  1. To this one point - 6 plays and 13 points (failed 2 pt conv). Dude, I'll take that type of play every day!!! Yes, it was a meaningless preseason game. If I heard this correctly - The defense was not given plays and were to communicate with each other to figure it out for themselves. If not for the 3 huge PI calls against Darby and Gilmore(?) would the Steelers have marched down the field? Hard to say but it didn't look like it. This good sir is part of the issue. Go deep and you just might get anywhere from a 15 to 30 yard call in your favor. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=PASSING&conference=null&season=2015&seasonType=PRE&d-447263-s=PASSING_YARDS&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-n=1 Passing stats #40 - TT avg yards per pass play 7.6, 0 passing TD's, 0 INT, longest pass 29 yds, passes - 20+ yds 2, 40+ yds 0 Rate 98.3 #9 - EJ avg yards per pass play 11.9, 4 passing TD's, 0 INT, longest pass 67 yds, passes - 20+ yds 5, 40+ yds 2 Rate 146.9 Let me reiterate - The Bills have speed at WR and TE w/ Clay. Use the speed to stretch the field and go deep.
  2. because they believe in Jerry S. Whose story aligns with theirs. I'll repost the link http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/08/30/no-smoke-from-bills-on-qb-choice/ As I’ve(JS) said before, Taylor’s rise was largely due to his modest competition, Cassel and EJ Manuel. That doesn’t mean he can’t succeed, that he wouldn’t seize the moment and turn into a solid NFL starter. Ryan pushed to get Taylor. Maybe others are trying to persuade him. I’m told that offensive coordinator Greg Roman believed that Cassel was best-suited to run his offense.
  3. Yes. Think about it. If EJ gets the nod - A lot of people will be jubilant, some so so and a quite a few irate. If TT gets the nod - A lot of people will be jubilant, some so so and a very few irate. If MC gets the nod - A lot of people will be irate, some so so and a quite a few saying WTF? Another BS season "with an Orton + player who just can't get it done" season. for my bud Metz. There you have it Metz_Lives source is Jerry Sullivan http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/08/30/no-smoke-from-bills-on-qb-choice/ By early Sunday evening, there was no word on the choice, no smoke coming out of the chimneys at One Bills Drive. That doesn’t mean Ryan hadn’t made the call, but it’s hard to imagine a decision of that magnitude not leaking out. As I’ve said before, Taylor’s rise was largely due to his modest competition, Cassel and EJ Manuel. Or is Jerry's source Metz_Lives? http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2015/08/30/maiorana-can-make-reasonable-case-qbs/71379072/ Who do I believe deserved to be the winner of this months-long competition based on performance? - Tyrod Taylor because he was certainly the most dynamic player this summer, he's someone who brings a dual run-pass threat to Greg Roman's offense, and he's an unproven, unknown talent which therefore makes him wildly interesting. Who do I hope Ryan picked? - EJ Manuel. When you stop swearing at your computer or mobile device, let me explain. Call me crazy, and I know many of you will, but I like EJ as a person, and just feel like he deserves a break. Yes, that colors me a little biased, maybe even a little soft, but here's the thing — I thought EJ looked really good the last half of training camp, and in all three preseason games. Further, shouldn't Bills fans be pulling for him to get the job, and for him to go ahead and prove he was the right choice by playing great so that he can finally justify being a first-round draft pick in 2013?
  4. remind me.... EJ's second injury.... Wasn't it a Cleveland Brown who took out his knees on a scramble (many plays) after the Bills put their starting QB out of the game?
  5. I was watching the #1 offense march down the field twice fr 2 TD albeit 6 total plays, then MC goes in and cough sputter backfire. My giddyness was gone like that!!! Then TT came back and some of the good vibes were restored.
  6. sorry I was being sarcastic. my point was early or late the pass and catch was good enough for the TD. see above WRT sarcasm
  7. And that classifies as a Anti EJ fanboy if you think MC is better than EJ
  8. you been reading to much stuff here
  9. Had similar only the toast was fine. For me it was the Bridal dance where the group had gone outside for a "smoke". luckily they were just outside and easy to collect.
  10. so you are saying that the speed aka zip ala frozen rope makes up for a slow pass?
  11. Lynard is having the same problem the others are having with the new yardage and narrower posts.
  12. you are still trashing EJ.... tsk tsk man you have to lighten up. your blood pressure must be sky high @ mile high. IMO If injuries continue ... $5 Million would help in securing other positions if there is a need. People want TT because he's a new and exciting prospect, Matt is a new but unexciting prospect and EJ is the old prospect Doogie screwed with. and if Cassel looked good/great then EJ must have been astronomical!!!
  13. what is going to be brutal is the continued QB arguments and "insider" info reports
  14. I recall one replay guy, was it Tasker?, on what I think it was EJ's last TD... He (EJ) was a little late on the throw. fast slow or tight on time it was a TD!!!
  15. Funny thing within this past week or 2 in some of the national media - The Bills don't have a QB and will finish 4th in the AFCE. On ESPN radio this morning I heard the guys saying the Bills have 3 QB's and what a great thing it is. --------------------------------- EJ Manuel started Saturday's game, playing the first two drives and then re-entering the game in the third quarter. He finished 7-for-8 passing for 170 yards and a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating. Overall for the preseason, Manuel went 20-of-30 passing for 358 yards. Tyrod Taylor completed 12 of 13 passes for 122 yards, leading the Bills on 80- and 78-yard touchdown drives, including a 20-yard touchdown run of his own. Taylor completed 24 of 31 passes in the preseason for 236 yards. Matt Cassel played two drives Saturday, completing 6 of 7 passes for 38 yards. He finished the preseason 13-of-15 passing for 83 yards. Ryan said he assumes that Manuel, Taylor and Cassel will all make the Bills' cut to 53 players next week "unless something else happens." http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/13541230/rex-ryan-decide-starting-quarterback-sunday-not-make-decision-public Again how funny is it that some people here clamor for QB's who have a lot of passing yards and TD yet want TT who has zero passing TD's. Team point for point the EJ led offenses have more TD's scored. Could it be because EJ had more playing time? or that there is something there not being recognized. Yes it is preseason ergo if it applies to 1 QB it applies to them all.
  16. one of the 2 guys on NFLN said EJ's TD pass to Clay was easy because the defender fell down. during the pregame he said he was a fan of TT numerous times
  17. How Does Indy Game Plan for and mobile QB? Its not like TT is the first mobile QB in the league. as commented above
  18. seriously Doc? I would agree if the signee was Aaron Rodgers, or Andrew Luck, or Russel Wison, or Phil Rivers, or even Kap. But a 4th season backup who never started an NFL game? Please this isn't college
  19. but our guy has an inside source and ...... Oh I give up. WGR is horrible period
  20. Steelers "walking dead" in loss to Buffalo (Beaver County Times) LOL
  21. I asked that question yesterday. I haven't seen the replies yet that answers that Tasker broke his teleprompter
  22. I agree. When teams game plan for a QB. But other than that, these were the starters on both teams in the 1st QTR and mostly in the 3rd. or a Patriot. That ^ But Metz's inside source (maybe second hand) that TT is the guy to start week 1. When you champion the idea that EJ is worse that Cassel. Yes, they can. When you say that EJ is inaccurate and then he produces a perfect passer rating Yes, they can.
