thanks slappy... the point was did all those players START and perform at a HIGH level their rookie season? Was their play so steller that it made the difference between winning and losing 4+ games THAT year? Maybe you can find examples, but I think on average the answer is "no".

I didn't do anything other than archive posts and optimize the dB this morning.... With that said - everything went very well today. Had a few "server busy" messages, but those occured because of the arbitrary threshold I put in to help the server recover when the load goes up. However, I am VERY puzzled how things went so well when the load was pushing 15... That should have brought everything to a stand still yet the pages were being served with a minimal wait. I hope someone can enlighten me there. There were ~100 more peak readers this year than last year which is pretty good considering our lack of 1st rounders today. I don't believe other boards fared as well today. It's nice being on the good side of that situation for once. That could explain the higher visitor number.

While I am just as curious about these picks as some of you are - I don't understand the analysis that says, "we didn't pick a left tackle in the 2nd round therefore we will suck this year." Do 2nd round OLineman really tip the scales between 6-10 and 10-6? Perhaps there is concern a year or two out from now, but I don't see how NOT drafting a new LT or C makes that much of a difference THIS year.

I rarely criticize any move until I see the full plan and the players play. With that said, how many *small* players ever make it in the NFL? They are a dime a dozen in college, yet the ones that make it are the exceptions that prove the rule. Corey Moore was an OUTSTANDING college football player, but was an NFL bust. The landscape is littered with them. There is ample reason to be pessimistic about this guy's prospective career.

I agree with you and if my hands didn't hurt so bad I wouldn't care to buy a new one. I just hate pinching a few dollars and wind up buying something that needs to be replaced because it got bent in one season.

I was trying to look for info on the: DeMarini 2005 Ultimate Weapon Singlewall... It's $99. Which still seems outrageous, but I don't want to dent a cheap one either. My current 10 year old Louisville Slugger chatters my teeth with every swing. My hands hurt so bad after BP I need ibuprofen.
