I grew up during the tail end of his career. He was larger than life. I can remember doing the "fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee" routine when I was 5 or younger. I haven't seen enough boxers to declare how good he was compared to all fighters in history, so I defer to those who know better. I was a Sugar Ray Leonard guy myself. The guy won a lot of belts in a lot of classes... Always carried himself with class.

he is terrible as an announcer. For someone who was as good as he was, he offers precious little insight to the game. More times than not he speaks in tired cliches usually reserved for people who have never played the game.

The Travis Henry of yesterday would be great, the Travis Henry of his Bills years - no. Henry was too often seperated from the ball in his years here, but yesterday he held on like he was clutching a 15 year old girl's panties. I don't think he even juggled a ball yesterday, let alone lose control. If that is how he his playing these days then God Bless you - you got yourself a decent back.

I can't imagine them running further down field though... After he started running, they would have to be retarded to stay 40 yards away from him.

There were two receivers standing in the end zone, even AFTER Losman ran 15 yards backwards. How they got that far downfield, if they weren't meant to be there, is beyond me.

I agree... It is remarkable that in one year, JP went from making all his plays with his feet, to none of his plays with his feet. Hopefully next year we will see him make plays with his arm and his feet.

The problem is that there was no free agency back then. So, even if you see similarities, the nature of the business has changed so much that the similarities will be fleeting.

The last two plays qualify - hands down. and quite frankly, the fans SHOULD worry when your very seasoned head coach has the playoffs on the line and has no effing idea whether he is going to kick a FG, throw a hail mary, or take a knee.

Given that - why did RL run out to the field on 4th down if this was such a given? Why did JP have to hurry to get the last play off? Why the hell was it a Hail Mary when we needed 5 yards for a fresh set of downs? We can argue about what SHOULD have been called, but I can't see how anyone can disagree that what was done wasn't a cluster!@#$ of epic proportions.

With all the pissing and moaning going on - I'm sitting here baffled at why more people aren't questioning the actual play (2 receivers in the end zone? ) as opposed to whether we kicked it or not. I'm more bent out of shape due to the former...

While it certainly gives some historical perspective, I think the crux of it is that most people find it disrespectful (because people don't know the historical background that you linked to). I don't think it is ever written with malicious intent, but never-the-less it has a bit of a secular feel to it and thus tends to aggravate thhose who actually celebrate the holiday beyond buying a bunch of crap and shoveling it out.
