  1. My point is it’s some of game playing that gets him nothing. He gets no advantage as the guys he remains vague about get declared out early anyhow so no team is wasting time preparing for a certain player to play. It is just contrary to the nfl requiring accurate injury disclosure. I don’t care. I just find it odd to do press conferences that are meaningless , do you still watch anything he puts out , I don’t. It’s just football , yet he acts like his being vague , which takes a certain effort ,will somehow add to his chance of success, while it is just the type of overthinking that has gone into many of his failed , late game coaching collapses. It’s a pattern of obsessive behavior and thinking , which if too pervasive can interfere with your goals , like winning a Super Bowl , and become counterproductive. All really successful people have some obsessive traits, or they would never persist to beat obstacles and achieve. Yet , it can go too far. So you might think it’s nonsense , but you are missing bigger patterns. I could go on , but sorry , I answered your questions in the original post but it was too many words for you. Perhaps consider some reading on ocd behavior. Coaching is not done in a bubble , they are humans and behaviors carry over in all aspects of life. Best wishes , go Bills! ( hey it is Just my opinion, I only ask for being open to different thoughts , not to be attacked. Your offer of its “ nonsense” offers no explanations or original thought. It’s name calling basically. Why not offer how being vague is so advantageous or productive. And until he proves he can win a sb , which is his reason to be a HC , he should remain open for fair , positive criticism )
  2. Thanks for really narrowing that down! lol, JK! You can work for Mcd anytime! Best wishes , but this is about the best example of how vague mcd handles things. I don’t see the value in not being at least willing to tell the actual injury. I mean telling the actual injury changes nothing but speculation. It doesn’t affect treatment , time to return to play , prognosis , etc. I don’t care , tbh, I just find it as odd behavior and frankly it takes more effort to keep things locked up and really borders on paranoid type behavior. People will just keep asking ,keeping it an issue. If that is what you think you need to win a game it is almost obsessive energy devoted down a rabbit hole , rather than just saying , hey he has a non displaced fracture and as soon as it’s healing well and we feel good about him not injuring it further , he will play. Then it’s over , no more questions every week , he is being announced as out early both weeks so far so the other team knows he’s out and it’s no competitive advantage , and he returns when he does. At this point , who knows , he could still end up missing 3-4 weeks ; it’s just at some point he plays or he doesn’t. It’s either wrist or forearm , teams will still target hitting him the same way. Let the big cover up continue. Maybe focus on fixing your slow start issues would be more productive. Love Mcd as a coach , but have always found his evasive injury discussion as someone missing the forest for the trees.
  3. True , but with this staff you never , I mean never really know the exact actual extent of the original injury. Nothing is ever discussed or handled in a transparent manner. I don’t understand the competitive impact Mcd thinks this gains. With 0 SB appearances , hard to say his way of handling medical injury information makes any logical sense. Unless you have talked with Milano or family or seen the actual injury data / diagnostic tests , how can you ever make any prognostic statements. Never seen anything like this by a staff. I would agree with you totally , it’s just with this paranoid type behavior , who can really say anything? I mean , for example, it’s already one game later and what is Coleman’s actual injury or prognosis? No one knows outside of the Bills med staff. So that makes it harder for the Chiefs this week ?. They still prepare for him and if he doesn’t play , it’s likely his snaps / targets go elsewhere or to a less talented person. The bills only have so many talented receiving options, and by now they are well known on film. How does being vague help ; if he plays the other team knows which wrist was injured , it will likely be wrapped if he can play at all, and they will still target hitting that area. Any thoughts on how this is productive? 😊✌️
  4. I understand your point and agree , yet I can’t understand bringing up even less talented-guys who are never even going to get a target. The uses of certain players by this staff at times is just hard to grasp. Why bring mvs in at the original price , then cut him when you are making a playoff run for players with less talent and NO POST SEASON SUCCESS. At least he had a history of some legit playoff success. They have a history of under utilizing players at times , keeping them off the field for unknown reasons. They did it with the safety again this year as well. Cutting two FA ‘s signed who were expected to make impacts seems illogical to me. It’s a mistake by either signing them or cutting them , you can’t have it both ways and your process is flawed. You are signing guys who then never have enough talent to even touch the field? Just the fact mvs was capable to have a two td game is proof he can compete , yet he had zero productivity here despite being here all preseason / offseason. The stiffs they brought up did nothing but run motion. That’s not going to get you thru injury depleted times. The offense was really limited yesterday. I mean they won by 10 , after giving up a 10 point lead thanks to the d scoring , went down 13-10 at one point , done while getting 4 turnovers and a pick six! Hey A win is a win, but is the process a sustainable one that would work against good teams? Colts are something like the 31 st ranked team against the pass , yet Josh threw two ints against their substandard talent. Seems like there are times that players are held off the field for mystery or not well communicated reasons. Players who failed here are doing well after leaving like Poona ford / Tim settle. Add Diggs , mvs, edwards all to the list. It just seems like chaotic roster management rather than a logical strategy. If it happens once , understandable. Happening several times seems like an issue, and until they prove this process can win a SB, it’s fair to question Beanes moves.
  5. I think you and a couple other posters are spot on! . There are just certain things that can’t be ignored. The chiefs are arguably better than us at every key area ; 1 ) Reid has proven at this point to be a better HC than Sean in the playoffs and also is probably a better oc NOW than Brady. 2) spags is an innovative dc , and they have a superstar de / closer / playmaker in Chris jones compared to any player on the bills d. Our closer , Von , is way past his prime w injuries taking their toll. Jones has a history of dominating the bills come playoff time. Our one great chance was the 13 sec game to overcome that d and well, we will never forget how that ended. 3 ). I hate this but mahomes so far has proven to be the best qb related to Super Bowl results . I like Allen better as a Buffalo guy, character guy , and so far he has played really well in the playoffs , but he hasn’t had the playmaker support or the coaching staff has made just enough errors to neutralize his talent in the playoffs. He has left the field leading , only to end up going home with defensive collapses. Other than that run ending in 13 sec , he has not lead the Bills to dominant leads( two scores or more) , and the o tends to go thru periods of hurting and stopping themselves with penalties etc or he is prone to ill timed turnovers ( like the Houston game) keeping games within reach , and that sets them up for the d to fail late. Say what you will , mahomes so far just has been a better closer of games in the playoffs. 4 ) They have a player in kelce who has been there and elevates his game come playoff time , creating mismatches with linebackers. We just have not yet had anything comparable outside of Josh. 5) they have had dominant special teams play. Last year bass was a liability down the stretch. He is looking good so far , but let’s see in the playoffs. I don’t think any of the above is hyperbole; home field advantage is huge for making a SB run, and so far the Chiefs have proven that. So , while some argue the chiefs have been lucky or gotten sloppy wins , you can’t argue with being undefeated , and they have achieved home field advantage almost every year. I think we could beat them and get to the SB THIS YEAR , but we have a more realistic chance if healthy for once , and can get that afc championship at home. Chiefs have the experience , history of success that breeds confidence , and they are so far just better come playoff time. The Bills have enough talent , and Mcd has kept improving , so we should have a realistic chance to make a run. . We have a really tough schedule , but based on past results , you would have to prove to me they could actually remain healthy enough to get past that rough schedule to make a playoff run. Imo, Mcd is a perfect fit for the bills and he is the best chance regarding the HC POSITION to get a SB one time. I don’t see him being dominant like Reid has been, but he has the leadership qualities to get them there one time. He does have to overcome his losing playoff record, esp on the road and his teams seem to collapse under pressure as noted by his zero wins in overtime, yet the players respect him and the chemistry is real. They definitely could do it this year as they are winning even ugly type games. They just have a narrower margin of error than the chiefs. Both teams are what their records show they are. If they get and stay healthy , Allen can take over any game and if he gets hot, this could be the year. Many “ ifs “ as you stated, but it’s possible as they gain confidence with each win. They have to be healthy tho , as they lack time together and need their best quality guys actually playing for a realistic shot. Go Bills!
  6. 😳. Thank you for sharing. Maybe too much info ?! lol ,,,,,please don’t share how you react should the Bills ever win a superbowl ! lol. Practice those boundaries! Not every feeling / reaction needs to be documented! lol. 😂 Maybe your avatar name should have been a little insight into your personal boundaries !! Again,,,maybe too much info?
  7. John fina , who played tackle for Buffalo for ten years , his rookie season ending with bills in SB 27 , said that Dawkins grabbed the neck line part of the jersey and yanked the guy down. He said this was definitely a penalty and would be called 100% if the time , esp with the ref right there looking at it. He reviewed the all 22 , and was very firm it was a penalty. Not sure baldy is seeing that jersey neck grab. It looks like he reaches in and grabs and pulls the guy down suddenly. I have no idea , but fina is pretty good with offensive line play , he does coach college level players including his son Bruno. It’s on his last podcast with joe miller on YouTube. Doesn’t matter now thank goodness, but interesting to see various viewpoints. The ref was in perfect position to see it either way.
  8. Thx for the mention. Yep , it is medical , from Ohio originally , moved to Jax fl in 85 and been board certified in fam practice , urgent care for 40 plus years. Not doing much clinical work now as I’m 67 and had failed neck surgery after 5 discs collasped in my neck , damaging my spinal cord. But still fully licensed and walking and just trying to still help people with med issues , as medicine in the US HAS lost its way. Drs now are unfortunately controlled by big corps employing them , who are run by pharma and politics of the companies boards. , The “ drs. “ who went to school ,,but never did do the actual clinical work and just use the credentials to rise to controlling power positions , not continuing the actual real purposeful work , which was to be caring for people at times of critical health needs, aren’t fulfilling the real purpose of the title. Lol. It’s just my opinion ; if you took one of the limited spaces to get in school ( we are facing a huge shortage as boomers like me are retiring / passing and great smart young people now are going to other fields to not incur huge debt and frankly , probably have more control over their quality of life) you really should be dedicated to doing the actual purpose you went there to be trained to do. Still doing thing to help young docs, , help friends navigate the system, and act as a consultant in malpractice cases. Lots of great docs on here as bills fans , so I only give opinions very generally on med issues here , trying to avoid controversial things because it gets interpreted I guess as arrogance , which if you knew me is just not close to any trait I posses or reason I opine on player med related issues. My main purposes/ has only and always been the same, I just only wish to help in a positive way , and being totally free from controls as I’m self employed means I have no agendas. Really appreciate your statement and thought it was perfect. You kindly reminded me of one of my all time fav profs in undergrad who taught immunology and a fantastic surgery class In undergrad where I actually learned things that often got skipped in med school because of numbers of students / competition for spots to get into surgical fields. He once said to my small , 8 student experimental surg class , “ real drs are phd’s , not the others, as phds’s are the real scientists and creators “. It always stuck with me and I get his argument. Loved the guy , you know , we all have 2-3 great teachers in our lives who share knowledge and really serve as role models and motivators. He is gone now , and I never got the chance to go back and see if I could ever help him modify his view. He was right , but I really think those that actually treat / care for people deserve that title too because it’s a calling and everyone of us need them at some point in life as we will all face illness and life’s end, and people need trust they will get compassionate care at those vulnerable times. Your statement really hit home and it made me remember his great teaching and how he helped motivate me to be sure to always keep striving to deserve that title. Thankyou so much. I really have no idea what the issue is with Samuel, but if it’s physical , then do something to definitively fix it or it’s a disservice to him to keep putting him out there. Just seems like something isn’t working out as no change or progress is happening. So it’s either him , or the Bills inability to create use for him and it seems like a wasted opportunity so far. Like you said , with injuries , we could really use what he did well before as the season advances. Hope it gets figured out as when I watched him yesterday , I didn’t see anything a ps squad guy couldn’t do, and being from Ohio, I really hoped would really add a vertical threat and that’s just not happening up to now. Happy holidays, go Bills !
  9. A healthy , pro bowl Milano returning would be a great addition. Just hard to be optimistic it will happen soon. I don’t expect Beane to do much with them sitting at 7-2. Hey , he made a huge move getting coop , adding more doesn’t seem like his usual move Elam came thru today. Coleman’s status will be huge, but on d edwards can’t even make the active squad so I think Beane is done for this year.
  10. With mcds OT record , thank goodness he went for it. Great question that thankfully we can dismiss.
  11. I don’t think it’s negative just to wonder what exactly is going on with him. It’s pretty unusual to have him out there if he has some undisclosed injury ; that just doesn’t make sense to me. I mean it’s past the half way point and he has really not been any type of threat , or even productive in any sense this year. It’s is very strange after watching him be very productive before coming here. Obviously they expected more with his contract. He and Josh just have no chemistry ; Josh didn’t even look at him today imo. He has fallen off a cliff , heck even Diggs at his worst produced more. Just really an odd situation , and I don’t know what “ injury” would persist , go unreported , and he still be getting snaps. Either it’s Brady misusing him , or he has hit some wall mentally or physically. I really thought he would be very good , but so far he’s a mystery.
  12. I wonder. In my experience following the Bills , time is not relative to the diagnosis , unless it was a compound fx( breaking thru skin or with open laceration , as that is a surgical urgency / emergency which would have him getting surgery tonight ). Only reason I say that is initial films at stadium could be negative, yet a callous or healing line could show up 24 - 72 hours later in a subtle , non displaced fracture. Add the McD secrecy factor and you might not know until Wednesday with the Bills. ( or really ever exactly with McD) It would still be splinted / casted most likely, so with the Bills , knowing nothing right away is typical. If it is in the wrist , not forearm ( when I rewatched it , admittedly just got one review for three seconds , it looked higher than the wrist , like lower forearm took biggest impact , but I admit with just that tv view I can’t be sure. ), it could initially look neg but if pain persists , might show up later. It is diff with pro football tho as they aren’t dealing with reg insurance , may own a dedicated mri even or just have deal with a diagnostic radiology company , and more likely to jump quickly to more advanced things like ct scan or mri to evaluate ligaments in wrist etc. , which doesn’t happen with reg public. So , I don’t think not hearing right away means it’s less likely a fracture. I hope for him it’s a bad contusion, or non displaced fracture ( everything in alignment and in place) , so he might not miss extended time. If it’s a slightly displaced fracture or in one of the many formal wrist bones , he might be out a couple of months as a receiver , as casting will cause atrophy of forearm muscles , which complicates recovery for a position so dependent on two hands. Hoping for the best as he is having a great season. Will miss him next week against the colts watching them vs Vikings if he does miss time. Really enjoying watching he and Josh develop chemistry as season progressed.
  13. This would really be a setback if fractured. Esp for receiver. Not like they could play well with padded cast / brace. He has a pretty unique role now. Po with a nasty hit. Like the guy but that hit sucked and he was very late doing it. Hope he enjoys going home early for his last season. If Coleman goes to ir , what move does Beane make? Brady has really used him well lately. If it a fracture , he might be out more than 6 weeks as casting will atrophy forearm muscles',just a longer process possibly for a receiver. If not angulated or displaced , he might not miss a full two months,,,,will all depend on xrays, and even those could still miss a fracture early. Hope it’s more forearm than in wrist as there are bones with less circulation and many articulating surfaces in the formal wrist. Fingers crossed it’s not fractured. Been enjoyable watching him progress as a rookie.
  14. It’s sad anytime to lose a friend , fellow Bills fan , or any family member of the posters on here. Never met him but been on here a long time and enjoyed his posts. Great summary SDS, thankyou for Reminding us about his life and family. God bless him , keep him , and bless his family. It’s so painful losing a parent anytime in life. It sure sounds like he led a really joyful life and was a loving parent , which is the best life anyone can ever hope for. He’ll be missed.
