I had BLS on there, but it was too long to fit onto one CD. I had to trim 40 minutes off my 1st round of selections. I tried to get a good mix and not hog the CD with just one or two songs. and yes, MD is the greatest acoustic piece that I have ever heard. FWIW. It is my all-time favorite piece. This thread has got me on a Triumph kick now... I have been looking for bootlegs, collectibles, websites, etc...

... well, let me back up. Deborah started with strep last weekend and Andrew finally showed signs of it on Thursday. He threw up a tiny bit just one time that night, but he was basically doing ok until this morning. He already had a few doses of medicine and he seemed fine to go to his Sat. ice skating class. He ate a good breakfast and was active. (yes, I know I am a dumbass for attempting this). Well, we get to the rink (Andrew, Paige, and I) and just as we approach the entrance of the building - I hear the gagging sound that every parent dreads. I turn around and Andrew is starting to hurl. I quickly set Paige down and grab Andrew in hopes I can move him to the side. Before I can move him he pukes in my cupped hands. I race to the garbage can and whip the puke into the can at which point I here another volumonous roar and splat right in front of the entrance. Now, Andrew is screaming bloody murder that he wants his mommy (like I was abducting him) and Paige is just staring at us like "WTF"? Meanwhile, people are trying to enter the building for their lessons, and they don't know whether to tip toe like a ballerina or long jump it like Carl Lewis. I eventually get Andrew to sit off to the side while I run in with Paige and explain to the nice lady that there was a pile of half-digested waffle sticks in front of the entrance and we could use a little help. Of course, none of that even approached the Linda Blair episode he had a few hours ago when a raincoat (or a giant sponge) would have been better attire... Anyone else have any similar kid stories?

Oh boy... I'm probably not the most objective person here since basically I am an optical engineer because I thought I could run the laser light show for Triumph some day... The quintessential Triumph album that landed them on the radio was Allied Forces, led by Magic Power and Fight the Good Fight. Before that, Just A Game had less commercial success but was probably their best work (which unfortunately came too early in their careers to really make the best of it). His solo stuff is a natural progression from an uber talented singer, songwriter, guitarist, rock star to a grown adult. His guitar work is impeccable, but his stuff today is not "Eruption", but more like Stanley Jordan. I would be happy to send you some samples of his songs throughout his career that you would give you a taste of what he is all about. I can burn you a disc if you send me your address. I see no reason why you couldn't pick up a player w/o a sound card, but make sure you have USB or you won't be able to connect.
-
Well, I'm not sure he qualifies as "unknown" (actually he doesn't), but his solo stuff has gone unrecognized for the most part since Triumph broke up in '88. http://www.rikemmett.com/ If you are looking for artistic albums made, produced, and distributed by the artist - he shouldn't be missed. You could sample if you had a sound card, so you may have to file that one away for the future.

Frank spoke at my HS graduation... one of the true good guys that came through the NFL unscathed.

That is precisely the way I would handle the draft Mark. Ther eis far too much turnover on any football team to assume "position X" is filled, so let's ignore superior 1st round talent and draft for a need prematurely. Now, I'm not saying the Ravens are the model NFL franchise - their coach is an assclown. But, they stay true to their board and draft guys like Lewis when Holmes is on the roster (keep in mind Holmes wasn't a superstar yet), Heap when Sharpe is there, etc... They end up with a ton of talent that gets mismanaged, but the talent is there. Draft superior players when you can and reduce your odds of getting burnt. With any luck, that star player will hang around for 8 years or more.

what, did you sign in and all hell broke loose last year? I believe we have the flood thing under control.

I'm sure there are IRC commands that you can use to ignore certain people.

I know for many that a "java" chat room is not an upgrade, but for those who do use the java room, it has been upgraded! Also, the name of the room has changed to: #gobuffalo as this is the same room (albeit a different theme) that the Sabres site is using. For those following the Sabres, hopefully there will be activity in the room during the games. http://www.twobillsdrive.com/chat/ or http://www.sabresreport.com/chat/

they stopped?

why is that? Just because you or I can't offer a translation doesn't mean Rubes or some sports medicine type can't offer a plain language explanation.

Anyone ever experience Little League like this?

not keeping score at a very young age doesn't bother me... they should be learning skills anyway. There will (should) be plenty of time for true game competition when they get older. You can "play to win" w/o actually keeping score (i.e. try your hardest to score and prevent them from scoring). However, fundamentally changing the rules is utter bull sh--. A HR is just that - a HR. It is not a double. It is part of the skill set they should be learning. You can get everyone involved and still play "baseball" by it's fundamental rules. -
it will be their homecoming week...

So we all seemed willing to give TD 3 years

the problem lies with the perception by many fans, myself included, that Levy WAS the quick fix. I have no confidence that any "foundation" has been laid at OBD. Nevermind OL's and DL's - the merry-go-round that is the coaching staff/GM only means the players chosen today will be shown the door tomorrow. It is hard to be patient when you get the feeling there is some clock with a quick alarm ready to buzz again in the near future... -
Well, at least you have something that stands 8" tall...
