Honestly, I did not follow the discussion as it just doesn't interest me. But, as with most political discussions and with everyone's claim on the truth - apparently things got out of hand. "The mods" are not a monolithic entity. We are not "the borg" and we do not share one view. Every one of us is different and has different styles. Unfortunately, this can manifest itself as a certain level of unevenness when addressing issues on the forums - real and/or perceived. Complaints about this unevenness are probably justified, but what I do ask everyone to keep in mind is that I think most everyone here is a good person and any actions taken by the mods is generally taken in the spirit of trying to do the "right thing". Obviously, that's a subjective measure and not everyone will agree with the result on every intervention. I do ask disagreeable parties to put our discussions here into perspective and seek to deescalate situations, rather than make a situation more volatile. Public policy will not change based on our discussions, so opinions expressed should be taken with a grain of salt. I assure you - political opinions expressed here will have no measurable impact on your life. However, the friendships formed can/will impact you in a positive way. While we will discuss the issue offline and see how it can be handled better in the future, my general sense of situations like this are that they are tricky to handle. It's a political discussion, but taken place on the field and, for better or worse, dominating the conversation (while we all await the magical preseason game #4). I can understand why it was being discussed on the main board. I also understand that such a topic that mixes football and social issues can quickly leave the football behind. At that point, personal judgment comes into play and not everyone will agree with that judgment. I think one can make the case for leaving the topic on the main board or for eventually moving it to PPP (whether it be page 20 or page 72), but I don't think there is a "right" answer here. If anyone has a specific complaint, please send me a note. Otherwise, please let that water move along under the bridge. Thanks.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the salmon pants/shorts are almost as vilified as cargo shorts. Google "white boys in salmon shorts". It's hilarious.

Would have never expected to see Ric Flair, former fake wrestler, resident of North Carolina, to be rocking the muscle shirt with cargos. Shocking.

You would not be allowed in. It's a required uniform.

They are pretty bad. Given the cast of characters who have come out in favor of them, I'm feeling pretty good about not owning any...

We have had my high school friend (who has his own catering business) make BBQ chicken and salt potatoes for us in the past and it was a big hit. Who would be up for that?

Must see TV. Gabe Kaplan could have played for the Bills I tell ya.

Disagree completely. That she wants to leave the world a better place is just by chance. Make no mistake, she wants to be queen because she wants what she thinks is rightfully hers and she wants the power as much or more as anyone else who desired to be on that throne.

If you don't think Dany wants to rule the seven kingdoms than we are watching completely different shows.

We bred championship line Dobermans for a decade growing up... had a black male and red female for 13 years.

Hard to believe they would go through all that just to kill him 9 episodes later.

Then as an American I will offer up Tom Sawyer. If you read the lyrics through the prism of a musician who experienced immediate success, only to have an ugly band breakup, an embargo on making new music for years, fighting lawyers daily and staying in a friend's house on Baker Street - the song takes new life. "Another year and then you'll be happy... just one more year and then you'll be happy..." Then of course, the rebirth at the end. This was his first song post legal battles.

It's hard to consider Jimmy Buffet - a cultural icon who has toured for decades with a huge cult following - to be a one-hit wonder.
-
Not many people realize that it is autobiographical. The song is about Gerry trying to extract himself from his previous band stealers wheel and it took three years of legal fighting to be able to write music again. He stayed with a friend on Baker Street and this was his attempt to capture that experience (along with his struggles with alcohol). The answer is yes if you go by common definitions. However in my examples Baker Street would be excluded because he had other songs that charted, but Layla would be included. I think Layla would be a choice that misses the spirit of the question. Baker Street is so !@#$ing epic that nothing he did in any capacity compares to that hit.

So many... Smart ass answer is stairway to heaven. Kind of hard to imagine it isn't from the 70s. That era was loaded with em and stood the test of time. Technically, Layla is a one hit wonder but that feels like cheating. Take a walk on the wild side is another... Depending on how you define "hit"... Baker Street is my choice although Gerry Rafferty did have some songs that reached the charts. Baker Street is just an amazing song with a great story. If you are an 80s guy, Tainted Love is the choice. But, being of a certain age "My Sharona" was the first song that popped into my head.

Yeah, the whole face thing hasn't really been clear to me. There are faces on those walls that can be borrowed, but if they don't come from dead people then where do they come from? I'm not really sure what the rules are here - which is important since the MFG seems to like their rules. Also, it was pointed out in a wiki that Arya is left-handed in the series and those scenes she did everything right-handed.
-
Wouldn't she need to be dead for that?

Please refresh my memory. Did she hide in the corner during the actual episode or was that a flash forward preview to an upcoming episode?
