Did you go shopping on "Black Friday"?
SDS replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
what a coincidence - I would rather stab you in the face too! -
which is unfortunate for Jeb because he was the only real good one of the 3.

the Dems will be the proverbial dog that caught the car. The chase was great, but now they have no idea what they are going to do with it.
-
was it as much "inept" as it was actions not following promises? I'm reminded more of Animal Farm than anything else. They got comfortable with power and decided it was more important than what got them there... This was a party full of shooting political stars and now I can't find a single one that I want to run for the WH.

The Right was Right about the Left.

Personally, I question all this "I vote for both parties" stuff. I don't how that is possible. Unless a certain candidate is truly unworthy of office - I don't see how one could possibly reconcile switching support between competing agendas and everything that goes with it (control of the legislative agenda, chairmanships, judges, etc...). In general, Dems vote w/ their party once elected and likewise for Republicans. Regardless of what candidate "X" says to get my vote - if you disagree with the party platform - a vote for that candidate is a vote for that platform. -
they are tools because the implication was that now that the Dems acquired some power it was because people were "finally paying attention" - as if they weren't the past 12 years.

BTW, Barry - I was in your neck of the woods last Thursday. I went to visit a company in Garden City (90 minutes south of the airport).... The barbecue beef was excellent at Jack Stacks but the chicken was as dry as the bone the Republicans received last night.

Although the reported bias is plain for anyone to see, I think the most egregious bias is in what is NOT reported more than what is reported.

did any of the news anchors announce that the voters "had a temper tantrum" ala Peter Jennings in 1994?
-
"... the voters finally engaged again." fuggin' tools.

But we have a governor that people LIKE. Our state has went from deep red (deficit) to black. He is smart, well-spoken and has done a good job. He has 60% approval rating in a state that is 2/3's democrat. So, we kick him out... It is hard enough to kick the BAD incumbents out - now we chuck the good ones that have cross party support????? unreal.

to put in a dork from Baltimore City who hasn't done jack for that cesspool... Well done Maryland - the state where political observers say that the state legislature is the most corrupt in the country. We put put Chicago to shame....
-
ummmm... how many people from one party do you have to get together and get them to say "this happened to me" in order to be widespread? It doesn't seem too hard to me.
-
I know people are pretty dismissive of that sort of thing, but doesn't crap like that go hand in hand with blackmail - not that every single person in DC isn't bought and paid for anyway... just saying.
-
What if that deal was called Whitegoo?
-
of course, how hard is it to fake this stuff? Would you like me to photoshop a voter suppression flyer in 10 minutes? I could fax it to the Baltimore Sun 2 minutes after that. Then I could call a friends voice mail and do the same there.... Separating what is real and what is not is nearly impossible.

RCP aside, Jay Cost is the man... No one did it better in 2004.

Exit Polls Show Libs Winning Landslide!
SDS replied to catchescannonballs's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
My experience was uneventful. They did not ask for my ID - only my bday and street address. I signed a piece of paper and voted electronically. MD will be interesting. Just how horrible of a candidate do you have to be in order to be in a close race this year with a 2:1 dem to rep registration advantage? -
