  1. Great points ! Poyer is a fav of mine however he was not a draft pick of theirs and is getting older so they may look for a drafted / cheaper solution. Edmunds and Oliver are core , drafted position guys and after coming up with money for Miller , I am now convinced anything is possible. Knox is coming into his prime and they were very patient on his development, yet I am not sure they are not willing to go thru the whole process again as TE has only so much production in this O as a piece of the receiving unit and if push comes to shove , I bet beane would bet he could find another knox if needed. Oliver is a rarer breed, and Mcd covets those d guys ; once Starr is of the books they prob focus on retaining Oliver. With Edmunds , he is just a devout process guy , a young guy who will get a shot a two major contracts probably. So they may use that as a tool to help him understand his actual value more and if other teams see what a lot of Bills fans see , he may not be many teams cup of tea. Not a lot of teams run a 4-2-5 almost all the time and want more physical MLB types. It’s always possible tho someone would use him in a better role as a true olb and allow him to rush more and that might drive his value up. Somehow I think they get him for another 3-4 years as Mcd is very loyal to certain player types. I think they believe he has very unique talents with speed / size, wingspan and they don’t seem to mind his softer style of play. They must see him do much more than at least I see as a long time fan ( since 63 ) but albeit one with no formal coaching experience.
  2. Yep , this is only about special teams and has nothing to do with Edmunds. Listened to Mcd with Brown & Tasker ( who both rave about edmunds) and Mcd was effusive with praise , reviewing how much Edmunds has on his plate .. He stated he was much improved matching pass routes to coverages this past season He also stated again about the age thing being it’s hard to believe his is so young yet with all this experience now. After I listened to Mcd , I am convinced they do whatever it takes to hold onto him. He has been a quiet leader who Mcd felt needs to perhaps be a little more vocal was the only critical thing Mcd said about him. Otherwise he was gLowing in praise and really this was the first time I came away hearing Mcd openly praise a player without focusing on their continued need for growth and staying humble. I don’t see what Mcd sees , but I’m not the guy edmunds has to please. No way they replace him unless he has a disastrous year in 2022, as I now expect him to be a Bill for a long time unless HE choses to go elsewhere. This is Beane looking for a backup Lb who is a special teams guy and being a captain is right up Beams alley. Another good guy in Matakevich prob bites the dust this year as Beans keeps looking for the latest / greatest. Hard to believe a guy leads the eagles in tackles would come to a club to be a backup , special teams guy. Seems like just a reach on this guy and just checking in if he might be disgruntled etc , which it would prob take for him to want to leave a starting role. I just can’t fathom after hearing Mcd that they are looking for a replacement for edmunds.
  3. Haha! Yeah I thought about that but after that first year as white started because our talent level was no where close to what it is now , rookies seem to have had a harder time getting on the field for consistent periods of time. Maybe with our depth being so bad at cb now , a guy drafted at 25 could be a starter. I guess it just depends how the draft goes and if someone drops. Of course, with the success of Brown , it is proof a good rookie can earn starting time , but it sure took a while for it to happen and it took losing games, an abysmal run game m and injuries for Brown to get his shot. You are right of course, as white started after being drafted at 25 , but it’s a different Mcd now , a different roster , and I am not totally sure Mcd will start a rookie full time at CB. He sure likes his vets. Tre was drafted at a different time , expectations were much lower and Mcd had all the time he needed to allow development as he wasn’t expected to make the playoffs. None of that is true now and the expectations are much higher from Mcd and the team is expected to compete for the SB I think only time will tell if he will actually give a rookie a starting position with a lot more on the line now. He may have his hands tied tho and be forced to because of the situation so I guess a cb drafted at 25 could start for us , but I still would bet Mcd gives a vet every chance to start over a rookie. Hey , if Sauce drops to 25 or one of the top 5 cbs is still there , maybe they could crack the starting line up. Like I stated tho , I think that’s very UNUSUAL to land a PLUG IN READY ( based on mcds RECENT ROOKIE use ) cb drafting that low who they will actually start, and with Mcd I will believe it when I see it. 😀. White has been a great pic and I think that much talent is hard , not impossible , but difficult to find at 25 ( after all he turned out to be a pro bowl caliber guy ) so like I said , that’s rare, wouldn’t you agree ? I don’t think anything I said was off base that much as we have seen rookies have a much harder time cracking the line up now as it’s a much more talented roster compared to when Tre was drafted. Good point about Tre tho ! 😊
  4. It doesn’t matter that much really after losing Mitch. He was MAYBE the only guy who could legitimately have held place for a couple of games, and again , that’s a big maybe ! If Josh goes down for more than a few series or just a game , there is no one to replace that talent drop off and be as productive in this passing offense. We don’t currently have a run game as plan b , especially with the two current backs, so without Allen this team will not have much offense. So far they refuse to develop a plan b for bad weather or should Allen go down as they have not fixed the lack of run production. So they will fill in with whatever is left from the FA’s and there is just no talent out there that makes second qb anywhere close to providing your comfort like last year. That guy was a overall number one pick if I remember correctly and last year having him on a cheap deal was an anomaly. No way is having a second Qb more valuable than getting a legit CB 2 or depth as another injury there would be devastating. The facts are with no dependable run game ( tho there is some hope with Safford and if Bates’ can stay, and maybe the new OC will place more importance on a legitimate run threat ) does it really matter too much who qb two is as the production will likely fall off a cliff without Josh ! They are just structured around him as he also is their main running game. How do you replace that? So get a guy like fitz or marriota who could possibly give you a few series or a game, but until they get a plan B and develop an ability to run the ball IF NEEDED ( look what happened when the weather was bad and even Josh couldn’t pass well, our o fell apart), just plug in a reasonable guy for the qb room because we can’t compete in the AFC with all the other qb talented teams should Josh get injured. . It’s the same for the other AFC teams. I do wish they would get a quality back tho to help protect Josh and keep him away from so many rpos ( until playoff time) and develop a good run threat/ game. That way an avg throwing qb might have a chance to be productive if Josh is out for any period, and THEN it might actually matter who the back up qb is. It’s more important to do everything possible to keep Josh healthy ( develop a legit run game ) than worry about what qb to fill in with because like most teams , if your starter is down , so are your chances of post season success. The CB need is more reasonably fixed as we saw last year with depth stepping up, if you have guys in the pipeline so that again takes precedent over qb 2. 😉
  5. White will be back long before December as an Acl is a 6 -8 month recovery time so Sept is a realistic period and a return in December is way off on an uncomplicated acl repair. I do think you have a valid concern but this draft is very deep at cb and I know Beane will bring in a vet or two at cb. I don’t think when drafting at 25 you are guaranteed a starting cb anyhow as we know that’s rare and Mcd doesn’t use rookies that way in his history. Should they got lucky and a top tier guy drops or they move up , they might have a shot a a plug in starter but I don’t know If they can move that high to get to the top 3 cbs. After that the talent level equals out for the next couple of rounds as I have heard draft experts mention. I bet you end up being right tho and the Bills feel forced to draft cb In round 1, which is a shame as they could grab some really good value at wr or yes, even rb ( if hall was there at 25 ). at the end of the first round. Just thinking it goes against their philosophy of always going best available talent and goes toward filling a need that they really should address prior to the draft. It’s not like they didn’t know this was coming so it seems a little short sighted which is not like Beane at all. Still lots of FA time tho to fix things.!
  6. Great points , and Carr is no Rodgers. Man, the AFC just got a whole ton of talent dumped into it this preseason and this is all before the draft ! This is another example of irresponsible spending by a gm as there is no way Adams lives up to that value with Carr throwing the ball and with all the other talented teams in that division. I get trying to do something with all the talent influx , but you have to be realistic with Carr as yoir qb : no way a wr returns value at that price getting throw to by Carr. I don’t think he will come close to the production he had in Green Bay as other teams will be scoring and holding onto the ball in that division and I think the Raiders would be smarter to try running the ball and keeping possession rather than trying to keep up with Maholmes , Wilson, and the San Diego qb, as Carr is arguably the worst qb in that division now. Raiders being the Raiders tho even with a new staff in place. Some things never change ! Ownership does play a role in how the franchise performs year after year , and any guy who.rocks that hair cut as an owner is proof he makes bad decisions daily !😃
  7. I understand that , after all tho Rodgers did LIE about things and admitted he was in the wrong But why attack the guy and call him an idiot just because he didn’t vote for you to be a UNANIMOUS choice and Rodgers was still going to easily win the mvp award. So all his self love and entitlement was about ONE VOTE! True behavior of a narcissistic A hole and it just one more thing in a long history of diva like antics from Rodgers over the years. He was the guy holding out all this prior pre season as well , so he has a pattern of behavior worrying about himself and not the team as he wants everyone to perceive about him. This adams thing would be a great time to be a fly on the wall when they try reasoning this to Rodgers who many times said he wanted Adams on the team. 😀
  8. I agree Allen can make guys better, but it also works both ways. Beas was great with many clutch catches and let’s be honest , Allen was developing into what he is now and many times Cole made spectacular catches of off target throws from Allen , and he helped win games for us I really like Cole, and he made the right choices for himself about the vax and didn’t deserve all the crap. I won’t get into the medical arguments here even tho there is a ton of evidence to support individuals choices because this board is not tolerant of discussing outcomes or issues regardless of supporting studies. But he was great for a developing Josh , played thru a fractured fibula , and was a very , very good slot guy who moved the chains with many critical receptions. Allen is at a stage NOW where he does make people better , but Cole is talented reading zones , had great hands , and was a good teammate by all accounts. It may not be as easy as you think to just plug in some one else : we’ve all read aboit chemistry between a qb and receivers. Sanders never really developed that type of chemistry with Allen , so I would never minimize losing a guy Josh depended on many times.
  9. Yeah let’s see how he does after all that talk about how much it’s about team for him, and how much the relationship with the gm is so much better now. Haha! 200$ mil / 50 mil a year MAY calm KAARON , but something tells me nothing can stop a full blown diva who was so worried when one press guy refused to vote for him for mvp. This should be good! 😄. I love it; couldn’t happen to a sweeter guy !
  10. Ouch, kind of a back handed way of them admitting then that they don’t see Mayfield as “ top tier “ Qb as they see Watson as better. I’m sure Baker doesn’t agree and I don’t know how the Browns repair this relationship, albeit for prob at most for just one more year. What a mess now when things had been so much better after Hugh Jackson was fired. Bad ownership can kill even promising situations , and the Browns owner is as bad as Snyder. Also interesting to see how Rodgers handles Adams being traded to the raiders , tho 200 mil $ will prob ease his pain even tho it’s all about the team with Aaron!😂
  11. I agree. I know the game has changed but we saw how mixon helped the bengals advance dither than we did. Thurman was key to helping the k gun run. Plus I hate to say this but if Allen get hurt running all those rpos people on here will wish the Bills had gotten a quality back who:can take those Carrie’s off Allen so he can be assured to be around to lead us. Right now our running game is just not adequate or dependable in short yardage or the red zone. How many on here complained at the stupid passing Daboll did inside the five or ten yard line so often last year casing drives to stall ? How often did people complain Daboll was getting too cute in that area? Its the last missing piece to having an offense in Todays game that is just as unstoppable as the k gun was with Thurman in his time. Plus people forget how just reverting to a third down guy like we almost got from Washington gives away situational tendencies as opposed to a complete three down back. The draft is where you get a cheap alternative to FA and is perfect to get a plug and play rb on a cheap deal. Motor and moss are average at best with an occasional good game or two as I think they only Have one 100 yard game ( I think motor had ONE 100 yard game last year ?) getting a guy like Hall would really open up the offense in the red zone where we stalled so many times and settled for field goals. With Beane Going all in on the d line , I don’t get just continuing to do the same thing with the current rbs and expecting different results. Protect Allen , give him a good rb to save his running for the Playoffs and critical moments while assuring your chances he stays healthy. In the NFL , running qbs get hurt ( I have seen posters argue on here that you don’t draft rbs high because they get injured very often , and they can as Barkley / mccaffery have shown , but then that means we are choosing to keep exposing Allen to those same risks ) and all these great aspirations and signings are for naught if Allen goes down. It’s not about taking anything away from his passsing game , it’s about having a rb who can actually produce when given the chance and can you honestly say you trust motor or moss in those situations ? They haven’t proven they are consistent at this point. This team goes as far as Allen takes them and the high scoring o is the bread and butter way this team wins. Yes we need a cb, but you have seen late round picks like Jackson or FA guys like Wallace at least be adequate. With all the d line additions you could argue the cbs will be much more effective as qbs won’t just be standing back there like mahomes did in the playoffs picking the d apart. This year the draft is very deep with cb talent , so it’s not mandatory to use a first round pick to find talent there. Imagine a back like Najee Harris who put up 1200 yds/ 7 tds ( despite an ineffective passing game as Ben was just hanging on) and while he might not get that in a more passing oriented O, he probably gets 1000 and is effective in short yardage. Hall may be even more productive than Harris. Getting a good rb is just not about making the d have to be more honest , it’s about protecting Allen as well and if you’re ok with drafting an o lineman in the first round to protect Josh, why not look at a very productive rb in the same way? ( Baldinger on NFL network thinks Hall is a first round talent) We need an option as well if we run into weather games that make passing hard , as we lost at least one game last year to an inferior team that way and we had no run game to counter with. If you want home field advantage for the playoffs , don’t ignore a good running game to help get you there.
  12. Look , a running game can only make up so much for a qb way past his prime,; you are usually smarter than that. Tell me you would have not liked to see Harris on the Bills , and he had 1200 yards rushing and 7 tds so compare that to our backs. Apples to apples buddy , not just throw out the whole offense with a failing Ben. So yes , any intelligent person would say their offense benefitted from him and would have been even more abysmal without him , and still managed to make the playoffs. If he can do that production against stacked lines and the d not fearing a Ben deep game any longer, imagine what he could do supporting and being supported with Josh and a great passing game. Look at the guys total yards was all I said exactly. Last year he always was used in a very limited fashion in the run game. I didn’t say he couldn’t be productive as a pass catcher , all I said was it would be nice to have a complete back and no one will argue he is a three down back. Again , apples to apples and quit taking things out of context. Yep a back with 1200 yards and 7 tds is a complete failure right ? Laughable comments and can’t get past being such a fan boy that you want to think this guy is comparable to a back like Harris; dream on. ( also see on this forum the Bills were interested in mccaffery and Adam Caplan said the Panthers were not interested in trades for him and our guy is “ a good passing down back ” . He didn’t say he was a very good three down or complete back so I’m not the only person who can interpret yardage and stats. Try reading a little more in your world)
  13. His RUNNING stats were paltry , less than 10 carries a game and usually low yardage. So looks like a very limited third down type guy which is the same thing they have been doing which limits play action believability really. Not all that impressed; wish they would just draft a complete back for once. This really could limit Moss in his role as well. . Add RB to the list of DL / edge specifically , to the positions Beane / Mcd have either drafted poorly or failed to develop adequately. Motor had that flash the last few games before really flaming out again when it counted against KC. Stafford tho is an amazing run / pass blocker. Watched a breakdown of his game agaist the Bengals in 2020 and he was phenomenal! He literally knocked over their rushing inside DT with one punch! He made it to the second level all the time , drove guys OOB, and was never fooled by stunts as he picked up guys or passed them off flawlessly. That left side should be money to run behind in crunch time,,,,,if they only had a consistently good back. We all remember the last games and playoff when the o was unstoppable, but should not forget all the times the o went into several series of stagnation and obviously failed in the one possession games they kept losing. I hope our new OC focuses a little more on the run game as a good change and to set up play action more effectively than Daboll, which was probably the source of the reported conflict between Mcd / dabs at times. The line should be good to run block now, we just need some talent and production from the backs. Losing Levi to the Steelers ( esp with that favorable contract ) just creates another hole that will force their hand in the draft unless they pick up cheap guys in FA which seems hard to believe they could do inexpensively at the same or better talent level. I still wish they would breakdown and get a good back within the first three rounds ; look how the Steelers benefitted by taking a good back in the first round. This o could really be phenomenal with a talented back and having a great O line to protect Josh is negated if you keep running him so much because the backs were not dependable. 5 years of non production from the backs under Mcd / Beane seems like it’ should be time to try something a little different.
  14. You are truly wise, man, well done! Sad to see , but you nailed it with your insider connection. Tough loss of a very classy , great guy who was all you could want as a role model for Bills players. Will miss him.
  15. Hmmmm, sounds exactly like someone else he played with on our team from Va tech! So far we are batting .500 from there with one hall of fame Sack machine and one sack of unfulfilled potential ! Hope the tie breaker goes favorably for us ! Lol ! ( I admit I’m sad we lost Harry who was actually living up to his potential and off the field performed far beyond reasonable expectations. I actually will feel bad for him if the Bills win a SB just as he leaves after all he went thru. Great guy to cheer for and will take a bit to warm up to the new dts. All the preaching about developing and keeping our own and in my eyes we are letting a good, classy one get paid by another club because we signed a bunch of very avg or worse FA’s on the d line who gave us very little. Glad we are keeping mckenzie and Morse with some others , but this one is a tough one to see walk out the door 🥲. Glad he’s getting paid , a shame things worked out this way and his last Bills memory will be 13 seconds of crap !
  16. I appreciate your work and diligence on posting about signings , esp ones about a tea like this that went farther than we have since the 90’s and is going to be just as much inthe humt as we are. I like being able to see j things all in one place esp as it relates to our competition with guards. I also like seeing knowledgeable posters thoughts on these moves as there are some ( some being a very key word) really thoughtful people on here. Thx for keeping up and ignore the negative comments. It’s a message board and it’s here to post and inform. They don’t HAVE to click or read it yet feel so pressured to say something negative which is far worse. 😀👍
  17. He was the most consistent lineman all year. Very good pass pro, can pull, and he stabilizes the line. We just release two guards , so it important for Josh and our O to have at least some stability with experience as well. I like this and is really a good mo e by Beane. He did great last year medically as well, knock on wood! 😊. Williams was a mistake last year, overpaid and being moved inside to guard just exacerbated the mistake of running it back with that line from the previous year He was bad on film in the playoffs the prior year , esp on run plays where he looked lost and just stood there at times. So cutting him was a good correction and we will find better Mitch is a very good center and critical to keep with changing the guards. Lots of changes with this O ; hopefully they don’t drop games like Pittsburgh last year as it will take a while for Dorsey and all the new receivers, lineman , etc to get in sync.
  18. Rodgers is happy , he doesn’t care about any thing but being so highly paid so don’t be fooled by that egotist ! So you think he would hold out or void his contract if his best buddy , fav receiver , sits out? Let me think. About that,,,NOPE! He may talk some crap about it even still ( after all he has153 mil allrady to be in his pocket at some time ) to keep up his facade of caring about the team , but I bet he shows up on time this year without a hitch. Another diva I can’t tolerate much more , LOL ! 😉🤮
  19. Lol ! No sooner did you finish typing this and the one guy you mention is now out of the question because Brady just can’t stand missing all the focus / attention , and bingo , you become one of the posters you cautioned about! Haha, just kidding ! ( I really am over that guy being in the league again and it will be even one more year of him always getting so much media hype ; it’s tiresome and just sickening for me as I’m so over the guy. Can do everything but f n retire!😩😠😤😆)
  20. This guy would be great for our offense! I doubt Beane would do it , but a guy can dream! He makes his own holes compared to Borghi who was running thru massive holes or catching passes in the flat. Huge difference in burst and quickness between the two. Borghi will struggle imho in the NFL but may have a role as a third down back, whereas Hall has bona fide NFL speed and is a three down back. I heard some draft Guys and people on NFL network saying he would be great for the dolphins at the bottom of the first round ( Baldinger really liked him there and thought he helped himself at the combine tremendously but also had great film) . This would be a huge talent to put with Josh, and have motor as his backup and moss just for insurance. It’s been a huge missing piece , and so many great qbs have been derailed getting a Lombardi by lacking a supporting running game, as we all know the history of Elway, Marino, and Manning when they lacked run support. We don’t need to take the crucial Carrie’s from Josh or minimize our passing game , we just need an EFFECTIVE threat and this guy looks like he can pick up yards despite backfield contact and has big play speed for the short passing game. Thx for posting that ; we need offensive speed and our cb/ dl needs can be met in FA and later rounds, as can wr depth which is deep in the draft. Not too many backs with that speed and power and I wish Beane would quit trying. to just make do at the Rb position. and help protect his best investment , Josh. He has underperformed getting talent there as well as the DL so far A good back can make an o line look a lot better as well
  21. And OJ was also found not guilty. Sorry but this is a narcissist with so many complaints , and I will hold off wishing to see him play again until he is cleared in all civil suits. This is not normal behavior , how many people have had this many complaints filed against them ; how many people in your life do you know with even one suit like this against them? Just because it’s a he said / she said case is no reason to excuse this pattern of behavior as ok because they dropped criminal charges. If it was a single case , I would totally be understanding. Not all those women coming forward are motivated by money and wish to put themselves thru all this scrutiny. Why does a guy have so many masseuses when most pros have their own personal team of people they surround themselves with, let alone most teams also employ people for these services yet he had to have his massages outside of team facilities? Hmmmm. Just the fact that he kept moving on to so many different women ( also why haven’t we heard of any males he hired for massage? Seems unusual again as there are many male trainers and masseuses around NFL teams) suggests something unusual was going on. Hard to believe so many women would be outright lying as opposed to just this one male; doesn’t pass the sniff test or common sense approach. Our legal system is terrible, and I have seen many unbelievable things while testifying in malpractice cases as an expert ( facts get twisted or ignored and evidence can be disallowed etc) and even in contract disputes from a business standpoint where corporations or individuals with money work the system against those who can’t afford to hire high paid representation, so all I am saying is where there is smoke etc! I a sure the high morality NFL will have a place for this guy and he will continue to be enabled because of his ability to play football. Just for a comparison , I wonder how many women Josh goes to for massage and how many suits will be filed against him for this type of behavior ? Yeah , I am betting it never happens because his pattern of behavior is the antithesis of this guy. Good luck to the franchise getting him because behavior is a hard thing to change and good luck with the chance this never happens again. Patterns mean something and that’s why history is an important learning tool in behavioral science. I am sure he will settle, of course , because he can afford to , not because he wants to prove his complete innocence, and the NFL will embrace him like he did nothing ( however they did suspend him for a year so again they must have felt some justification legally to do so ). The court of “ public” opinion may mean a lot more in civil court since it’s members will be deciding things unless all cases are settled. Hey , the NFL has creeps like Snyder as owners, so one more at QB will just continue the status quo. Behavior matters, not statements or legal loopholes. I do understand your point and this was not meant to In any way attack you ; I am just saying our legal system is a mess ( people are not being charged caught walking out of places stealing things while all was seen on camera and assaulting people without being charged etc , so not a great period for our courts ), so a millionaire getting off without criminal charges is not very surprising in todays legal climate.
  22. Really are good points , yet Beane is facing his history of bad signings with the dl like Starr, Murphy, and lack of production from guys like Epenesa and Basham , and aging guys like Addison / hughes not producing much either. I can understand if the cap hit is that big , but watching as the Chargers pair up another good edge guy with Bosa while they also have found their franchise QB , is not a good perception overall for Beane. His poor dl production from talent is catching up with him for example being stuck paying a guy like Starr 7-8 mil ( think that close ) and that is not helping his overall look , especially after he was the guy who said he failed the first year after losing to KC in the afc championship game along the d line , and then ran it back with the exact same results the following year. Big year for him to get better talent / production with that line and things like this just show other teams aren’t sitting still and while we can win in a weak afc east , getting to the super bowl is the goal and it’s time for him to improve that line or soon he will not be as safe as we all think he would continue to be.
  23. Plus it says it’s in 2023 , so that’s not even this years draft , if correct that almost ,lowers the values a round for the picks ! A huge need for us and we miss out on this , even if it was for 2022 picks it would have been worth it for us. Now he is teamed up with Bosa! Someone is taking the qb heavy addition of Wilson very seriously. This is one time I think it’s fair to be critical of Beane missing out on a big need while a very competitive team already with a premiere rusher knows they have to get after Mahomes and Wilson and they didn’t sit still. Mean while back at The Bills, we are working on cutting guys who could have been cut almost right as the season ended as it’s not like the guys released so far we’re tough decisions. Not a FAVORABLE look they were trying to portray with the stadium talks etc going on. So we are “busy” trying to figure out if Hughes or Addison will still be around to run it back after two years of not getting past KC. The bad FA dl signings by Beane are catching up to him , along with slow developing dl draft picks like Epenesa. This is just not a great look for Beane right at this moment in time, as we still are dealing with overpaying Star as well. Just because we have Josh doesn’t mean we can sit still with this defense that underperformed in games against good qbs , especially with that terrible performance against KC being fresh in every fans memory. Have to say missing out on a Buffalo guy like this , in an area of need , is a major disappointment in my belief overall in Beane, especially given the poor track record of success he has had in his tenure with D Line talent. He is safe for now because of Allen, but he can’t keep having things like throwing picks and bad FA d line signings while at the same time NOT getting past KC or to the Super Bowl. Critical year for him with the stadium deal etc; Pegulas will be expecting a ROI soon and another early exit this year might actually put him in jeopardy. He is not bulletproof and all the changes going on around him in the AFC are putting him under pressure for a good draft and actually IMPROVING our talent and producing better results this year. It’s early, let’s see how he can turn the “PERCEPTION” battle back in his favor.
  24. Really true. Indy rings a bell and if they get Jimmy G or Mitch , they will be a playoff team we may need to go thru. I like Shaq, he was a guy who played with enthusiasm and I feel with the older vets like hughes et Al , we missed some of that last year and it showed as that D played flat like against lower level teams as Jacksonville. Sometimes you live and learn the grass isn’t always greener elsewhere and I bet Shaq would bring some gratitude , experience , and wanting to be back is about the growth process Mcd is always preaching about. We could, and more importantly , HAVE done worse with some of the d line Beane has gone with ( Murphy for example) in FA and I wouldn’t mind seeing Lawson back being good against the run and he made some key sacks / PBU’s that are things we lack consistency with. I would take him over Epenesa any day because after disappearing again last year , I really have my doubts he becomes the impact guy they thought he would become when he dropped to us. He dropped for a reason , maybe other teams scouts were right about the issues they saw resulting in passing on him. Time will tell but having a vet now like Shaq is what Mcd has chosen previously over guys we would be in a position to get in this draft as there doesn’t seem to be great talent on the edge likely outside of the first round.
  25. I think this too. Just days after Frank was o. With Brown & Tasker and said how ,unchanged he believed in wentz! So even our righteous great guy Frank lied to his old teammate Tasker at the combine , again proving you can’t trust anyone in the NFL this time of year! Lol ! I think you put Mitch under Frank after a year of good coaching w Daboll etc, add Taylor’s run game , all that cap space , and this team ( the only team to eat us by double digits and thoroughly dominate us) is now a huge threat . Add Wilson now with Denver , the Bengals improving , and we are not sure of making it past the divisional or afc championship game esp given all our coming changes. Even Mcd said it’s much different being a coordinator ( compared to qb coach) in his own experience , and cautioned growing pains for our O as “ nothing beats experience “ for Dorsey. It just keeps going back to that blown chance last year. All I hear on podcasts, YouTube etc from our own die hard fans is how we are “ guaranteed to win a SB in the next three years “ , yet the competition is very high in the Afc and we still have not gotten past KC after two consecutive years trying. There are 16 qbs who got to the SB ONCE , Lost , and never made it back to the SB again ( and could be 17 if Burrow doesn’t make it back ) , just reinforcing how difficult it is to get there. This is making this next couple of months extremely important in assessing how Beane can keep this roster improving because other teams are already making big moves; I mean Brady , Stafford, Manning all won Sb’s after switching teams so Wilson in the AFC just made things more challenging. We have a few significant holes to fill , hopefully Beane isn’t forced because of the cap to repeat the mistake of last year by running it back without fixing our d line and CB issues that cost us against KC for the second straight year. FA and the draft are huge to get right this year , and I think we are in for a challenging year based on our roster and coaching changes and a much tougher schedule than last year. If Mitch ends up with Frank , that just makes it even more challenging because I think Frank is an excellent coach and his team physically pounded us ; adding a mobile QB coukd make Indy a terible matchup for us.
