this guy was pervert. it was gross and it was outrageous that he was allowed to hit on girls for YEARS before he found one to fool around with. All the students knew what he was doing and it was allowed to continue.

oh, I spent a lot of time in art class. if it was possible to make a living that's what I would have done. "Starving artist" just didn't sound appealing.... As a side note, our 50 year old art teacher married an 18 year old student who used to stay late every day.... nice.

although I don't think I am ambitious enough right now, it would be conceivable to write a hack that filtered out any thread that contained the "OT" icon.... If anyone wants a project in PHP... there you go. It would involve modifying the query to view the main board, storing a value in the member's table, and adding a setting in the CP (with associated html).

I'm not sure if this icon (as ugly as it is) would be a better solution than [OT] in the subject line. Whaddya think?

Let me just say upfront that what should be in a blog and what should be posted here will be the single most difficult thing to define. Actually, I don't think it could be defined. this entire area is gray and I doubt there is little black or white. I think there was a time when a post like this could have had the potential to lead to an epic "I'm a horrible human being" thread. My guess is that blogs should be geared towards particular people as opposed to specific posts. I mean, if BlueFire does not have a history of these type of threads, then a blog doesn't make sense. However, if someone has the need to regularly contribute items like this - then a blog makes sense. Yes?

to say you need to grow up is an understatement. You talk in terms of what this guy should be forced to do and I talk in terms of what he should do - w/o a court order. You see a man being hurt - I see a child who has no say in the matter. He has a child that needs care. It doesn't matter how it happened. Sometimes life is about what doing the right thing, not the convenient thing. If anything, he should be suing for custody from this psycho. and, if I am allowed to moralize a bit more, stuff like this doesn't happen when you are married and committed to your spouse. There is more to morality than someone just wanting to be a wet blanket on your fun.

I'm a bit surprised at the comments, but maybe I'm just the oddball here. Obviously, this is one wacked out story that once again proves that truth is stranger than fiction. With that said - there is an innocent child here that needs to be raised. That article didn't really go into details, but no matter how fricked up the conception was - he needs to deal with it properly and provide support. You don't punish the child because the mother is a psycho.

Last year I got 60 codes. It was very thoughtful for posters to take their time to send me those. It was a nice distraction shopping for some music as I just started doing the whole iTunes/MP3 thing. I have received 1 so far and if that is all I get - I'll be equally thankful for that one. I presume with the exploding popularity of the ipod that many people probably have closer friends than me to give the codes to this year as opposed to last year. Still, if there are some out there that are going unused - I might as well ask...
