  1. Title is not good. Good catch.
  2. This topic is perfectly acceptable as it has a relevance beyond just a game day comment.

  5. Thanks Einstein. The OP changed the title to be more descriptive prior to your snark.
  6. What did you like about the feed?
  7. It’s nice that our community was able to help. I wish Pancho well through this difficult time. In the future, ALL efforts to fundraise through our community must be approved be me. Nicely done by all who contributed.
  8. Home opener is not sold out? Yikes.
  9. I think people are ok with that. Jerry’s voice was never revered by the fan base. There’s nothing wrong with freshening the scene.
  10. Looking forward to it as always!
  11. As a general announcement, any fundraising activities should be cleared through me prior to posting. I wish pancho well.

  14. So, what was Tim not interested in?

  16. So, this topic has run its course... It is hard to read the same inaccurate accounts over and over. To summarize: - The Buffalo News did not layoff Tim Graham in a cost savings measure. Tim left by his choice, with no payout. - BN did not layoff John Vogl (he asked to leave) nor Jerry Sullivan (he was reassigned and then he asked to leave). - Given Tim's reaction to the news room departures, his unfortunate tweet regarding Vic (and later deletion), and his sudden departure - it is clear there was some behind the scenes acrimony. - BN is hiring new people for these positions. Anywhere from 3-6 is what I understand. They may do well. They may fall flat on their faces. Time will tell.
  17. No. It is clear that Tim left the news by choice.
  18. Again, let's rewind the video... Vogl, Graham and Sullivan for sure weren't laid off. Two left voluntarily and somewhere it was reported Jerry lost his column but was asked to perform in a different capacity. Not sure about Bucky. Regardless, they will be hiring to replace those spots. I have heard anywhere from 3-6 new people will be added. If true, I hope they go slow and add quality over quantity.
  19. What would make you think otherwise?
  20. They lost a couple good writers. They lost a couple that were less than popular with the readership. The BN will now have to interview and hire talented people to replace them. We are all replaceable. Good luck to all involved. I hope the new blood breathes some fresh air into the paper.
  21. There are a lot of bad takes in this thread. It was clear by timing of the announcement, and then further confirmed by Tim, this was not a part of the original cost cutting measures. If he was fired or nudged out it was because of something or multiple things that happened after the restructuring. When I heard the news it was clear to me that he had been very upset that certain writers who were let go, the reasoning behind them being let go, and with the recent dustup with Vic and the deleting of that tweet, it’s clear there was some acrimony behind the scenes. He never struck me as a fall in line to kind of guy
