So I have been compiling a list, which seems to me too long, but here is what I have so far: Thank you Agree/Disagree Like/Dislike Sad Sick Rolling eyes/Facepalm/Sure Jan (admittedly, SJ is just me) Funny Surprise Angry that’s up to 13. Can these be whittled down? Right amount? Substitutions?

That only works in certain settings. Unfortunately, in a sports community that just leads to group ganging up on people. I think the idea of upvoting and downvoting, etc.. is a great idea, but such things tend to devolve.

I'm a little hesitant to keep "Sure, Jan". I'm a big fan of the Brady Bunch (well, as a kid I was), but it does mess with the aesthetic. Animated gifs are normally avoided as are actual pics.

That's where the confusion lies. Facebook uses thumbs up for "like" and you can't really go against that paradigm.

I'm not going to dog them for that. They have been around probably as much as us. Someone has to pay bills and make it worth our while. Those ads are no different than a commercial in the middle of your TV show or movie. It's an honest exchange. "I won't charge you, but I do have an advertiser that would like to show you something." It's fair as long as publishers don't abuse the exchange.
