  1. Florida’s seven day average has been increasing since March 17 and is still twice as high as it was last October.
  2. Maybe you could find someone to discuss whether a hotdog is a sandwich or not?
  3. There is. Toning disgusting about it. As stated, if you read the posts, we would like the discussion to be tightly focused on the intersection of the NFL and the issue at hand. If it gets out of control it will be closed. If people talk about the situation rationally then it can continue.
  4. I’d like to speak to the person in charge of marketing if they are running ads on a Buffalo Bills fan forum for a $200,000 Mercedes. https://www.jamesedition.com/stories/cars/the-15-most-expensive-mercedes-benz-cars/
  5. There are no need for snarky remarks, either towards him or I guess the op was snarky towards me. This can be discussed as a community in good faith.
  6. I have blocked WinZipdriverupdater.com as an advertiser.
  7. https://www.finheaven.com I think the owner does a really nice job over there with their graphics and layout. Though I think they probably cater to a different audience then I hope to attract, but that’s all right. But people are free to go over to a really busy football forum and see what that user experience is like and ask yourself if things are so bad over here.
  8. And just to put a finer point on this, I can choose not to show ads to administrators (myself and one other). What I have chosen is to show ads to myself, everyday for years and years, but not members. Hopefully, I have a good idea what the user experience is with those ads, even if all of the members don’t see them here (but do on the front page if they utilize that resource).
  9. Are logged-in members seeing ads on the forum? Despite being logged in, I show ads to myself so I know what is being shown and where.
  10. So, Google inserted this type of ad on their own. It is my choice if I want to decline it or not. This was a recent development. To date, I have not shown any ads to members on the forum. It’s not to say I won’t in the future, but I haven’t done so in 23 years. Guests that read, but don’t contribute see ads. That seems fair to me. It looks like there might be a click through ad to go from the front page to the forum. It’s new, but is this a day wrecker? I certainly don’t mean to enrage people because they have to press an X once in transition. it cost thousands of dollars to run this site with enough hardware to keep the place up during the draft and opening day and other times of intense interest. I would like to think as a community we can be reasonable about this. For those of you with ad blockers, are you willing to pay a subscription for all your content? I’m just a guy with a house and a mortgage and a wife and a kid in college and another one in high school. I certainly think I have been reasonable over the years. There are some websites that are unreadable because of their aggressive tactics. I don’t think we’re one of them. If you find that interstitial ad to be unfair and oppressive, then let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
  11. Cal Ripken Jr had a reputation that was kept out of the news.
  12. They would settle for a substantial sum or else risk getting a fraction of the settlement by going after non-liable people. NFL lawyers vs theirs.
  13. There’s going to be a settlement. It doesn’t matter who is “legally” responsible, the NFL, the Chiefs and the Reid family are going to avoid the court of public opinion. Nobody wins in this public relations fiasco. Someone is going to get paid whether it’s public or not. Just cut the check.
  14. I think anyone who thinks the NFL is going to allow this to be a daily story over money is 🥜.
  15. Josh looks like he would be a good tennis player. Sam Darnold looks like he goes around throwing rabbits into pots of boiling water.
  16. and of course if you try to sell more seats than the plane can handle then eventually you would have so much weight on the plane that the plane cannot function. You have to stay at a reasonable maximum capacity or below to keep it in the air.
  17. Simply, think of child processes as being seats on an airplane. The airplane can only accommodate so many who want on the plane (based on plane size) until it puts you on the waiting list. I hadn’t optimized that number since I never had to and then Wordpress decided last night it was going to buy up all the seats and no one could get on. Everyone went on the waiting list and no one got a seat. I don’t know why WP did what it did, but we vastly increased the number of seats and in the process, WP stopped inappropriately hogging the seats.
  18. I appreciate you verifying the status last night. Much appreciated.
  19. Wordpress and child processes is the best guess. We just didn’t have enough children in the fields as WordPress decided to be a real New England Patriot last night.
  20. The downtime was unexpected and we are not quite sure why it happened. Other sites on the server were fine and nothing seemed to be under duress. The front page and the board just kept timing out the connections. 🤔

I know this is easy but I found it a little shocking. 91CAED7C-A11B-4596-A6AB-0EFDB19E5C2F.webp
  22. I would say highlighting an actress solely for her looks in a review is past its expiration date.
  23. I look into this every five years or so. Just doing my five year check in. I’m curious what people’s experiences are. Bonus points for recent installations.
