  1. why is his ass right below his chest?
  2. Marv is over 80 - I'm sure he is leaking something...
  3. impossible. He scored 20 points of which 18 came from 3 point range. Unless you are VABills, there isn't room for 3 more points there...
  4. Do you know what the best thing about Mike Williams is?
  5. I'm no skating expert, but basically what happened is that she won the short program with a flawless performance. In the long program, Sasha's performance (minus the two falls) is light year's better than the rest (except for the Bronze medalist). Her flexibility is sooooo great that whatever she does just looks so much better than the rest.
  6. that's pretty cool. I wonder how the other team played him? Still, hitting 6 in a row when it is your 1st action EVER is impressive for any player - autistic or not.
  7. I thought Toby was done with those movies?
  8. Did you know she leg presses 400 lbs? Too bad, she skates a clean program and she crushes that lifeless Asian chick. Even though she didn't blame her leg injury, I think it was clearly that when she came off the ice and said she couldn't jump high enough.
  9. Well, she lives in Harford Co. MD., but does most of her training at The Pond in Delaware (UofD campus) I believe.
  10. was the lobster any good?
  11. well done!
  12. I guess my opinion is that the top FA's would be getting comparable offers from several teams. If our offer was above and beyond what anyone else could touch - then sure they will come. I think it will take millions of up front money more than the rest.... However, how much do we want to pay before it becomes a liability?
  13. I've made it no secret from day 1 that I don't think Levy/Jauron were smart hires. With Buffalo being a less than ideal place to attract young rich boys, you need something to get them to sign on the dotted line. That is either money or tradition. So, given the current state of the team (our lack of success) we clearly need to outspend other bidders. Our management turnover is very high with 3 GM's and 4 coaches in 7 years. I just don't see a payer choosing Buffalo over Jax right now if the money were the same. We are painfully short on the intangibles that would tip the scales our way.
  14. it's figure skating for those not talented enough to do the jumps....
  15. I think it is the opposite - if the money is in line with other offers the top-tier FA's will stay away (just as you said with Cleveland). I think we would need to add $1M in signing bonus money to tip any deal our way. Other than that - I don't see any hooks that put Buffalo ahead of any other bidding franchise right now.
  16. nice straw man... the point is that many teams will want the services of the top FA OL and we will be bidding for their services behind the 8-ball. I assume people will freak when we don't land him or Hutch, but I think it is unrealistic that we will get either of them. This org has to work it's way out of a deep hole. That doesn't mean don't try - it only means that we may not succeed in landing the best of the best right off the bat.
  17. "highest" can be relative in this case. I don't think he goes to the place that offers him $1 more. It wiill take considerably more $$$ to make Buffalo more attractive than other teams for the top FA's at this point.
  18. Why would Bentley be interested in Buffalo? Many teams will offer him comparable money. Our front office is a holy mess, we've had 4 coaches in 7 years, and our owner/GM have one foot in the hole... Couple the that with the attractiveness of Buffalo as a destination (relative to other NFL cities) and I don't see it happening....
  19. The place is the real deal... seriously, it's like visiting two areas at the same time. Have a bowl of cream of crab soup (which the regulars at the table next to you will chime in and tell you how good it is) and split an orders of wings. Then have a Beef on Weck for dinner... They probably have a selection of Canadian beers too. Ask to talk to Tom and he'll sit down and talk your ear off if you want. He's the kind of guy you want to give your money to for a good meal.
  20. Not to far away form Annapolis is: http://www.oloughlinspub.com/ The owner is a Buffalo boy and a GREAT guy. His menu is a mix of local MD and WNY dishes. If he is there he'll sit down and talk with you. He's a Bills fan, so he'll talk football too. I have not been to this new location (they relocated), but the type of people he drew before were the repeat locals where everyone knows everyone. Think people shouting "Norm!" when you walk in...
  21. Basically what he said was as soon as he learned how to handle himself and the media - he injured his wrist. The injury was bad enough that he couldn't throw the ball like he did in college and therefore his career had to end.
  22. after, but that's besides the point... The wife and I sat downed and tuned into the Olympics' coverage and that happened to include Fairies on Ice. Mixed in those moments were the men's slalom...
  23. FWIW, he claims not to have really spent any of it. and I don't believe you. Despite what some people say, there aren't many people who want to sit around and do nothing for the the next 70 years and I'm pretty sure he has a lot of internal anguish over his missed opportunities no matter what his bank account says.
  24. He was just interviewed on the Dan Patrick show. Wow... It was a nice interview. He seems to have the maturity of a 50 year old man now as opposed to the 10 year old when he played. He was humble, he had perspective... When asked what he thought about being the punch line of so many jokes he came back with a lyric: "I think the world of myself. It's just that the world doesn't think much of me..."
  25. I tried to reach Dick Enberg to ask him to cancel that portion of the coverage last night, but he was too busy to take my call...
