scary to see and I was afraid he might have had a spinal situation as well but that posturing is not uncommon after a traumatic brain injury or concussion. -

2022 RB Draft class looks pretty good
DrPJax replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I disagree. If you want a talent like Harris , a true. 3 down talent , you should quit bargain shopping or worrying about taking a rb in the Firestone round. You need a major talent up grade as you have motor and that’s it. Get a young guy Allen can grow with. We’ve seen the mistakes made by waiting and then talent becomes similar; get someone who stands out. Guards are rarely valued as it’s round talent as there are so many more of them coming out. Centers/ tackles are first round material but we’re not looking for that and it’s better to go,FA route for lineman. Look, we had good late round talent and we gave it away or it was taken. Quit bargain shopping, it has obvious results ; get young lineman with some experience. We have made many bad choices drafting lineman. Mike Williams stands out, and we gave Teller away , so it tells you our staff has issues identifying lkne talent. Morse , our best is second best lineman was not our draft pick. We hit on Brown late , so that shows line talent can be picked up in later rounds and developed. With backs, you can’t teach size, speed, vision, and I sound grab back talent quickly. We need a good back, line play can be improved by proper coaching , ask John Fina! Kc, Pittsburgh, Ravens, all qualityrunni;g teams drafted good backs early. We need to preserve Allen before he has a career threatening injury. He was not drafted because of his rinning, he was drafted for leadership, and his unique arm atrength. One 100 yard game and he came very close to missing games or more. we will be drafting in the mid - late first round. Perfect place to grab RB talent. We are a run game away fro a good offense. Much harder to find a true 3 down back to diversify the o and make it harder on defenses to key on , than find a couple of serviceable guards that csn be trained with good o line. coaching. ( Fina has discussed that=our line is not terrible, but inconsistent with technique and that makes sense ). Again , tackles are different. , but we have those. Let’s get the missing piece for Allen before we lose him. I get a premiere back and this o can become what it’s supposed too. Get one as soon as you can. Guards are much easier to find plus would be better to get a couple of good FA because two rookie guards sounds like an o line mess for a year. -
Change Pass Interference to 15 yd penalty (edited title)
DrPJax replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like some concept of that but I feel with nfl qb arms, capable of 60-70 yard throws, dbs would never take a chance on getting beaten What I would throw out would be something like the first pi in a half be worth a 20 yard penalty. ( 2 first downs). 2 nd PI in a half worth 30 yards( 3 first down equivalents). This would discourage PI on 10 yard patterns as an example as a db tries preventing a first down. This way the offense still has to perform , but the d is not going to want to keep grabbing receivers! Third PI in a half would revert then to either 30 yards or classic spot penalty , which ever is more. I think it would be stiff enough to prevent grabbing but quit placing the ball 50 yards downfield on the basis of a questionable ref call. Mitigates holding / PI AND BAD REF calls at the same time. Certainly could be tweaked but need something in between college and currrent system esp given state of refs in NFL today. -
Inside the 20 with a chance to win it two games in a row
DrPJax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haha! I’m not that upset,,,prob shouldn’t post when I am just lying in bed trying to go to sleep ! Have you watched many people review the game? Let me give you a pod cast to check out on YouTube. It’s fantastic. Usually live every Monday night I believe. It’s called OFF TACKLE WITH JOHN FINA , HOSTED BY JOE MILLER. Fina played left tackle w the bills for 7 years starting next to Reuben brown ( who will be live with them this next week , highly recommended! ) Lots of humor from Fina ( I was lucky enoughto see him play in SB 27 & 28 as I crazily went to both ! ). It is tremendous insight fro a starting bills tackle and it is insight you can’t get except from someone who has been there / done that! You will learn things and laugh at the same time. Great hour show. Many of the things I mention are discussed by Fina but with great technical Knowledge of player responsibilities , and of course he had great coaching under Marv. As a pro , he is frustrated , amazed by how poor many guys technique is, lack of effort at times, basically many things that COULD BE EASILY fixed if players took responsibility and one thing he pointed out. There is a lack of leadership , accountability on the team. For example , he said Thurman would get in lineman’s faces about their assignments. Jim of course was like that.Thurman also tho told guys to hold him accountable and get in his face if needed! You need a certain culture and leadership to advance to success , like the Bucs have. Fins does think Josh has the ability to be that leader but he needs to use his authority, not be afraid as the best talent to expect others to do their assignments , and to do them without all the mental mistakes this team is plagued by. It’s really an interesting insight. Really check it out! Look , I have been a fan since ‘63, so I have seen many iterations of the Bills. I like Mcd as a Coach , and hope he stays a long time. This team has talent but us greatly underachieving! Somewhere along the line , responsibility and accountability are being dropped. It’s seen over and over with the losses and even in wins. The second half was an example of what the team could be , but we have seen o e half of it in 13 weeks! Just having watched both our 90’s great teams , and then everything else , this team AS IT IS FUNCTIONING, IS NOT GOING FAR IN THE PLAYOFfs! Sure, they will pound the horrible teams like Carolina , but is that the goal of the team ? They stated they want to win a Super Bowl , right? Let’s see how one good half carry’s over by the time they get to New England! I hope that half does trigger assignment responsibility and like Fina said , he would challenge each guy to play without a mistake! If one guy is allowed ti make a mistake, the next guy sees that and then you have 42 guys allowed to make one mistake , which means 42 mistakes in a game! Finas way of coaching ( his son is a center for UCLA now I believe) , and how he played and how the 90’s team held guys accountable! We don’t have that culture here yet. We have an amazing Qb, perhaps best in the league! He needs players around him to support him by playing up to their abilities. Many are not doing that and there is film showing some bad things. If I’m going to enjoy being a fan , I like to watch good football and winners. Been a doc for 35 years; not a neurosurgeon but a pretty good family practice and ER guy. As colleagues we always hold each other accountable. Of course football is just a game , but if you’re going to do something , do it to the best of your ability is something I believe in. Would love to see the Bills win a Lombardi before I’m gone. Haha! Time flies and I just hate seeing them waste a year! Hope they don’t , but I’m suspicious they are going to need staff changes next year. Not Mcd, but others. Thx for the thoughts , hey , it’s a game and it has no tangible effect on my life. I’m ok either way , win or lose cuz I have had a great life! Didn’t mean to sound to serious , but wow, I watch some people whose weeks are ruined if the bills lose! I loved the experience of going to two super bowls , it is quite the spectacle so I hope the bills do well and a whole new generation gets to experience that. It is a bucket list thing ! Best wishes, Happy Holidays! -
Inside the 20 with a chance to win it two games in a row
DrPJax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was just thinking today, yesterday’s loss upsets me more now despite Josh saying how proud he was of the team and how this will probably galvanize the team moving forward. They had their best half of football perhaps all year in the 2nd half, but then overtime came, and as Jeff Saturday commented while discussing Brady’s records, (paraphrasing) , did you ever really believe Buffalo was going to fully come back and win this game at any time? It reinforced my own reflections that why is it we as Bills fans have had to endure so many gut wrenching losses, where the Bills frequently seem to find a way to lose in the end despite all the good or great plays leading up to the final outcome ? The one time we came out on top, the Houston oiler playoff comeback, is almost the sole time we turned losing around and we actually managed to make it ALL the way back and could celebrate a win! Thank God that record still stands, like being the only 4 x consecutive AFC champions. Those are two of the things we as Bill fans still hold on to as positives after remaining loyal fans for many years, as we experienced another of the all too well known Bills method of losing after giving fans a glimmer of hope and then blowing the coverage on the final play It’s just a sad feeling to add one more notch to the culture of LOSING that pervades or surrounds this franchise ( not ignoring the upward trend of the past two years) , and we are left actually hearing from an incredible franchise qb that the team will NOW learn from this and it will get back to being the team and teammates that he has fallen in love playing with. Why has it taken until week 13 for the players to sense that from the team and teammates? Doe it seem reasonable that SUDDENLY NOW THE SWITCH HAS BEEN FLIPPED and only the GOOD from yesterdays LOSS will carry over, despite the horrible first half play and the ultimate truth that WE STILL LOST THE GAME !? Like the failures on offense you mention continue to bother you and are hard to fathom, we again saw the defense fail to get a stop when the game was really on the line. Who on here really felt if Brady got his hands on the ball we would rise to the occasion and stop him leading a drive to win the game ? Also, isn’t it odd that Josh felt compelled to mention the prior lack of play by Gabe Davis whom he obviously has great trust in ; why did we have an OC call ZERO runs by Rbs in the first half and that’s somehow ok with the HC ; why do we get repeated questionable play calling when within ten yards of scoring in the red zone ; why can’t we seem to WIN ANY CLOSE ONE POSSESSION games so frequently this year ? As you stated, there really are quite a few issues or bad trends with this team. I bring this stuff up because I can relate to what you are feeling and unfortunately it feels like we have experienced more than our fair share of hard to accept loses given the hype and supposedly talent laden roster. We have continued to add to our teams legacy of heartbreaking losses, and Its more frustrating as we all had such high hopes for the results this year. I hope somehow we win the last 4 and go on to win the SB, but its hard to ignore the past that when this team faces big games with talk of “ must wins” , it often falls short. Yes, the second half felt good Sunday , but feelings don’t erase the FACT WE LOST and are barely above .500. Unfortunately, now I am finding it easier to expect failure and it was only just last year it felt like we were headed on a path similar to the early 90’s ! Outside of the second half , that feeling of looking forward to years of success now feels more like we are still facing more rebuilding , again lagging behind other franchises. I am left wondering should the season end short of at least making it back to the AFC championship game, will those in high positions refuse to remain content with these results , a culture of accepting the type of play that can be exciting at times, yet ends with losing. Hopefully we don’t repeat the mistakes of sticking with the status quo. Tampa Bay has two Lombardi trophies showing even the worst franchises can turn around, while the Buffalo franchise has zip. I think it’s obvious Beane and McD made errors regarding talent evaluation in FA and the draft in the past,, and I also believe they made errors with the coaching assistants and possibly coordinators. This will be a critical off-season relative to this regimes future here; you can’t ignore the teams record which is its standard of performance Devout Bills fans deserve to experience the feeling of backing a team that actually wins a super bowl. This year, so far, looks like a wrong step in the process, and I hope things turn back around. Mcd is a very good, potentially great HC, and I hope he actually improves and demands more from his staff because this years team does not seem like a solid base to sustain success with many issues we keep seeing repeating in frustrating losses. -
A Few Thoughts about the Bucs Game, in no particular order
DrPJax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Point 10 about Sanders is spot on. At first I thought he was a good addition as a vet presence, but over the last few games he is nothing but a just another guy out there. Perhaps 1-2 receptions a game but not the impact player I thought he would be. During Josh’s presser he specifically cited Gabe, saying he didn’t know what happened to sanders , BUT GABE NEEDs to be on the field more and the players want him there! Sanders does not make that 4 th down conversion. When the qb is calling for Davis to be in there it shows why this o has been dysfunctional at times, obviously like Mcd has done in other situations , he is putting Sanders in just because of who he is and not based on actual current performance! We all see Davis produce , and we see Sanders making catches when open in zones , but he is not a dynamic player at this point. I believe in Josh who passionately called for Gabe in the future and this must be a real issue ; the difference in results can’t be ignored and it is a test of mcds and Dabolls abilities to actually have a grasp on team chemistry and to see if they can really effect change to save the season. Time will tell. Sanders is not deserving of the same snap count at this point ! -
Josh in a boot after Tampa game (now says he's "good to go", no effects)
DrPJax replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know! It’s unbelievable! How does Mcd allow Daboll to keep doing crazy stuff like that , esp if he want to have a long career as the head coach? Regardless of the great comeback , can’t forget how bad the offensive game planning was that first half. Finally opened things up when motor hit on a couple of runs and Allen was running so well, but as you said , NO runs by a RB is hard to forgive. I think this is the last year of Daboll; great talent at qb but you have to have balance. Brady didn’t do all that stuff today by himself. -
Josh in a boot after Tampa game (now says he's "good to go", no effects)
DrPJax replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why we need legit 3 down backs , not Allen running for 100 yards! Man, he had quite a game; he was all heart on top of talent today. Most I have ever seen one player carry a team! We at least have a quality franchise qb! -
It’s true. Sanders has been getting less and less productive. Even Sims on his podcast was saying Brown did a better taking the top off defenses than Sanders has done. Sanders is reminding me of Gore, guy finally hit the wall and just hanging on with an occasional play. Our o has mediocre talent surrounding Josh now. We need a true 3 down back so our qb doesn’t have to run for100 yards and be hurt like he is now ( walking boot so hopefully not too bad ) , need a valid #2 tight end, going to need a younger slot and one more additional wr. Then we need at least 3 new starting lineman. Big off-season for Beane and a new OC.

Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers Pregame thread
DrPJax replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey! This is a bad feeling game. Brady reportedly saying this game is their biggest game en route to the #1 seed. He leads the league in all meaningful qb stats,,,,not like close to the lead, he is actually #1 in most stats. Josh unfortunately has 9-7 td ratio over his last few games in addition to the L’s. He’s not to blame; sims pointed out the lack of creativity, lack of motion etc, and pointed out this offense is definitely worse than last year. He made a great point ; there are blue chippers Allen/ Diggs and then the rest of the offense is mediocre. He pointed out sanders can’t take the top off the d as good as Brown did ( has been true regardless of 40 times) All very valid points. Then there’s the elephant in everyone’s room, the lack of any run game to help take the pressure off Josh. Honestly , there really is Josh throwing or running and there is nothing else. Daboll has failed miserably this year and Mcd’s comments after the loss about failed opportunities, is similar to his comments about Rick Dennison who was sent packing. Daboll is coaching for his Bills future but what have we seen that suggests some sudden fix with this o with a porous line and in all honesty, a support cast that is under performing ? Frazier also will prob be gone next year. That might be good; three games giving up over 200 yards rushing and when you watch analysts break down the run D , it’s a repeat show of terrible technique on the d line and “ LBs on skates” ! TB has two good backs in addition to 2 amazing wrs ( evans & godwin) and throw in gronk. Man , this has the look to me of an absolute blowout. This Bills team is playing very spotty, but one thing that seems constant is if they get behind, they press and mistakes worsen and they just don’t come back this year. So many bad matchups , a team with coaching and philosophical in battles , no confidence against a qb they never sack who owns them , and this looks like an easy call. ( and I forgot to mention their best cb , white , being out which makes the over / under on his replacement being torched at maybe 1/2 quarter) Of course that’s why they play the games tho, anything could happen right, like that vikes game we once pulled off! It snowed once here in Jax after I moved here from Ohio in ‘85. That was a really neat day for me as it gave me feelings of being home, ; would love that feeling again and I think us beating the Bucs has about the same probability, about 1/ 35 times ! It’s at least cloudy today here , so that’s a great start! Lol! 😀. -
Seems like a very poor time to dump salt on an open wound. Why talk about the obvious right after a very painful loss like that? You really think people care about the Bucs game right now.? Lol. Hey we held the Pats to 17 yards passing so obviously Brady should be shaking and very anxious,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..to start the game and destroy the Bills! Game will be a joke!
-
Didn’t sound like an attempt to shame them or insult them; just an honest question given a historic loss where a rookie Qb threw only 3 passes for under 29 yards. If you feel insulted maybe you should look at the results and wonder how often has a rookie Qb lead a team to victory while only throwing the ball 3 times. If your pride was so hurt by just a question , perhaps you should have played with a little more passion ON THE FIELD, and not transfer your anger to a reporter trying to do his job well. You get paid a .ot of $ to Win games and this was an historic loss. Going to be hearing about it a lot for Years to come. Let’s add it to things like HAIL MURRAY, MUSIC CITY MIRACLE, 4 SB losses , giving up 5 tds to single player from the colts, Wide Right, etc. if you are pissed by being part of historic performances, try being on the RIGHT / WINNing side of history for a change and see if you still get pissed off being asked about it. You create your own legacy and reputation; you should cherish it more before being pissed when it’s you who tarnished it ! They never get pissed off when asked about the Houston comeback game, do they?! It’s a two way street , have to accept questions about playing poorly with the same grace they are so eager to do after winning! Hyde’s reaction just embarrassed himself more ( and I really usually respect him very much) and he should show class and apologize! All he has to say was hey , I was still feeling it in that moment, we left ourselves and fans down and it was still painful. Everybody can relate and RESPECT THAT ! attacking and threatening to remember the question was classless and not like hyde , but it was a mistake on his part. They set themselves up for ridicule ; accept responsibility and let it go and it would nit continue to live on like it will after that threat! 😊. Sure was not HUMBLE acting like that! Maybe he was hangry!? Lol!
-
TBH, not making the playoffs , which will represent a historic collapse , may be the best for this teams long term future. We are talent deficient along the lines, rb position , and a true edge rusher. We have no ability to run and we can’t stop the run. We are not advancing with a team that has no ability to win from behind. By not making the playoffs we draft higher, and I think it forces mcds hand to change the o coordinator to someone who csn design a running attack in ADDITION to making the most of Josh’s talents! A change is needed. The o is stagnant or even worse than last year. Losing to a rookie Qb at home in December who threw 3 passes is inexcusable! Next week will probably be a significant beat down by Brady. If we don’t want to waste our talented QB, we need new creativity 10 points at home will e a loss almost always. Weather or not, that was an embarrassing performance and historical type of loss. The coaching was difficult to explain or rationalize. Actually , missing the playoffs may force some changes that are good in the long run ! Love the Bills, but this team has big issues, had regressed and we need to finally get answers to fix this.
-
Doesn’t really seem that simple. You’re telling me we were not motivated on opening day against the Steelers? Why wouldn’t we have been motivated that day? Why would we no be motivated against Indy with Reich, one of our own, for a home game to keep us on top of the EAST? Ok , I would hope they actually did take Jax for granted because it was a terrible loss and again shows the importance of supposedly unimportant games. Then finally the Titans , after their coach tries to rerun the m8sic city miracle , did we just neck,e disinterested ? That game , again I would hope , we just got unlucky with Josh slipping but also we got run over and thru and we couldn’t muster one stop with them having totally destroyed us the prior year. Not motivated for revenge tho I guess? I am just going by what I can see on YouTube as I live in Jax , fl, but the weather reallu seems like it will ne an issue , one way of the other. I was hoping I would see the team practicing outdoors , getting used to the conditions and wind while trying to figure out what they can do best on offense in that stadium given the weather , but all I have seen is guys doing an indoors practice ,joking around quite a bit. While I know I only see what they allow to be shown ,the reporting on the practices said things were more business like after the jags loss. Just asking , ( maybe someone from there can let me know if they ARE doing outdoor practice as well) is practicing In The comfortable indoor facility getting you acclimated and ready for Monday night? I hope they really are getting reps outside and trying to make our stadium an advantage , which it hasn’t been in a dominant way this year! I can almost guarantee the Pats are focused having the #1 seed In their own destiny, , confident , and coached by a coach that had owned Mcd until last year ( and really they could have won the first game if not for Cam). The Pats players on D I have seen recently interviewed ( like van nye , McCourty and others) are are saying how the D is really working well together and playing intelligently with lack of things like dumb penalties, and are talking about how they are playing Good team defense and have confidence in the coaches game to game adjustments as they are very capable of doing different things on D every week. I have never heard anything about that type of “ defensive adjustments” when our players are talking about our d ( when did we last adjust or come out of our classic 4-2-5?) ! This week unfortunately they are very focused on how to step up to help lessen the loss of white. From the “ OUTSIDE” , The Pats are confident and “ ascending “ at the right time , while we are more in the recovering from a major loss situation and we are seemingly being distracted on how the weather is probably going to be a negative influence on our ability to run our typical passing offense. I hope you are on target about this team finally showing up in a critical game this season being focused and motivated. IMHO, it comes down to coaching at this point because we have the talent to compete and win. Hopefully we see a game and play with few stupid pre snap penalties , few penalties that provide an extra possession after we have stopped them ( personal fouls, defensive holding ), and focused special teams ( can we stop the stupid short kickoffs that have almost never worked ) as field position will be critical in this tough match up. The big question is can Mcd actually deliver a FOCUSED, INTENSE team, WHEN SO MUCH is on the line, or should we lose will we once more hear the typical “ it’s just one game “ , “ all our goals are still in front of us “ , “ Josh, and we all have plays we want back” cliche filled speech after another disappointing home loss!? We know Belicheck has the team focused as his team comes in leading the East and on a 6 game winning streak. If the Bills can’t show up MOTIVATED at home on Monday night football , and play like you have a real home field advantage , then there is little hope this team is significant this year and it really would signify it’s time for Beane to begin thinking about solutions for the future! For example, changes in the coordinators and position coaches need consideration if they want to get to the next level to be a true SB competitor. I can agree we can beat any team when motivated, IF MOTIVATION MEANS showing up confident , physical ' and prepared to beat a team that is coming in as “THE TEAM” everyone outside Buffalo expects to dominate in this game, which is CRAZY given they are coming to Buff with a ROOKIE QB! If we lose at home with a more physicAlly dominant QB, the whole process this team has been built on would look flawed, and the plan to “play at championship level” would need re-evaluation and perhaps different implementation, starting with FA , the draft , and team building. I really hope Mcd coaches his way to a home win and then the focus really can be on the “ next biggest” game! However, we have to remain realistic , a loss and we are suddenly back to being an “IN THE HUNT” type of team. It’s less than 24 hours away and that means a lot of peoples psyches are in a fragile situation! Man, I wish we had showed motivation against Pittsburgh and Jax! 😊😉

TNF: Dallas (7-4) at New Orleans (5-6), 8:20 pm on Fox
DrPJax replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank you , it’s very kind of you , very much appreciated in this really challenging time in my life. Thx for taking your time and prayers really do help so much. Happy holidays! , Randy. -
Wow, was that bad huh? Usually Sims is a big Josh backer, but he was also the main guy I remember before the draft touting how NFL ready jones was based on Sims friendship with the 49 ers head coach. Have to admit , this game seems like one of those where Mcd might be out-coached, as I am thinking nothing gets him out of the 4-2-5 , and we might get handled along our lines. Plus if the weather really is going to be extremely gusty, add that Pats d line rushing, and Josh being a little erratic with his decisions this year, and if we would abandon the run, it really could be a heart breaking game for us. I hope if it’s really that gusty , we realize Jones should have big issues as well and we should focus on run blitzing and covering those tight ends. Just hope we see some creative Coaching from our guys and don’t suffer a third home loss this season. Thx for the review tho so now will definitely skip the sims / florio preview. Based on all the national press , it wouldn’t surprise me if their take is echoed by most outside of Buffalo. Can’t argue about some things tho ,like it would be amazing to actually see us stop a running team and it sure would be nice to see our offense look good against a very good D! Sure would make for a great Monday night to win that game! 😊

You’re exactly right. My fault. I’m a little out of it. Still recovering from an anterior three level cervical fixation after 4 discs collapsed in my neck , pinching my cervical cord.( no trauma, just developed bilateral paresthesias almost like carpal tunnel, went for mri as my balance also felt off and was told I had no choice about the surgery!). Lost all feeling in my arms and hands , but no gross motor deficits. Man, I did not expect this level of “ discomfort” after surgery. Have had kidney stones before , and acutely this anterior fusion ranks right up there pain wise but not as nauseating. Was under about 5 hours and they stopped before doing the 4 th level because of bleeding / swelling in my chest/ throat area. Since then I have noticed some issues remembering names correctly ! Been a little scary as I usually have a very good memory. Hopefully, it returns. ( I’m also 64 now so the memory thing with names is new , but I’ve noticed it , usually would not mess up a simple name like that. ) Thanks for catching that and being kind about correcting me 😀. Hopefully , things will clear up memory wise but it looks like my sensory losses are permanent. Oh well, still walking so it could have been worse. ( Thx again for correcting that, sorry for the long explanation, just usually not too prone to misnaming something that simple.) Did look like he ruptured the tendons tho , don’t you think ? Better guy than me, I would have quit after needing the splint! 😊 -

Boy, gotta feel for the Saints. Injury bug has been terrible. That injury to Hill , based on seeing his finger hit the guys arm with his finger flexed at the farthest ( distal joint), and seeing how it’s taped ( on top or dorsally) , and how Hill kept pulling on it between passes, most likely that is a RUPTURED EXTENSOR tendon of his middle finger. That means if not taped in place , the distal phalanx ( furthest part of the finger ) will drop down in what’s called a mallet ( thx for correcting that for me, I misnamed the final result) deformity. The tendon was torn, ripped from the sides of the bone and most likely will have to remain splinted with the tip flexed upward ( splint on top with slight bend up ) for about 6-8 weeks. If you don’t keep the splint in the tendons can’t reattach and you have a permanent mallet ( corrected) deformity. Can’t hurt it more right now , but he won’t he playing with it like that after this game as medically it won’t heal without proper splinting that doesn’t come off. No easy way to control throwing and he would have a permanent deformity. At least that’s what it looks like from tv. Otherwise I don’t think they would keep that splint on top of the third finger. Hill is playing tough, got to give him credit, but sure looks like he ruptured the extensor tendons on that finger. Will see tomorrow on injury report.
