  1. I'm going to fuggin' puke if another person pulls that 13-3 season out of their ass. They won how many miracle games because of Mike Brown? How many of thiose teams had winning records?
  2. I doubt that is the case. If a thorough analysis was done, I bet you will see that for the most part - losers are losers and every now and then someone starts slow and turns it on. BB is the exception. It reminds me of the Winfield argument when everyone pointed to Darryl Green as justification for drafting a 5'6" CB.
  3. well, your entire post is contradicted by your 1st assertion. GW is the ULTIMATE system's coach. He has his way of implementing a defense and he will pound the crap out of that square peg until it is crammed into that round hole. That is one of the reason's he is despised around here.
  4. apparently you are easily confused then.
  5. How do you figure? Throw Dick Jauron in that bunch and he fits tighter than an airbrushed bikini.
  6. but that argument suggests that past success is actually a poor indicator of future success. I never understood Mariucci's appeal, so that isn't a good anectdote with me.
  7. all kidding aside, in the world of active coaches, it is hard to find someone with a worse track record than Jauron.
  8. ONE report said "could"... that is it. I don't see how anyone draws any conclusion from that.
  9. who would we have chosen? Geez, it seems DJ would be on the short list of candidates - no?
  10. WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT GREG OLSON HAS BEEN HIRED!
  11. if this is accurate then I am officially freaked out.
  12. no where does it say "probably". They said "could". As in Marv COULD have hired a coach with some semblence of success, but he didn't...
  13. actually, they had two pro-bowl OL that year. Of course, it is not hard to look good when you play a JV schedule.
  14. wow. talk about your fantasies. So, it is actually a GOOD thing that Dick Jauron was a miserable, hated failure everywhere he went because that makes him more like Bill Belichek? The only thing DJ has on his resume that got him hired was the word "Chicago" and the fact that Hall of Fame Coach Marvelous Marv Levy, your General Manager and man guiding the ship, used to watch him coach on the sidelines during the years he was begging to get back into the NFL (pleads that fell on deaf ears). That is truly outstanding.... It's great to see that people can look at a pile of crap and see an image of the messiah in the twist and turns simply because that pile of crap has an ancient friend who wants to be comfortable and busy in his last years on earth.
  15. errrr... he described a recent GB/Det game and it reminded him of his bad sideline decisions in Chicago. Did you really miss that?
  16. Linky "He’s like a Texas Hold’em player who won’t bet big until he’s sure he has the best hand. The problem is, by that point, most of the players have left the pot, and your chance to score big winnings has gone out the window. Oh, sure, you’ll still win a little bit, but not nearly as much as if you’d decided up front that you were going to be aggressive. And it’s why he never was, and never will be, a big winner as a coach. "
  17. they beat one team with a winning record. they had the softest schedule EVER.
  18. Statements like mine? I have never put much stock in the HoF, the Oscars, or Miss America... I do not applaud them for their vision in selecting Levy and then hammer them for their lack of vision in not selecting Wilson. Peter King BRAGS about being able to keep Art Monk out. What are your thoughts about Mr. King? I've seen enough of Marv and I've seen enough evidence from the GM's of the NFL to draw my own conclusion. I may be in the minority around here and that is fine with me, but I bet in a few years we will be talking about how Marv got booted to the curb yet again in Buffalo. And like clockwork - the rest of the NFL will yawn. again.
  19. It's called a bird in the hand... Jim Fassel was THE coach of the day when he was booted from NY. Supposedly, he would have the choice of any job he wanted. The guy can't get a free cup of coffee from his mother these days...
  20. DJ had 5 years in Chicago.
  21. Do you know who the "Canton voters" are? They are pretty much the same people we crap on every single day for not pulling their own heads out of their asses. Since when does the beat writer for Seattle know more about Marv Levy than the people from Buffalo?
  22. Two words: Jim Fassel.
  23. are you sure you want THAT guy handing you "tissue"... Good luck burying your nose in THAT.
  24. well, that isn't fair... EVERYBODY beat those Bear teams... That Jauron resume just SCREAMS hire me!
  25. Looking over the roster and looking at who is responsible for stocking it (a man w/o GM experience who has been out of the league for 8 years) - that is likely scenario....
