Josh Allen since the KC win last season….22 TD’s and 16 INT’s.
DrPJax replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really great points, and stats with analysis. This trend started mid year last year under Dorsey’s supervision.JOSH said he understood the turnovers could lead to losses. REPEATEDLY STATES he understood, but obviously in certain critical game situations , he reverts to poor decision making that results in point production lost chances , and allows lesser teams to hang around as the self induced pressure keeps intensifying . It’s become a noticeably bad trend , pattern of play, where the BILLS QB no longer distributes the ball to several wrs with any consistency. DAVIS keeps getting few targets and what production IS coming from other than Diggs , beyond the 4 targets to Kincaid? The same offensive lulls keep appearing now. This pattern resulted in teams eventually taking Diggs away, and it’s looking like the same situation is about to recur. What impact did we really get from Hardy or SHERFIELD , after hearing how great they looked in camp? It’s becoming disturbing because JOSH now is not distributing the ball. He keeps forcing deep throws despite open players being free in shorter routes, according to film breakdown gurus over at cover one who brought this up in their post game podcast. . Once Again , we saw Diggs and Davis almost run into each other on a pass pattern similar to the latter part of last season; so is it poor design or is undisciplined wr play, or inadequate coaching ? Once we have a lead , ALLEN seems to do the antithesis of conservative winning football, becoming almost careless and we keep seeing UNFORCED mistake filled decisions leading to turnover deficits that are almost impossible to overcome. As a younger player , these type of decisions would have gotten him benched , but now post contract, he faces no consequences and delivers platitude filled post game pressers where he repeatedly states “ i cant do that”. It almost becomes insulting to listen to as a lifetime fan of the team as i just expected more from an organization led by mcd and beane with JOSH being such a likable personality. This is not the playoff caliber product that MCD preaches is their standard. An 0-5 OT record proves this staff and team has, and will, apparently continue to make crucial game ending mistakes. Tonight was yet a whole new way to lose , as its become the standard to give up some huge runs and then some spectacular last second defensive gaff. As much as i respect MCD as a quality man, it’s becoming a recognizable trademark to have games end with some terrible walk off play. It seems incompatible with expecting post season success ending in a Lombardi trophy; rather , how will we keep finding new ways to lose! Teams like the 49ers, eagles , fins are playing an improving brand of football and they look primed to jump ahead as SB contenders. It’s only one game , yet it feels like a recognizable pattern under this PROCESS. i think its reasonable to ask if MCD’s coaching results have peaked, as his QB with supposedly generational talent, is regressing over certainly the last two games IF NOT MORE. . LEADS don’t feel safe any longer. We lost an in hand , winnable, road, season opening , divisional game to a team tonight who lost a HOF QB WITHIN THE FIRST QUATER, and we even blew a second chance to win with another embarrassing team breakdown ! Maybe they will turn things around ,, but there is a sense of deja vu of prior season ending losses that is hard to feel encouraged by. If the QB PLAY cant be fixed, MCD may be facing his own seat growing very warm, but DORSEY’S SEAT IS ON FIRE. YOU CAN’T BENCH A quarter billion dollar investment, but can you be happy with this type of production? First round draft prospects as healthy scratches; MLB choice not firmly settled despite a whole off season; RT play that has a 6’8” guy being walked back into the pocket several times; lack of a running game compared to a “passing team” like the 49ers ! It just feels like a rinse and repeat of prior disappointments Hoping to see better next week , but cant say I EXPECT better , sadlY, after MCD got out-coached once again by a less tenured coach forced to play a QB he had hoped to replace. Pretty soon even KYLE BRAND may be unhooking his wagon! -
Great point about the team needing to be more physical. I appreciate SIMS/ FLORIO ; they are knowledgeable as any national press is concerning the BILLS, imho. Unfortunately i just watched their season opener predictions and both picked the BILLS to lose straight up Monday. It’s a tough opener). Buffalo has had some history of limiting RODGERS so offensively i think if we avoid one of the inexplicable blowouts that mcd’s teams have occasionally thrown out there ( hey , i know it was preseason, but that first team o /d was abysmal and embarrassing against the STEELERS ,and inexplicable once again). SIMS pointed to the JETS essentially having 2 starting d lines , and we all know o lines take time to gel, so this is a challenging opener in NY, 9/11 being remembered, prime time etc. Florio described the BILLS as a Jenga tower,,wobbly where things could tumble out of control. I also caught PETE PRISCO tonight ( he started in the Jax market and i met him at a bar many years ago where i struck up a conversation w his GF/ now wife, waiting to be served. Told her i liked his work , and she took me over to meet him and we ended up having a few drinks while talking football. Really, really nice guy, and he feels people are sleeping on the BILLS ) who picked the BILLS this week. I prefer PETE’S pick , but florio is usually pretty linked in as an insider , and he / sims kept dwelling on wondering if the BILLs have done enough to keep up with the changing talent in the division. Florio believes thE DIGGS strange issues will recur especially w any early adversity. Sims has been a big Allen / bills guy and he is voicing real concern over the support around ALLEN He doesn’t seem to think this roster has enough proven offensive talent.; surprising after his prior years being almost fan like. I agree , the RB room looks better , esp behind COOK. It comes down to that o line gelling tho as cook has to have holes being he is more elusive and not great breaking tackles. I hope McGovern’s knee is ok , TORRANCE looks legit, and brown seems to be a question medically imo ( who as a 6’ 8’ guy with back issues, in my 42 years in medicine, i cant honestly remember a case where mechanical LOW back issues ever disappeared with time ), Dawkins had huge weight fluctuations ( went up over 375 before dropping 40 lbs on what he described as something akin to a very low cal diet ,which is a little concerning given the reality of possible muscle breakdown in the process) are part of the Jenga metaphor that i hope stays upright to protect JOSH ! The O LINE potential looks better than last year , yet rough place to start that gelling. They sure didn’t look great in Pittsburgh but hopefully that was a preseason anomaly. That and the unexpected Cincy collapse have left questions that only playing well in the opener can shut down. More than prior years, I feel like its a prove it to me mindset this year with mcd/ beane, and with JOSH. Going into this year with HOPEFULLY an improved receiving corp (great add with Kincaid ,but behind DAVIS there is a group of unproven guys who we have to HOPE actually emerge). My main question revolves around DORSEY proving he can be creative enough to stop the big 3rd quarter lulls and use the 12 personnel sets effectively. I would love to see JOSH actually be ok taking what D’s give and him not repeating last years red zone turnover issues. He always states “i cant do that “ , yet he kept repeating mental errors. Hoping Dorsey acts like more than a colleague , but actually more like DABOLL, and demands more from josh regarding his mental choices and prep. . He is a generational talent who makes unbelievable throws, but those spectacular throws cant be negated by careless ints. The first week is going to potentially be a low scoring , tight game. It’s Dorsey who has to help josh reach his greatness; he can’t be passive about addressing mental mistakes like it seemed last year. Daboll is missed more than i expected. ( meanwhile Reid and Mahomes keep looking great on offense with great coaching of avg receivers. Mahomes rarely makes mental mistakes, but had a pick 6 that wasn’t his fault as I’m watching. Josh could do well emulating that as the turnovers are his only achilles heel ) My big hope is that they don’t suffer from bad luck injuries or guys just finally aging. Imo , WHITE, MILLER, PHILLIPS, HYDE, POYER are really at points where they could be great or time could finally overcome them. Hyde had the cervical issue and those don’t usually happen as isolated events and hearing he had some back issues already is another “ Jenga” type issue. Let’s hope they have one last big run left as a group, as they have been great to cheer for. I cant fully understand letting the MLB issue come down to hoping a guy who missed the entire preseason be the starter , while finally grabbing a guy to plug in after cuts. He may be the guy , but I wouldn’t be too shocked if the jets have success running against that under sized LB group before he gets plugged in. It’s just some strange moves like this that at times raise questions about mcd/ beane and their roster choices; they DID make a move , but it took until right before the first week on a known area with no clear starter. Here’s also hoping the DL can actually get a pass rush, unlike how last year played out , prior to VON. I think Floyd little is a critical pick up , and i hope he and GROOT finally produce a consistent. pass rush. Pressures are ok , but you need to get some sacks and not give up those third and longs teams converted so often last year. its exciting to have the season back; here’s to them finally having a year where they don’t beat themselves, coaching comes together, and somehow the crazy tough reg season schedule doesn’t take a toll. I think we can win the opener , but only if we have 1 or less turnovers or win the T O battle. It would be great to open with a win , just to dampen that RODGERS hype and smugness. I really like your point about them lacking physicality previously, and will be looking for a change. Will prob see you in the shout box to say hello. Hope it’s a good start buddy!

Hey buddy, good to see you post prior to the season. You are always a very knowledgeable, and realistic fan and i always enjoy you in the shout box. I was just watching SIMS and FLORIOS podcast about their final predictions of the AFC EAST. Surprisingly, BOTH PREDICTED THE BILLS to finish THIRD OR FOURTH in the division. Sims has always been extremely pro ALLEN. BOTH stated they see turmoil on the team based on DIGGS and the poor preseason play. They cited the entire divisions very difficult schedule making for a rough year. However, they both felt the team , by proxy BEANE, has not done enough, especially offensively by not adding other playmakers ( like Hopkins, Cook, despite drafting Kincaid etc. BTW their words not mine) and again just expect JOSH to be Superman and overcome talent deficiencies. They felt both the JETS & FINS have great rosters now. They cited aging players like VON etc as a weakness that could go either way , but needs addressing. They went as far to say they both expect the BILLS to miss the playoffs and FLORIO barely contained himself from saying the PATS would overtake the BILLLS for third place , but felt he couldn’t go that far to formally say that. Florio did say if the BILLS miss the playoffs, he expects big and sweeping changes in the organization. They really feel the PROCESS/ BEANE have dropped the ball and so far missed the SB window during this time, implying they have not won it all with a great franchise QB unlike the success the chiefs and even the success the Bengals have had (my summary from their prior feelings about Mahomes/burrows. Again, should the BILLS strugggle , they believe changes WILL happen. This is a big change from prior years, esp for SIMS, but he really sees them as not making the playoffs. Having followed the BILLS since ‘63 , i watched them do poorly in the preseason LEVY years, then do well. Mcd is not like LEVY, he usually expects good effort /performances , yet i never felt the preseason mattered greatly to him, but still more than it meant to Levy. However , coming off last season where despite wins, IMHO there were big issues developing and it culminated with CINCY. The Steelers preseason game was abysmal , the last preseason game the first team O looked ok but against a very developing BEARS team. Something just feels different when guys like SIMS, who is pretty tied in and knowledgeable , is pointing out it feels like this front office just doesn’t get it with needing to provide proven offensive talent around JOSH. Predicting his BOY BLUE to miss them playoffs is a big change. I think it comes down to Dorsey’s development, and JOSH finally proving he can take the int/turnover issue seriously and be willing to take short open throws ( which i am not convinced he will ever accept as a premise based on his past years of missing very open short routes) If they perform offensively similarly to the final part of last year, those bad predictions could very well come true. Just wondered what you thought; are you surprised someone like SIMS and Florio think the beane /mcd team could be in trouble, despite extensions, with a missed playoff season? Surprised they see the roster with some very significant weaknesses ( have to admit I’m not sure Von. White ,Hyde, poyer are still the same game changers they were), esp compared to the jets/fins ? I’m really not sure what to expect , but i do feel mcd is coaching for his BILLS future. Should they have any gaffs like 13 sec again ( 10 players for first play in Pitt is a red flag for a vet coach /staff imo with 12 penalties as well), an owner cant keep wasting a talent like ALLEN, and missing the playoffs should be a changing point. I thought McD could be a TOMLIN like coach , but you have to get there at least and win one sometime or that is a mute comparison. I think we will get an indication pretty quickly. This team was mentally out of the Cincy game and unfortunately , this franchise has never won a Lombardi, and they have experienced blowing games in the playoffs where they had leads and looked to be in control. IMO, they need to prove mentally they are past last years collapse. It seems concerning that insiders ( I WAS REALLY SHOCKED SIMS PICKED THEM 3RD in division) are actually stating there is something not right , some behind the scene real issues holding this team back. It’s speculation/opinion, but is very pervasive this year. When you see younger coaches of the EAGLES/ BENGALs having achieved further team goals than mcd/beane , it’s a fair question if they have a philosophy that could actually bring a SB to Buffalo. Here’s hoping we somehow pull out a win against the jets to quiet the press. But , hey , it’s just football , and it’s just good entertainment , not life affecting issues. More importantly, hoping you are well and you have an enjoyable season watching!

Conor Orr (from Si.com) and his prediction: Bills at 9-8 🤔
DrPJax replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is no way to prove any final association with the BILLS final defensive ranking related to edmunds SOLELY. You have multiple factors; WHITE may not ever return to prior form ; a first round draft pick may fail to progress and see the field with ELAM; VON MILLER MAY not return to prior form soon or at all; HYDE AND POYER are both coming off injury filled seasons and are aging; BASHAM AND AJ may fail to progress ; FLOYD , a great signing imo , may not be used as well by mcd and not have his usual 9 plus sacks in his first year in a new system; the CB 2 position may have Jackson staying pat proving BEANE has issues with his drafts ; poona FORD and Tim settle so far have been underwhelming as reported by people like cover 1 and that may harm the run D; PHILIPPS may not fully recover from his shoulder and other injuries issues that continue to plague him here; fraziers loss and mcd’s added burdens may result in more unexpected communication debacles like “13 seconds”. I mean we started the last preseason game with 12 first half penalties and the O started with 10 men on the field for heavens sake, proving once again this staff has communication issues ; the entire schedule is much tougher this year in terms of facing much better opponent QBs , with 2 divisional games now being against a future HOF QB in RODGERS; and there has been no competent competition brought in to compete against DODSON AND BERNARD with NEITHER EVEN GRASPING THE STARTING MLB/ILB job yet and this is more a reflection on MCD& BEANE stubbornly failing to draft or bring in any real players with a history of past success at the position , relying on HOPE JUST AS THET ARE DOING RELATED TO SPENCER BROWN. THERE are just too many factors at play to reach some predetermined conclusion that “ all the people that bashed EDMUNDS on this board “ are in any way wrong about their assessment of his play and worth. Edmunds is apparently having some issues of availability in CHICAGO early on , so it may have been net positive to have let him walk after 5 YEARS of first hand evaluation of his so called stellar play. Let’s see how things play out for him in CHICAGO , before criticizing the BILLS STAFF FOR allowing him to in all likelihood be overpaid relative to his actual results and stats. Let’s see if he remains an impactful mlb for another team. My main point however , is there are too many compounding factors to say any defensive rank drop off is SOLELY RELATED TO MISSING EDMUNDS. The ranking could drop for any or all of the reasons i cited theoretically, but the major issue is not having lost a good ( not exceptional LB), but the crazy HOPING by BEANE that his undersized draft pick Bernard would step right in after barely seeing the field last year. There were some very adequate free agents who could have most likely adequately replace Edmunds , OR EVEN proven to be better replacements , yet BEANE let his ego dictate his replacement strategy , and that may be the most important reason behind any defensive rank drop! BUT we will never really know with all the compounding factors , and if they march KLein out there as the week one starter, BEANE has no one to blame other than himself , and having watched EDMUNDS NON STELLAR PRODUCTION, i would argue they were the ones who let him walk yet never adequately attempted to replace him , and that’s not the fault of ‘the fans who bashed EDMUNDS “ who was known for his trailing technique tackling much more so than him being some hard hitting LB who LEAD THE D TO STELLAR RESULTS. But we’ll never know pending the lackluster insight to attempt to replace him with players he had already beaten out and was superior too. That doesn’t mean he was irreplaceable , just more puzzling MCD Stubbornness,,,,but i could be wrong and only time will give us some clue to the truth. I really like MILANO, but they don’t have any DARYL TALLEY , BENNETT, OR CONLAND, OUT THERE TO SUPPORT HIM , so its another year hoping instead of actively finding a replacement who might be a hard hitter as opposed to the soft EDMUNDS style we lived with far too long! Lol ! Best wishes. Go BILLS! -
I agree. The jest are more evil to me, more of a rival i cant stand. It was a total rogers kiss a$$ fest. Wow, how good was that throw,,,he’s ours , he’s our qb , no other qb can make that throw,,,,then he and Wilson doing blind look throws against no rush. Crap, Wilson couldn’t make throws eyes wide open last year ( Wilson is another narcissistic a hole so having rodgers mentor him seems appropriate) so suddenly rodgers teaching him blind look throws is progress?! Their motto of “what now” after everything to refer to what now after you have supposedly done your regular job was junior high motivational stuff. Rodgers acting like he wants to teach players and Wilson now,( as he has never been fond of helping younger players, is an obvious act in front of the hard knocks cameras) ,,,wearing headphones during the game and joking with Saleh ( who during their hof game seemed to treat rodgers as a fellow staff rather than player) and just all the placing Rodgers on a pedestal crap did nothing for me but solidify why he will always be a narcissistic douche imo. Garrett Wilson is another prima donna wr big mouth as well during practice who would grow tiring very quickly. Throw in the talk by Saleh calling the jets “eagles “ while referring to others as crows , trying to attack the eagles who soar high and cause crows to suffocate added to the “make me gag “ diatribe during the episode. UGH! ,,(,i actually watch several eagle nests on YouTube as its a fascinating process watching their behavior , with one here in Jax area and a very well known one by fort Myers’s, as they hatch and raise a clutch each year. If a crow finds the eagle nest /eggs unattended, i have seen multiple times where the crows outsmart the eagles and destroy and eat the entire clutch. Have never seen a crow fly with an eagle , just quickly strafe by them to get them out of the crows area as eagles raid nests and kill the young of other birds.). Lol. Saleh was implying they are the hunted now in the afc east and they are the Eagles while all other teams are crows !? Pretty petty motivational talk for adults imo. Not going to ever be confused with MARV LEVY! They have done nothing as a team yet, but just having rodgers doing no look throws in practice has them acting as arrogant as he is. Of course the narrator of hard knocks , with rodgers referring to him as ‘the voice of GOD’ , had to fly into practice by helicopter. Liev or however you spell his name , is no john facenda ! Rodgers was fan boying all over him, of course, as star chasing has always been a big part of rodgers facade and plays to his narcissistic self importance. It was an hour of idol worshipping as we kept hearing from players how amazing rodgers is. At one point rodgers gave sauce a compliment , only to have sauce go off on this tangent about his goal to be in the hof. Rodgers , as soon as sauce starts explaining his goals , looks off to his right and looks completely uninterested while sauce goes into his story about his mothers encouragement etc. Rodgers looked so bored as you could read his mind , thinking i couldn’t care less kid and I’m sorry i Said anything to spur your diatribe on about getting to the HOF ,,, get me out of here! Lol, rodgers disinterest in anyone else is why he has a history of going thru relationships and his hobbies are self indulgent “ mind or conscious “ seeking endeavors like his drug experimentation , mind expanding Peruvian adventure. He also said the jets shouldn’t be so negative while losing the HOF GAME , and they need to work on their ‘manifestation “ process of meditation or thinking. It was just more rodgers believing he is on a different intellectual plane than even the coaching staff. It was the nauseating crap psychobabble he is known for. Contrast that to mcds culture of the process , earning things, knowing your teammates well and their families , just the blue collar work ethic with appreciation of the BILLS MAFIA as the team seems genuinely happy to represent the BUFFALO community, not interested in self promotion ( the jets also had method man close out a practice ; all this distracting stuff in just one hard knocks episode). It is a definite contrast in team personas between the BILLS and an arrogant JETS squad. Mcd/beane are approachable and a perfect organizational fit , as is josh and most players on this team including their possible budding star rookie tight end. Sorry for the rant, triggered by a full hour of RODGERS on hard knocks ,,,,add the JETS and RODGERS as villains this season IMO and i hope that first game squashes all the preseason hype that hard knocks is reaffirming. I like the bills as more of an underdog , as even the buffalo plus podcast crew mentioned the BILLS seem more humble , more focused this year with a very productive camp compared to the SB HYPED ,, somewhat self indulgent team from a year ago. Go BILLS!

FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
DrPJax replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
I have watched every match , and this was a good game by both teams. It was definitely the best the USA played in the cup. They had it right there to win , esp with Sweden missing one and the USA keeper blocking one in addition. Smith had played a good game and all she had to do was put her kick in and it would have been over. The usa’s keeper not only blocked one but also kicked her penalty kick in, while 3 USA players , including the always vocal Megan rapinoe , missed their kicks as the Sweden keeper never blocked a single penalty shot. It seemed like karma as RAPINOE was seen dancing on the field after they played poorly against Portugal , yet made it thru to the elimination phase with a 0-0 draw. Many commented, including former USA players , that her’s and the teams resection seemed tone deaf. The USA only managed 5 points in the pre knockout phase with 1 win and two draws; their lowest point total in many cups. The game was really won by the Sweden keeper who blocked 11 shots in the game and many were amazing saves. Personally , I thought it was ironic for Rapinoe , likely playing her last cup , missed her pk so badly. She was a very late substitution and she also played poorly , looking slow and ineffective in her appearance as a sub for Alex Morgan. All i could think was maybe its time to go , as her focus is so much about equal pay , LGBTQ issues etc, when the reason she had any platform to begin with was because the USA won so much as a team focused on soccer, not social issues. It felt similar to all the loud noise heard from the wnba players who complain about pay , yet have a poor product based on market results. It’s ok to have a voice , but it seems they may be forgetting the main reason anyone even looks their way is primarily based on athletic talent and team results. It’s no wonder they are drawing heavy criticism, while at the same time many fans have mixed feelings over their loss as the team appeared arrogant and entitled throughout the cup prior to their best game resulting in the loss. This is not the same USWST that had many role models like Hamm, but now seems more agenda driven, with prior recent players like HOPE being arrested DWI while having her children in the car with her. Nice police cam of her arrest on YouTube. This team is now squandering all the good will they had earned as a great team young American girls could look up to. I agree, they deserved the loss , tho the keeper really played a very good game and even partially blocked swedens winning kick as it barely made it past the goal line only after video review, as the goalie even hit it a second time while it rebounded past her. Tough loss, but you are right , deserved and i really wasn’t upset seeing this US team eat a little humble pie. I understand your view, , but why not keep playing the regular game like the NHL does ? That format has resulted in some great classic overtime games. Why switch to an entirely different format of play to decide such a huge event like a World Cup, after just 30 additional overtime minutes? Hey , even the NFL realized they need be better in the playoffs regarding overtime. While exciting in a way , the pk format gave a result where many felt the best team didn’t move on, just like the BILLS/KC game. I can see pks for regular , pre knockout type games , but i think the final 16 elimination phase deserves a better overtime conclusion and the NHL has it right. ( watching now as England won on pks over Nigeria , and Australia just took the lead 1-0 against Denmark. The World Cup is an event worth watching IMHO ). -
Tygod suing the doctor who hastened Herbert’s ascension
DrPJax replied to FireChans's topic in Off the Wall
Thanks for the info. , I didn’t know that. Is it going to mediation ? Hope you are doing great and getting ready for an exciting season! Really tough schedule this year; if they finally win it all they will have proven they are right up there with the great 90’s teams. The afc looks brutal! I think the D will finally be real under Mcd. it looks like we will finally have a true running game, be able to finish games off and have a real presence in the red zone with the power backs and a rookie tight end who could be a real threat like kelce. Hope they stay healthy. Best wishes and hoping you have a quiet weekend! -
Tygod suing the doctor who hastened Herbert’s ascension
DrPJax replied to FireChans's topic in Off the Wall
I agree with MR WEO, if they are actually going to court , the defense must be very confident as the malpractice insurance company’s legal team always has the option to settle, even without permission from the defending DR who may be 100% certain he did everything required to match community standards regarding the procedure. It’s only about limiting expense for the malpractice insurance company , so to take a chance on more time / more cost with not settling IMO means they are confident they will be successful. Tyrod, of course , could have refused any settlement , and i think he might learn pursuing a jury trial is placing your physical and emotional well being in the hands of lay people and it just adds tremendous uncertainty as no one can completely read or predict how a jury will see things. Tyrol is a multimillionaire from his playing time , so most regular working people may feel resentment or at least find it hard to relate to someone of his stature seeking more money. Also , there is no such thing in the NFL as having a guaranteed starting position locked up and then proving that he lost the starting position solely from his time required to recover from his non-permanent injury of a pneumothorax. I think he will find if he was ever offered a settlement , it’s usually the best to not get greedy and keep pursuing that mystical pot of gold. It reminds me of one of my patients who was a wonderful older man in his late 60’s who went out into his back yard one evening in the dark , and he fell over 6 feet down into his sewage tank as the company putting it in his yard left it uncovered and nothing was placed to warn of any hazards. He fractured several vertebrae in his back upon falling , and he continued to suffer with disabling back pain for all the time until the case ended in court. I really felt for him as the fractures and pain were reasonably temporally related to that fall with no prior history of back issues. In fact, the company responsible offered him a 6 figure settlement, so they obviously felt exposed. However, despite many people telling him to accept the settlement , he shockingly refused it and pressed his legal team to go for more. I know this because i was subpoenaed to testify about his pain and prior lack of back/ vertebral injuries with the exception of mild degenerative arthritis consistent with his age. I really felt this case was a lock ( it was early in my career and since then i learned a great deal about the court system, and eventually did consultant work both for and against DRS for firms and for malpractice insurance companies defending DRS, in an attempt to help them decide if a case might warrant pursuing before they might dump 50k in discovery , only to lose at trial. Firms do all they can to be certain they will have a high probability of winning before going to trial , and ITS A FACT IT IS EXTREMELY LUCRATIVE FOR ATTORNEYS who only need to hit on a couple of cases a year to be very well compensated.). Sadly, and beyond all logic , the jury was somehow convinced there was doubt that the fall and fractures could result in chronic pain in a geriatric , very sympathetic man in my eyes, and they REWARDED HIM ZERO,,,NADA,,,ZIP ,,( I don’t know but i am only inferring they were never made aware of the companies settlement offer prior to the elderly gentleman pushing to go to court ) and he lost all the proposed settlement plus all the attorneys fees he also was now responsible for. It was terrible ; IMHO this guy was not a faker in the years i had cared for him, and i actually remember being brought to tears as he told me the outcome ( i was only present in court a couple of days testifying and had to be back at my office seeing regular patients so I didn’t know until he returned to my office later and filled me in on the sad turn of events). I never did find out why the jury went against him , rewarding him noting. The company must have found a very convincing expert who somehow negated what i thought was a strong case. Maybe the jury thought he was greedy or they just didn’t like him; going to trial is a roll of the dice,,,,i mean OJ wasn’t guilty?!? That case forever changed my perception of our legal system; you never want to go to a jury trial because you never know why , or what influences a jury. My point from experience is that if TYROD IS pushing this , and knowing the procedure he had done and having done it probably hundreds of times over a long career while explaining to people that pneumothorax is a known risk, and one happening is usually not an indication of malpractice or malicious negligence because when nerve blocks or trigger points are done along a rib or into the muscles of ones back , despite all the steps you can take to lessen the risk , everyone is different and the risk is never zero! I just think it’s a tough malpractice case to prove and Tyrod might find out even if the DR made a mistake, a jury is a scary thing/group to place your faith in. To this day I still remember that poor man and i was 100% certain he was injured by his septic tank fall , but maybe he would have gotten closure or justice had he just not looked at it as a gravy train and accepted the initial offer !? One last true story ; i was just out of residency and just started working for my new employer who was a really smart, good dr who owned the urgent care centers i started in to get me down to Florida and away from cold Ohio. He came in one day with pain in his traps and around his scapula from working out. He walked in ( he happened to be a very experienced ER DR ) while i was on duty and asked if i could do a trigger point injection in the areas to speed up his recovery. I had done many before and had been trained by a very well known rheumatologist who was also a power lifter and a perfectionist as a dr. So i told my boss / employer dr , no problem and i felt very confident. Right before i was about to give him the injection he blurted out, “ you better not drop my lung”! WHAT!?! LOL ! I hadn’t even thought of that because i was young, cocky and still very inexperienced compared to him! ! Lol,,,thank God things went ok but i still remember the anxiety he triggered and even being a little fearful as i was doing the injection even tho i had done lots of them with no issue. Lol,,,,i bet the guy who did TYROD will never forget that day and i bet he always feels a little queasy and anxious thinking about it. No DOC ever want to harm someone, TYROD, and no amount of money awarded will recover your job or punish the dr more than he has probably caused himself since it happened. GO BILLS! ( Floyd will be our defensive mvp , great signing, cant wait to watch him and I’m thinking he will be what we hoped von would be !). -
What role did the sun play in almost losing to a third string led fins team at home in bufffalo as they barely won a 3 Point squeaker , only to be outcoached by the Bengals head coach with much less tenure? I guess you think he coached well against the TEXANS and both losses to KC? NO SUN IN THOSE GAMES. Regarding cowherd, Having had season tickets in JAX thru the coughlin years , the only similarity is their press conferences are worthless. Tom was more rigid , and got what he wanted as it was his way or get out. Mcd is almost paranoid about info getting out, so that IS coughlin lite. Mcds coaching gaffs have lead t0 a .500 playoff record and he has made 1 afc championship while kc has two titles, bengals at least made it to 2 afc championships and a SB with less experience at qb and HC, as have the EAGLES with a less experienced HC and less talented franchise qb. COUGHLIN 2 SB WINS, mcd zero appearances. I suppose Cowherds next point will be ELI was more talented than JOSH? Yeah, coaching matters in the playoffs. ( the jags teams were built from other teams castoffs, and didn’t have talent until Boselli and Taylor were drafted ; funny how bills help other teams roster development as Taylor / mahomes are where they ended up related to bills draft choices !) Tom did not lose games with ridiculous , repetitive coaching gaffs; he was saddled with lesser talent as an expansion team until the run where they beat both the BILLS AND BRONCOS on their home fields in 96. The diggs issue would never occur under coughlin; either diggs would be used correctly like smith or McCardel or he would be gone. He would never be seen upstaging the qb and coughlin would not be seen with his arm around DIGGS, consoling him. There seems to have been a lack of accountability in the coaching ranks with mcd; this year might show its really been issues primarily with mcd. People on live podcasts last night were saying the diggs behavior is nothing, just overblown clickbait by fans and press. Meanwhile florio is reporting DIGGS is unhappy with his role in the o and playcalling. Put your head in the sand if you wish to , but this is more evidence Dorsey was not ready for last year. After watching an unimaginative o struggle the second half of the season until they imploded against the bengals. scoring JUST 10 points at home , it could be plausible diggs has seen some of the current Dorsey play book and his unhappiness could have a well founded basis. This isn’t going to just disappear. You can have all the new talent infused you want , but its about creatively using that talent , and if an OC and qb are ok with a talent like diggs getting 0 targets in some halves, allowing teams to take him away as they were scheming for GABE to prove he could beat them, and it appears diggs just fired more warning shots that Dorsey may not be a highly qualified OC capable of developing a SB WINNING offense. Allen hand picked Dorsey; seems obvious why the relationship w diggs is strained and josh went overboard to the press to prove diggs is his guy and he will “do better”. We have heard josh say he would do better so many times about ints, fumbles, taking bad sacks losing fg position etc, and the fact is he actually needs to if he wishes to win the SB he wants for BUFFALO and that goal goes thru diggs per joshes own statement. Imagine this wr corp without diggs if he chose to sit out; hard to think of beating kc, Cincy , Miami, not to mention the rising eagles without a true #1 wr. It took a lot for DIGGS to confront Mcbeane. They need to listen ; some of those games were horrible to watch with receivers almost running into each other. This doesnt seem like the process or unified vision like mcd has preached, and despite things like the better RB ROOM, Dorsey and josh struggle handing the ball off based on past performances and Dorsey needs to prove he can develop an offense that can be effective in different conditions and when teams are daring the bills to run. I can see digg ‘s points ; Dorsey AND mcd have to show they can adapt. Back to COWHERD, Coughlin did adapt and won 2 SB’S. Mcd is no coughlin YET; this year will prove if he can do more than just create a player centric culture. He has to prove he has learned to adapt and can win while having an extremely talented qb and very good roster. So far all he has proven is he can be outcoached come playoff time. Those are the facts. Great guy, but if you don’t win with ALLEN, it’s a career and time wasted, and as an owner I would take a chance i might find better. It’s about the Lombardi , not afc east titles. It’s cliche , but where there’s smoke , there’s fire, and when a guy who will get 24 mil is complaining something’s burning.

There is no BUT here. ALLEN has Diggs who is a better receiver , route runner than Reed. What he cant do better is break tackles and reed routes were more crossing , reed being more physical and had more RAC as he could take contact. He never just went down or OOB, like Diggs is prone too, but Diggs is technically a better technical route runner who is prob better catching , but his rac is noe like reeds. Still , Allen has a comparable #1. Lofton was at the end of his career , was good on straight go routes, and had better hands than Davis. Davis can’t separate like lofton , yet really lofton had maybe 1 or two good years , so if Davis could catch , the two wr could be just as productive as a very aging lofton was. Beebe was the real burner and was used as the 3 , not just slot only. He had some great games but was not a hugely consistent producer. They did have 2 TE’S with METZALLARS, MCKELLER , both being better blockers than huge producers in the passing game. Dawkins is not the blocker , but has more speed and better hands and is an under utilized weapon by the current OC. Last year ALLEN had no consistent 3 rd guy to keep this PREDOMINANTLY PASSING OFFENSE being able to be great at short yardage or in goa line situations. To prove how great ALLEN IS , this team has a porous o line ( the Kelly BILLS had great o lines , remember Kelly was slow compared to Allen , not nearly having the speed or escapability that ALLEN has. ). That is more the real difference rather than receivers being so much better in the Kelly era. Kelly had time , last YEAR ALLEN was under siege almost every play. But also the huge difference , that o line blew open holes for Thurman who lead the league in yards from scrimmage for 3 consecutive seasons! Thurman had speed , power , could pass protect , was dependable in short yardage and around the goal line. His other big advantage was he had great hands, was great running screens and was also a reliable receiver with wheel routes and he was money on third downs. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A BACK OR PRODUCTION FROM THE BACKFIELD AT ANY TIME DURING BEANE / McD regime ? Of course not. They get the majority of production from ALLEN PASSING AND RUNNING , and it is easier to stop one player , or if that one player has a sub par performance , there is no one to go to out of the backfield. It’s the most glaring weakness, lack of insight , stubbornness by the OC’S , i have seen watching football for 40 plus years. The RB BY COMMITTEE, means you lack ONE TALENTED BACK , and the sub packages are tells for opposing teams. If you take ALLENS RUNNING OUT , the actual production of the running game and from these backs is not good, not acceptable , and teams know if you can get ALLEN off his game, there is no replaceable threat or player to make teams game plan against, and it shows up in bad weather, against better teams in the playoffs , and in goal line / short yardage situations. Having a STAR , TALENTED 3 DOWN BACK, like Kelly said , is a huge strategic hole regardless of era. You need a second star , not just these rotatable, replaceable , backs who all have deficits in parts of their game. We can’t even run simple screens, we cant depend on any one back to get those short yardage situations on 3rd or 4th downs , and they have so far not create consistent mismatches as receivers coming out of the backfield. A big issue is the o line and inconsistent schemes that the oc kept flipping on last year , as stated by john fina , a good tackle who started in sb 27 as a rookie and played 10 years foe the BILLS. But Kelly is right , this coaching staff has refused to make an effort to get a real difference maker at the RBI’s position , following most nfl teams devaluing the position rather than leading. More than another wr , whose production depends so much on Allen , designed routes , and o line play ( so many factors) , get that unusual back who gets yards despite poor blocking at times , can dependably catch and not fumble in critical times , and suddenly your passing O is better as lbs cant drop as much. You dictate them to load the box at times , opening up things for play action. Plus you preserve JOSH. Tell me the DOWNSIDE IN HAVING A VERY GOOD BACK OR SPENDING A HIGH PICK ON A UNIQUE TALENT LIKE BIJON, please! We got to 4 SB’s with a great back ;however, we lost as the d was avg, the qb play was not good, and uncharacteristically , other than SB25 , Thurman had bad games as he mentally collapsed after fumbling, but the reason we got there , was having a great back and very good QB and o line play. WE have the star QB, but too much of the game plan relies on him and we need a RB to hand off too , use in screens in bad weather and negating rushes etc , if this team expecte to actually win a SB. Ask manning, elway , and Marino about success or lack of it, winning a SB regarding the importance of playing with a great back.

What was McDermott’s defense like in Carolina?

Great breakdown and review of mcd as d c. Also has RAPPs breakdown and ways mcd might use him. After watching this, i came away finally having some enthusiasm for the season return , as for the past two years it was a feeling of futility watching Fraziers soft zone , never adapting , teams converting 3rd and long routinely, lack of sacks or finishing, and it culminated in humiliating fashions both years as the d failed to hold a lead or with CINCY, just watching them move the ball at will aa we were never in the game. After watching this , i am more convinced FRAZIER didn’t just “take a year off’ , and I’m sure he will not return to the BILLS in that dc capacity again. This breakdown , IMO, shows a huge philosophical difference between mcd and Frazier , and i think over the years mcd went into his HC role and had less ans less to do with how th d was run or game planning , as he appropriately trusted Frazier , who is such a likable man , and I’m sure helped mcd in his transformation to being a HC. I would bet mcd finally realized this D was no longer going to work come playoff time or even in the more highly competitive AFC east. I would bet mcd knew FRAZIER couldn’t adapt, and pro had lengthy discussions and finally Frazier realized his own weaknesses and they came up with a plan that allows Frazier to step away, but it looked like his choice, and keeps his options with all other teams intact to return. It avoids retiring, more importantly it avoids the negative apperance of being fired or released. Frazier walks away not being a scapegoat. I just think if the d does change with mcd at the dc position, it would be compatible with mcd realizing he wants an aggressive D ( gosh i hope so ) and who better to get back to that than he running it himself as the others on staff are groomed to eventually take over and allow mcd to return to focusing on HC responsibilities. The team seemed to be at a crossroads , Almost losing to the fins with a sub QB, before begging taken apart by Cincy. With the afc east alll looking to have pretty competent qb play and coaching, a change was needed and this might be a great solution . ALLEN will only be in his prime so long, and watching the last 2 years blown opportunities, reality sinks in as those chances don’t come automatically or often. I hope MCD does up things with the stunts etc , as cover 1 showed just how predictable and beatable this bend but don’t break , Frazier d had become. This is not dumping on FRAZIER, but despite his statistically successful D, it was his responsibility for the playoff terrible D calls, and those shots with guys way off the line in both those 2 playoff losses are just not deniable despite all the FRAZIER apologists who kept arguing those pics meant nothing without knowing responsibilities. The bottom line is the results of the plays were failures ,the players under Frazier lacked situational awareness, and the team lost both games. If you watch the podcast and still say you would prefer FRAZIER still running the D, we just have nothing to discuss when you keep denying all video evidence presented. This helps with the draft , as if mcd runs that form of d discussed, you don’t need another Edmunds, just a smart guy with instincts and some coverage ability. You do need a guy who doesn’t get dominated by o linemen , who is aggressive enough to attack and finish sacks and tackles well. I hope they know who they have in mind and don’t get too greedy trying to drop back much. Those ratings are all subjective and it just takes one pick to lose your guy; we don’t have any other glaring need so get your guy at 27 and move on. You can drop later when many guys are on the same talent tier. Get a guy who can play now, get some young wr talent that you allow to play , and get competition depth the rest of the way. If mcd runs the same D he did in Carolina in 2015-16 w some tweeks, i can actually say it would be exciting to watch and with the Frazier /soft zone not dominating game plans, we can really challenge for a SB title which was not happening without those changes. -
Bills Rank 9th in NFLPA Team Report Card

Not sure what type of work pays for or encourages drinking while working, would be interested to find out what th product is. Thoughts tho ; if you drink at work and have an accident /dui , isn’t the company exposed? Many great people suffer from the diseases of addiction, again not sure how providing abusive substances at work would not further expose the company to legal implications and work comp issues. If a company provides impairing things to ingest at work, not sure i would trust their products from a quality standpoint. Asking for a friend ! I’m sorry , this just seems absurd to me and in what state /country is this enterprise? Hard to believe anywhere in the states could exist like this in todays legal climate. Do they have to pay for a liquor license or because they give it away they have a loophole to avoid needing a license? What line of work , product is BETTER if employees are allowed to consume alcohol while producing that product , unless it’s testing pharmaceuticals for addiction treatment? This is just hard to believe ! Lol! This sounds like , if located in the states, would be somewhere that the legal system is very loose on crime , like a state with no cash bail or where prosecutors allow stealing up to certain levels before prosecuting. I have worked in lots of types of jobs , fields of interest , but never encountered a company serving alcoholic beverages on site for EMPLOYEES,,,,i mean it sounds like a bar , so did you actually mean to imply workers could consume alcohol while at work or were they present for customers ? SMDH,,,,,this just doesn’t sound real in any sane way ! Maybe the joke /sarcasm went over my head , its late, I’m sleepy,,, must be a dream. I 😀 -
NFL Network layoffs begin, ESPN layoffs expected

Agreed. I don’t want to watch someone who is so narcissistic that they are only there to promote themselves ABOVE the actual sport they are hired to talk about and the only reason they are employed in the first place. If he is playing , acting some part , he is in above his skill abilities, and it’s gotten old, when a loud hack thinks his Schtick is the main event. I don't need to be entertained by someone giving scores or a game synopsis , as the main source of entertainment i enjoy by choice is the actual sporting event itself. The myriad of talk shows , pre and post game shows , has exploded like a bunch of ticks /leeches , all fighting for relevance with more and more over the top acts that frankly shouldn’t survive or be missed if they disappear. I dont need some wanna be comic commenting on my plumbers work, or doing YouTube videos while I’m suturing someone’s laceration. How bout you go out and get some real life skills , produce something tangible, go do some labor or get a degree as a chemist /pharmacist so all of our medicines , PPE, industries are not all owned and being done in china for example? It’s the same analogy with that guy constantly throwing out his narcissistic opinions without ever having enough talent to have played at any high level himself. Buy into that stuff if you want too, but i am intelligent enough that i dont need to be spoon fed someone else’s insincere opinions just so he can be paid for something that is often wrong and has no long term tangible useful end product. If i want to see a movie, watch acting, watch fiction, i can turn on HBO max or Disney and at least there the quality of the performance and fiction is usually relaxing, not having someone shrieking their own opinions at me. I will never understand how this guy is popular; all i will say is you rarely see many intellectuals talking about him or his great insights regarding many issues. 🤮 -
Hahaha! My kind of guy! Always seeing the upside, the positive side to every situation ; and knowing it’s very unlikely with our luck that we ever get to experience that side of life ! Yep, RAPP may interfere with our destiny to reach # 32! 😂👍. I like the way you think , no dream is too small to be shattered ! 😂

Really is a great question; have no idea after watching the film on him how he didn’t get grabbed for a lot more. My only thoughts are maybe they sold him on the reality of Hyde coming off neck surgery, on his last year of this contract , and Poyer is coming off multiple injuries and also could be his last year if the bills would win a SB (PER POYER). Great chance he gets significant playing time this year and could be the starter the following year and look at the run Hyde/Poyer have had; play well as a vet and he has a shot at starting along with a good chance of extension and stability. Great tandem to learn from , HC is great with developing defensive backfield talent , plus throw in playing on a team with a franchise qb , and maybe those factors were enough to see a bigger picture for the future and some runs at a SB. Also , get a chance to go against great QBs conference wide. Just seems we got lucky on this one.

Yes i commented on it very positively at the end of a post about josh running etc. i stated i came away very excited after i watched ERIC TURNER of cover 1 just post his film breakdown on YouTube on RAPPS great plays from last year. It’s definitely worth the ten minute breakdown by ERIC , who showed the great tackling ( bills were 31st in missed tackles last year missing over 13%, while RAPP MISSES ABOUT ONLY 6% which is great) , his ability to stop the run, his TEcoverage ability , and his PBU /INT abilities! This was a great film breakdown , and this guy could easily be a starter and is great insurance if Poyer has injury issues again. He looks like a great tool for mcd to use and i think this is a proven , very good system fit , and up there with the McGovern value. He actually has very positive film, not just a few plays or potential like some wr signings. Very good acquisition, and no benefit to me by recommending ERIC TURNERS cover 1 YouTube analysis just posted. If you have questions about RAPP, take 10 min to watch that YouTube post and you will feel more informed and intelligent for having watched it!

It was really just answering a reporter politely, not just going to coach speak immediately like he usually does. I didn’t watch much , but caught that part and he didn’t state anything he and every analyst in the world hasn’t already stated. I did see an interesting blurb by teddy bruschi, saying he thought if he was SEAN , he would go to ALLEN and negotiate with him to help make this happen early in the year; trust him the first part of the season to help avoid the hits accumulating , but telling ALLLEN when its later in the season or playoff time , its cut him loose time and he can run as he has. It was an interesting take on it , great way to help ALLEN buy in and not feel limited in his style. Coming from a former player , i thought it was a great compromise way to present it to josh , who IMO, does need to “HEAR” things in a way he will accept as best for the team and its presenting things in a cooperative fashion. What would you have had SEAN do ; say nothing meaningful , lacking any sincerity to a reporter who has a long association with the NFL and one he must talk to in the future ; ignore a politely asked question as there was no nefarious meaning behind the question ? He was just being a good man, good BILLS representative for the organization, not just deflecting like some clown coaches do (rexy like)! It was a harmless , classy answer , and people overreacting to it are being ridiculous and are just showing proof they either didn’t see it or just are trolling to stroke their own need to be heard. It was cordial , and much better than the typical coach speak crap that comes from this staff all in-season long. 😀👍. I hate the in-season tripe; this was at least a thoughtful answer and in no way would offend Josh.
-
It didn’t come across as desperate, or harsh. Sean was smiling , but it did come across as something firm and committed too. It really didn’t seem out of place IMO, and i agree with you about running things thru media. It was just a common sense answer to a fair question in a relaxed McDermott interview. Not a big issue in this case IMO, as he also was praising josh , yet stating even great players need to EVOLVE their game. It was a positive affect , candid statement.
-
It’s about being sincerely coachable, as Josh states he is. But i agree with you,,,he says one thing , “ we cant do that” about a million times regarding turnovers, yet we saw one of his worst years last year regarding turnovers. There is a certain stubbornness , as if he enjoys things like the angry run awards from Brandt, that speaks to some ego that josh seems to have, and while ego in a franchise QB is desirable , so is putting some of that aside with growth and team needs. Josh has given lots of lip service to protecting himself regarding sliding, but SEAN seems to be sending firm messages and he doesn’t want to see CAM 2.0 , so i expect Dorsey and Josh both hear this as a firm directive this year , at least for most of the season. However , if SEAN wants this , it requires a decent o line and it may require more than just HARRIS. It may still mean if available, getting a true RB upgrade in the terms of drafting a talent like BIJON if possible. Harris is slightly different than motor , augmented if you put him behind a good line as after comparing career stats, Harris and motor don’t appear drastically different. BIJON is a more talented back and actually , according to Greg Cosell , a true three down bell cow type talent. SEAN has seen the writing on the wall; running , mobile QBS still don’t last long taking hits in the NFL, and SEANS future is tied to keeping Josh healthy and playing. We’ve heard this the prior 2 seasons about josh being protected and not being the primary runner; it’s time to assure it happens. Three additions have helped the o line via FA; They also added to the O with some new wr talent , and finally they helped the RB room some as well. All 3 areas can still get more talent via the draft and should. For example, I wanted Dobbins over Epenesa 2 years ago , Dobbins being available when they grabbed epenesa, and so far that still seems like we missed on that pick. It would be great and I would love to see BEANE make an attempt to add a very unique RB talent in BIJON, as the other positions will still have tiered talent later in the draft that can help the BILLS. It would be a real step in helping protect Josh with a very unique RB , providing help by going for a guy on a talent tier by himself, and finally give this directive of protecting josh some real assets rather than just talking about it ! BTW, for those who posted the critical stuff about signing RAPP, Eric from cover 1 just posted a great video breakdown on YouTube on him. This guy looks absolutely like a great addition. Bills were 31st in missed tackles last year. This guy doesn’t miss tackles , great at run stopping, covering the TE, can get PBU’S and ints, BUT wow, this guy doesn’t miss tackles. Watching Eric break down his performance from last year , i am really excited about this addition, and i bet you will be as well. Highly recommend Eric Turners cover 1 , 10 min film breakdown on RAPP, JUST posted on youtube! This guy is an exciting player and looks to be a GREAT addition in the SEAN MCDERMOTT defensive toolbox ! It’s worth your time if you have questions about RAPP, and it takes a lot for me to recommend most types of off season content , but this breakdown was very well done and if you cant believe your eyes after this , not sure how to convince you. I 😀👍

This is about all that wasn’t coach speak , which mcd has become an ultimate professional at , so much so i admit i clicked away after 2 min and missed the above statement. Imo, the whole preseason talk from one BILLS DRIVE, is non productive listening time and i get just as much insight from certain posts on here compered to small tidbits of things this staff dwell in. The signings are interesting , but after last year I’m sorry , IMO until i see something happen on the field, the rest of all the talk shows, mock drafts, etc mean nothing and are no longer predictive of anything. It’s just constant talk, opinions from content creators reaching for something relevant. After trading for Hines, bringing in smoke, Beas, drafting cook, shakir , etc and all sparingly being used, i have no reason to trust “TALK” until i see the actual product being used or created on the field during the actual season. Sorry, just an evolution what one can expect with this staff regarding the team at this time of the year, reminding all this is still even prior to the draft so factual roster composition is impossible. That’s said, thanks for posting this ,( those are two of the more entertaining cover 1 guys , along with Greg, Eric, and Aaron who are quite knowledgeable , very good in SMALL doses, compared to at times the lengthy podcasts that are longer than the NFL games they report on or analyze! 😊) and I appreciate the fact this came from MCD personally. Pretty shocking as i would have thought he might have held on to this post draft , up till the 1st game as i was certain he would state the opponent not knowing the exact D play caller would be a competitive advantage!!! 😂. This is great , now the D results can be evaluated knowing for the 1st time , 100% who is making those 3rd & long calls, who is responsible for rotations, who is calling blitzes , etc! I think this is happening related to those prior EPIC PLAYOFF LOSSES ( Keeping Frazier’s move included, as he may be experiencing true burnout or considering retirement but knows you cant put that out there till you do it or perceptually you have retired), and it is quite possible SEAN may have perceived finally that playoff failures , despite reg season success , are not a path to a long future with the Bills. This is perhaps the BEST direct way to determine IF you have the CORRECT man leading the BILLS now, who have a franchise QB in place, or might owners need to CONSIDER a change in the future if they fall short of reasonable expectations baring unforeseen complications like an injury to a player of Josh’s stature for example. I really like this move and IMO, is as key as any player additions. Other HC’S also call plays , and have demonstrated success, so MCD who is in all likelihood the best dc currently on this staff, should give this years rendition its best shot to compete for a SB title. There is no confusion, it removes communication errors that cost a crucial loss in the past, and now the D’S play and philosophy is CLEAR from day 1 !! I really believe this keeps the BILLS equal with other EAST teams improvements , because the failures have usually been defensive breakdowns and i think we see a more aggressive D than at any time under FRAZIER. KUDOS to MCD for accepting this added responsibility AND making it fully transparent, and there is no way this choice can be viewed as an excuse if we see similar defensive gaffs at crucial game times or during the playoffs. Thanks again for the post !

Good points and analysis. So far this looks like a slight improvement with saffold gone. ( Edwards looks very round faced , somewhat plethoric , didn’t have great recent stats , so I don’t see him as anything but a backup. McGovern , looks athletic on the other hand ). So people are ignoring Hyde had a CERVICAL FUSION, as stated on if the walls could talk , spielman had the same surgery and did not play the same or overcome it. Having had much more extensive fusions at 4 levels , 5th needed, I just can’t imagine feeling the same despite, it being only a single level for Hyde. Love the guy , really hope it works but no guarantees he is the same great safety. Poyer also coming off a rough year , so hope this is not a warning sign. We wont have Miller until who knows, and our lack of sacks has not been upgraded. Expecting expenesa to Be different is , imho, wishful thinking. Basham could improve but again, odds seem against him. I do have HIGH HOPES , we get a Young LB, and we will learn we can indeed be ok or better against the run and get more impact plays than BILS fans accepted as good production, IF they draft one of a few good lbs that’s could be available. That leaves a legit competitor wr for the wr 2 spot. Without that in FA/ or draft , we are left hoping Gabe and guys with potential break out. Finally , i agree with greggtx, RB is prob improved in the goal line /short yardage area ,but how great would it be to get a difference making back on a 5 year deal , like BIJON. If not available , the tall wr suggested by Jeremiah / and others , who wins contested balls would also be a good move and get a lb in round 2. But so far it is a lot of lateral moves that could prove better If they pan out. Beane has been very average with his success at FA signings after DIGGS ( cant judge miller fairly as he was hurt before playofff competition ever began). Certainly , it doesn’t look like anything resembling any huge gain in talent so far. Hopkins becoming a BILL , would actually be that edge that MILLER was supposed to add to the d last year and did for a short period , but that’s the rub, the trophy is handed out in feb so you cant just ignore injuries, surgeries, aging , and what your competitors are adding. It’s a long process , very far away yet, but at this point there is no great addition ( well, if Sean calls the d that could be huge vs more Frazier) , just seems like hoping guys will finallly break out and produce , so lets see how the draft goes. Have to admit tho, the way our 1st round pick and cook were used last year , who can be certain what the draft results will really mean? Drafting , then barely playing those rookies like last year, to me , means i will hold off judgement / hopes until i see the end result of them actually being active and playing. I would love Campbell , but they need to solidify talent for josh to throw too , and two slot type guys , imo , is not solving the issue yet. Rich Eisen agrees, suggesting Hopkins should be a goal ( funny he suggested getting Henry as well, seriously, and dealing with cap issues like LA later, AFTER you finally have your SB ring!

It means the coaching was not acceptable, going with someone they felt comfortable with vs trying something new. Don’t throw out ypg crap which means nothing situationally , this was by the eye test a very average back who couldn’t catch dependably and fumbled. He had 13 career fumbles compared to the newly signed backs 3. He was not dependable AT CRITICAL TIMES INCLUDING PLAYOFF GAMES , yet this staff chose to keep cook and Hines on the bench predominantly, or weren’t creative enough to find ways to use them regularly. . We know little about the guys we still have and that’s the coaching staffs fault , Dorsey or whomever was responsible. What’s wrong with being ok with them moving on and not bringing back an OK back that ran his course for 4 years , knowing he lacked speed ( 4.6 40 ) and was not a consistent back in making impact plays or in most ways despite whatever they kindly say about him in the press, which is a classy thing , BUT does not mean that’s how he was viewed behind closed doors. If he does turn into some pro bowl talent, it’s just further evidence that issues are this staff. Doubt that happens, zebras rarely change their stripes. People might attack me , insult me with crap statements like “no disrespect” , which is just a guise for being disrespectful as they mean their OPINION is obviously the correct one and they have a need to make it known rather than just politely moving on, ( like opinionated , alphawuss, and not you in anyway ngbills ! ) , but i stand by my opinions i posted. I think i have been validated with my OPINIONS, about edmunds /motor/McKenzie, being expendable and not likely coming back. Not saying that to be a wise a$$ but just that so many BILLS fans turn into such blind fans, they cant listen to any reason ; despite having a unicorn qb who has sniffed the afc championship 1 x compared to mahomes, who is just a year older but with 2 SB wins, we should have been more accomplished than we are. This has to raise concerns about the process and its implementation. Younger staffs on Cincy, eagles, and MAYBE the fins & jets , have or are poised to bypass mcd in his 6th year. I am encouraged slightly by all the staff changes. We have had reg season success, but post season spectacular failings ( Houston , 13 seconds, Cincy game) are examples during mcd’s 4-5 postseason. My largest concern /issue with this staff is the concept of so much rotation in many aspects , which ends up with less talented players playing much higher snaps than they should. McD is a Great human being, but honestly, it is time he has post season success as a true measurement of progress and the learning he repeatedly talks about. That CINCY game was another spectacular failure , and its time for those spectacular losses to just not keep happening IN THE POSTSEASON . Along that line, despite how impressive the new back signing looks, it is still a slight red flag for me about this staff , esp with a very inexperienced oc in Dorsey. Really good teams usually are able to chose a bell cow/ # 1 Back whose traits they chose to depend on. The 90’s teams relied on thurm mostly and Davis who was not extremely diff, just not the receiver thurm was. So , here we go once again with 3 backs of supposedly different traits, and it is dependent on Dorsey to find how to best use them while not giving away tendencies with his packages. I think it might work better than w/ motor but why wont this staff just buy into getting/drafting a 3 down , dependable , back who is THE go to guy , and sub when he needs a blow. That’s different that rotating packages. So while better and perhaps cap concerns dictate everything, i am not sure this staffs rotation emphasis is as successful as we are seeing other organizations having success sticking with less rotations of personnel. KC seems to win without that same rotational dependency. I just wish they would go all in and try to get a talent like BIJON ( many analysts are saying the pats will take him so we may have no real shot), or the second overall rated back for example. Sorry, but once again , we are apparently rotating people , and it could work with different talent , but it could also be a repeat with Harris who is a slight improvement , but he is not a 1st/2nd round talent. He only did 21 pass pro reps in a season, so hopefully he is just running: but isn’t that a tendency give away yet again? Harris’s and motor stats were almost identical except Harris was better in the afc east , which included the bills and we don’t play ourselves ! Maybe they turn COOK loose and use his speed ; maybe Harris is the goal line /short yardage guy only. My issue is why cant they find or commit to getting a true game changing back? We still can with the approaching draft , this signing excludes nothing. I hope they keep adding offensive talent. We can win a SB , but our route there is doing everything we can to support Josh in all offensive facets. Like i think ngbills is addressing; we may have more coaching issues than prior talent issues, but imo , moving on from motor was inevitable as we didn’t achieve the ultimate goal with him.

Yeah, i bet he is confused. He also did nothing to get thrown off the plane; always totally innocent. He put that out there knowing how to manipulate the media, now acting. “Confused” as in all reality only one guy is willing to throw that type of money his way, JERRY JONES. Yesterday on Sirius KIRWIN said he personally would only do an incentive laden deal with him after two acl injuries making him a very high risk signing. HOWEVER, kirwin said jerry has been talking to him and has been enamored with him a long time. If anyone would or could throw that type of cash to OBJ, kirwin said it would be jerry and he felt the cow fools are not far from closing a deal with him., but it could be a problem the following year when they have to pay jeudy, who is not going to settle for 8 mil a year with obj getting 20 ( jones has worked this type of deal before with huge signing bonus spread out over many years to soften cap blow. KIRWIN said Jerry’s son should talk his dad down from obj, and mention the issues they will have to face the following year. Don’t shoot the messenger. Was just driving and listening to kirwin/miller for a couple hours late yesterday afternoon , and that’s when Pat said how much JERRY wants OBJ , and said he didn’t believe a deal was that far off OBJ prob heard the show or reports about it ,, so now comes the denial about 20 mil year,,,and kirwin believed obj was the guy leaking that number to the press, so todays claim of innocence is not surprising. He is truly an angel ; players like him so this is just like the giving girl on prom night trying to recoup her reputation the next day as the prom guy is filling in all his buddies,,,,lol,,,,yeah nothing happened cuz certain things don’t really count as sex, right? 😀,,,,,,,obj just got home from his prom in the Dallas area!

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem
DrPJax replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn’t we do that with edmunds? Wagner cant cover if they plan on same D. Draft looking more likely, Dodson isn’t bad, plus we have last years 3 rd round pick as well with experience,,,,,not playing experience but those mental reps are part of the process! Besides, this is the year of the O everybody called for since the CINCY loss! PO is back and confident , feels great which is good to hear. He and Hyde will be there unlike last year when both could be considered in all practicality, missing in action due to injury. With them back , no matter who is inserted , the d will be better than last year , or at worst pretty equivalent. If they could somehow luck into Jack Campbell , was listening to kirwin on Sirius , and he believes he is great athlete , plug and play and will be a starting iLB/MLB for a team like the bills this year. There is also the 2nd ratedLB in the draft , name escaping me , but the film room guys from cover one are very high on him so no need to panic. The board , podcasts, all requesting o line, another receiver, and weapons for ALLEN, so it’s going according to form so far…... It’s just early FA time, sit back and chill till preseason. Still haven’t even hit trade deadline, so this is the time to relax as no pressure and nothing fans can do anyhow. ENJOY MARCH MADNESS, at least as good as any SB without the bills playing! 😁 -
It’s gotten ridiculous hasn’t it? I didn’t see the thing censored but i grew up very close to the area , tri state area of Ohio/ w.va/ pa. Area along the Ohio area., so i know the very common, innocuous probable short term for a really common food in that area. It’s not hate speech, every person w common sense knows that. Man, there are some great cooks/ cooking in that area. And absolutely so many great people who take care of their neighbors.. MISS the area now being in Florida . ESP the pristine snow around Christmas as i lived in the country between farms. Grandparents were directly from Czechoslovakia, and they had a tradition of dumplings w sauerkraut on New Year’s Day,,,,was great stuff to grow up on, no fast food or Uber eats in those days. Yeah, I’m sure everybody jumps to slurs immediately when talking about food. 😄. My grandfather who was a coal miner, became mayor of his small town , never missed work, must be rolling over in his grave seeing how soft the country has become. There were so many ethnic communities , and the nicknames and jokes were common and funny and everybody still got along. Miss those days! May Mackenzie enjoy the area if he lands there! Thx for the memories!
