  1. But is it the case that it appears to be so obvious from 1000 miles away, but with so much happening so quickly that those close to the situation just didn't see it?
  2. Again, the death of logic is displayed in your post. So, "leadership" was the barrier between the Convention Center and FEMA? Do you think that someone at FEMA took the call about the CC and forgot to take the message? Clearly, if FEMA didn't know - then someone didn't TELL FEMA. Maybe the situation is so chaotic, communication channels are so poor that what appears to be a "no brainer" is actually not?
  3. who knew hockey pucks were so volatile?
  4. which is what I was trying to say, albeit in a nastier tone, to some of our fellow posters. It is one thing to question why "X" wasn't done, in hopes to learn something. It's quite another to go ballistic and start blaming others when you don't even have a set of minimal facts, let alone a complete set.
  5. he probably meant the United Way.
  6. Is there any wonder why so many people have the desire to choke the crap out of you? Instead of declaring yourself as a know it all - why don't you go find the answer yourself? Are you so arrogant that you think no one in the entire power structure of the state of LA, the Feds, or the Red Cross hasn't thought of that? Are you the smartest person ion the world now and that everyone else is so friggin' dumb that they couldn't come up with "just drop them pallets of water"??? Why don't you start seeking some knowledge instead of spouting off about what you don't know?
  7. don't you have concern about where the money goes though? I have a huge distrust of people soliciating money after major disasters.
  8. Booo... not a good choice on a mixed gender board
  9. I dunno dude... Ask your wife!!!
  10. "FEMA, meanwhile, had moved generators, ice, water, and food into the region for deployment after the storm. FEMA also brought in urban search and rescue teams from Tennessee, Missouri, and Texas, and set them up in Shreveport, La. Similar teams from Indiana and Ohio were staged in Meridian, Miss. FEMA also deployed 18 disaster medical assistance teams to staging areas in Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee." I think that about says it all... which is why I urge getting the facts before forming an opinion.
  11. encourage it where? the main forum or the subforum? I would think their would be lots of activity in the subforum - is that bad?
  12. Of course, given the green light, I assume it would become immensely popular depending on the structure (who can upload pictures, who can view the forum, etc...). A Pop Culture forum is very interesting, although many females in the Ladies Lounge would only be known for their assets and not their place in pop culture.
  13. again, so we are ALL on the same page - this is the same stuff that gets posted routinely on TSW only it has it's own forum. So it is already being seen and discussed. It's just a matter of opening a new subforum for it.
  14. just to be clear - we ain't talking porn. I'm talking about having a place to put the threads that occur everyday on TSW and have since the day we opened. I'm not talking about changing any standards - just moving those threads off the main board.
  15. Congratulations. You are tall. What a feat.
  16. I was wondering if a "Ladies Lounge" forum (tucked out of the way at the bottom of the Special Topics category would be of interest to you'inz. Oogling babes is a favorite past time here at TSW and perhaps it is time have a place dedicated to the finer gender... http://www.Finheaven.com has one on their boards and it seems to be well behaved. Standard rules of decorum would still apply. Please send your feedback via this thread or via PM if you choose a more private venue. Thanks.
  17. yet you are? Funny how it is inconceivable to you that there may be reasons unknown to you and unknown to us why that is impracticle. Yet, you seem to have all the answers. A 1400 on your SAT's does not make you an expert at anything you wish. Your arrogance is beyond comprehension.
  18. So many deep thoughts today... are you on the crapper?
  19. on the Dolphins?
  20. how's that seatless bicycle working for ya?
  21. the hard and fast rule is that ANY email that ends with "send this to everyone you know" is a hoax. I've never seen that rule fail.
  22. speaking of the pats - we need a spy update!
  23. was there something wrong with the Gas Prices Ouch! thread about 4 lines down?
  24. he is the perfect backup. Not talented enough to challenge the starter, but talented enough to win you games when needed. Too bad he hasn't been w/ us for 10 years, like Frank Reich.
  25. Well, If I ever go swimming in an ocean of stinging jellyfish - it's good to have a plan.
