  1. it could be Gateway circling the drain.
  2. I get ticked when I can't find the origin of someone's hot avatar.
  3. you know, if YOU posted this thread, I dare say that you would lap BiB in page views by a factor of 10.
  4. I think $400 is reasonable in your neck of the woods. We paid that a few years ago. In the end, it's what you don't know about the situation that can hurt you. It seems as though it should be simple, but unfortunately it really isn't. Good luck and remember - your legacy could be a kick-ass server for all Bills fans to enjoy for eternity!
  5. Sounds like Dan Brandenburg to me.
  6. then again - that napkin represents your net worth. Ironic - isn't?
  7. I went through the same thing 4 years ago. I too thought "nothing very complex". It seemed VERY simple to me, since everything is simple when you are ignorant on the subject. I mean splitting an atom is just breaking it in two - correct? Well, we went a lawyer who does this for a living in our neighborhood and I was floored about how complex my simple situation was. He asked crap I would have never thought of. I have no expereince with that piece of software, but my experience with my lawyer told me that there is no way any piece of software is going to duplicate the experience and advice of actual legal counsel.
  8. It depends on the "cry" - people who don't hear the baby will tell you "babies cry", but if it is above and beyond a normal cry, then give your pediatrition a call.
  9. yeah, like they had cars back then...
  10. just watch last year's games. Every other word out of your mouth will start with "shhhhh..."
  11. that is the "baby burrito" technique...
  12. Sorry... both our kids slept through the night (for the most part) from day 1. Sounds like bad genetics... Just go through the routine. Check to see if they are wet, soiled, hungry, or have gas... 9/10 it is one of those.
  13. I know your hearts are in the right place, but please stop for a moment and think about the logic, or should I say "lack of logic", that these petitions represent. Do you really think that if the NFL was conspiring to move the Bills (which may be the truth) that ANY petition means jack squat to them? Do you think someone is going to bust inside a smoky room and yell "Stop the presses! People in Buffalo CARE about the Bills! Look - they have signed actual PETITIONS!!!!" At which point, the NFL conspirators fall off their chairs in utter amazement - shocked at this unexpected chain of events. The words - "They, they, they, they care?" are stammered as they look at each other confusedly, not knowing what to make of this earth-shattering development. "We didn't plan for this <heads buried in hands>! Danny, get John Zogby on the phone - he assured us NO ONE cared about the Bills! Christ, now they are arming themselves with PETITIONS! Crap, we have to do something about this. Soon, someone may call a radio talk show or something and this whole plan will just unravel at the seams!" Please...
  14. Perhaps he should wait until training camp rolls around and it is 75 in Rochester and 105 in Miami...
  15. if you wake up with a bad taste in your mouth - spit, don't swallow...
  16. that could be it. They just said his name and I guessed what it was...
  17. I was looking for the hyperbole, but it seemed serious. Especially when he mention that the lady now works for Marino.
  18. Listening to Tony Kornheiser on the way home today, I heard Dan LeBatard speak about all things Miami. He relayed a story that Saban has issued an order that NO ONE say hi to him in the office. A memo was issued to all employees not to greet or talk to the coach. Well, some "sweet woman" apparently forgot - said "hello" to him and she was fired. She now works for Dan Marino's Foundation.... Dan also stated that JJ lost his interest in coaching when he looked down into his mother's casket and wondered WTF he was doing with his life.
  19. A few observations: 1. IMHO, your screen name is a bit bland. It blends in with the 100's of screen names that contain "bills", so it is hard to distinguish you from the countless others that comoe through. 2. Your lack of avatar means that your screen name is even more important. A unique avatar will help to visually identify yourself to others as you define your online personality. 3. Building relationships. This was easier in the past when the number of posters was smaller and the OT posts were mixed in with the main posts. Two people can make the same post - one a newbie and the other an old-timer and people will naturally respond more to "a friend". Participate more in the OT posts, identify people with common interests, and try to get to know people beyond their stance on JPL and you will find your threads being more active. 4. I can't think of a fourth thing... Welcome!
  20. How about when you buy a single item that is about the size of your hand and they throw it in a bag? Is it too hard to carry one small item out of a store?
  21. does this quote strike a bell? Sorry, but many, many ABX tests are done on the listeners own equipment listening to THEIR choice of music. It has been proven again and again and again. Anyone who claims to hear anything different is most likely experiencing the placebo effect. I once had another audiophile tell me 10 years ago how the best sound he ever got out of his system was with "hook-up" wire and it sounded better than his ultra-expensive speaker cable. I'm thinking he had some extra earwax on one of those days.
  22. I'm thinking the guys a few cubicles over were complaining....
  23. here is a page that has some ABX data: http://www.provide.net/~djcarlst/abx_wire.htm
  24. Let's just say whenever someone hears the vast difference between interconnects, it is time to roll the eyes and throw the audio BS flag. Time and again, double blind studies have shown that to be BS.
  25. oh man, is this another "sausage arms" thread?
