  1. So YOU'RE the Opera user...
  2. ok, who here wants to go into the chat room to help me w/ these menu issues? I have no way to test them on windows at the moment. If you can help - send me a PM and I'll be notified ASAP via a google alert.
  3. why did you think that? Are we talking the redesign or the banner?
  4. alright, is this a better banner? http://www.twobillsdrive.com/newbanner2.jpg
  5. I am going with my son... I think a few guys from my hockey team are going too... (former Buffalo guys).
  6. Just to be clear, my argument is about ground beef, not steak...
  7. Well, that is a good question. You haven't actually told us anything other than raw meat tastes good to you. Perhaps you could explain how the bacteria on the meat disappears after it gets ground into the middle of the burger? Where does the E Coli go when the "Chef", who doesn't believe in silly notions like bacteria, doesn't wash his hands after taking a dump and prepares your food? I suppose you could just declare it safe because, errr, you like how it tastes. Most people are ignorant on the subject. Just like most hockey players are ignorant about MRSA (say like Jay McKee...). Most hockey players never get it. Then a few wake up in the middle of the night and need IV antibotics because they didn't wash their stink drenched equipment. Some risk losing limbs after contracting it. Ask any hockey player if they know someone who caught it. They would probably say no one. But ask Jay McKee if it serious or not... I assume you are not ignorant on the subject, but just choose to take your chances. That is certainly your choice, but please don't tell anyone here that eating undercooked hamburger is safe, because that's just not true.
  8. it isn't supposed to be that way. Remember, that is my live development site, so you are just seeing mistakes/intentional mess ups that I am making. I'm just having an issue with that section of the style sheet and I'm troubleshooting.
  9. yeah, we'll have that.
  10. They can get sued. Serving undercooked ground beef, despite what the customer wants, is a health risk. People get very ill and can die from E Coli among other bugs. http://www.cfah.org/hbns/newsrelease/undercooked7-14-00.cfm http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8172492 http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/3...so_hard_to.html http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00039761.htm plus 10,000 other articles... Seriously, did any of you guys stay awake in biology?
  11. It is not against the law, but I wouldn't serve undercooked ground meat in a restaurant either. Besides, it doesn't even taste good (to me I guess). It's like someone pre-chewed a steak and spit it in your mouth. The texture is just awful.
  12. because it's !@#$ing disgusting that is why. You take all the bacteria that resides on the OUTSIDE of the meat - and you grind it all the way through so it is one big slab of disease, and then you want to eat that? If you want to eat red meat - eat a steak.
  13. 1 Large 1 baby doll (I assume this would fit Deborah?) How can I get a size on this?
  14. yes, but often that one is too slow. I have been using this one lately: http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php but it only gives you so much vertical space. As soon as I cna track down a copy of XP, I'll put that on my mac and run it locally. It least IE6. I wish EVERYONE would drop that browser. What !@#$ing pain in the ass it is.
  15. yes. When I actually get the articles imported into a new dB - there should be an "on this day" calendar to search through archival stuff.
  16. constructive criticism is good and is exactly what I'm looking for. Designing can become very myopic because you tend to design to your tastes/needs/work flow. Having others chime in is always helpful.
  17. I'm getting a lot of good feedback with the snap shot, although some comments I think are off the mark simply because you are looking at a picture and not the real site. I might as well show you the development site and let you see the full functional entity, so more precise feedback can be given. http://www.twobillsdrive.com/ee/ Most of the navigation links are inactive as the inner pages are not yet developed, and even the navigation headings/subheadings, etc... might change. So, just keep in mind that there is a lot of work to be done.
  18. Thanks. Yes it is nice, but I would need to have a logo over it and then there is the search and web links, so it may lose it's effect.
  19. well, the design is 980 px wide - so it will fill up your entire screen. ctrl + increases the font size in firefox and it works well so far. But, like I said - if there is a demand for it - I can make a template for those who want larger fonts.
  20. I would say the new design is far, far less busy when you compare them side by side (and have the ability to scroll through the whole thing).
  21. ASAP. It could go now, it's just people will try to click on sub pages that aren't there. Front page functionality is completely duplicated, so we could go live if necessary. I do want to expand it more though before that. Maybe one week. I need a better photo for the middle anyway. I'm hoping to get one soon.
  22. well done... yes, there will be an RSS feed. I should have placed the icon by the news. Thanks for reminding me.
  23. I just increased the font size quite a bit in FF and the site stayed reasonable put together. I don't think you'll have an issue. However, if this is an issue for many people I can easily put in a new template that makes adjustments for that. What screen res do you use and what is the minimum comfortable font size?
  24. Thanks. Hopefully, I can make something work as my situation unfolds. This weekend, I have a ginormous workstation to put together, so I can get my crap off the dining room table.
