It would be nice if after one of these preseason games, in the past umpteen years, we could have meaningless, unbridled enthusiasm, instead of game in, game out - year in, year out of having to excuse yet another listless performance.
wow... I know this is just a small sample, but the overwhelming majority of drop-down/fly-out menus are "hover" (it is easier to implement), yet there seems to be a preference for "on-click"....
an example for those who need it:
http://www.stadiumwall.com/menu.html
this would be compared to the current menu on TBD where the menus appear when your mouse moves over the menu bar.
So, for some technical reasons - I need to change out our current menus on TBD. While doing lots of thinking about menus - I wondered which style people preferred:
1. Hover over a section in the menu bar and the drop down magically appears
2. Click on a section in the menu to make the submenu appear
I guess this comes down to the convenience of not having to click vs. the inadvertent mouse moving over and displaying the menu when you don't want it to.
it's back now.
I need to do some layout design to increase the readability. I just had to get something together at lunch, so we could get it out the door.
Obviously, suggestions on the format/layout are always welcome.
Ok, my checkbox thingy works in FF 3.0 for Mac and IE 7, but not FF3 for windows. Anyone else having trouble with the new open external links in new window feature?
do you have an imac? If so, your screen res is either 1440x900, 1680x1050, or 1920x1200. The picture that Brad has up there now is none of those sizes and not the same aspect ratio. That means either something gets chopped off or the picture is squished to fit it all in.
ok, they are all made in 8 different resolutions. Brad is going to post the links to his site, so look for that link here or on the front page.
Thanks Brad...
Nice shot!
Ok, I put a little checkbox to toggle whether external links open in new windows or not. Your selection is stored in a cookie. How about that for a solution?
I'm not sure the link is in the best place - I'm open to placement suggestions.
I clearly need to do more w/ the navigation.
"I would prefer to see the headlines near the top"
Where are they now? If you inlcude the quote - you need to scroll. If you don't - they will be stacked on top.
would those forum links be best presented as a clickable drop down menu - or would you rather click on the link and just go to a new page that just had those links listed vertically?
1. I guess it begs the question on what information people are looking for. Is it just the article links or do people want access to everything?
2. I was wondering if it wasn't better to have a list of links show up on a new page instead of a drop down? That way they can be listed linearly.
3. Yes, I can make that an "on click" event.
