  1. It goes WAAAAAAAY beyond that. I mean way beyond that. These are news stations and while you can question the quality of their coverage or their point of view of the coverage - you aren't really supposed to have to decide what is "breaking news" and what is a partisan kick in the crotch. It is as unprofessional an act that I have ever heard a news station commit.
  2. While Gov. Palin was giving her speech today, MSNBC ran a line under her picture under the "BREAKING NEWS" banner: "How many houses will Palin add to the McCain/Palin ticket?" Say what you want about Fox, if this isn't as bush league as it gets - I don't know what is. Cheap shots under a "BREAKING NEWS" headline? That wouldn't be acceptable on a party run station let alone a news station associated with NBC and the late Mr. Russert.
  3. This is intellectually dishonest because you can't declare Bush a moron (and I'm sure you have), and yet also declare anyone that comes after him in the white house will continue whatever policies he instituted. I don't know anyone in my circle who thinks McCain = Bush.
  4. I'm saying those crowds are forming in the summer and have not yet formed in the fall. When the real negative campaigning starts and Obama is rightfully confronted with his past chosen associates there may be some measurable decrease in elation. When his derogatory words about Pennsylvanians are run over and over and over again you might not see those Reagen democrats in PA so excited about him.
  5. That theory will be tested soon enough. However, his ability to attract believers in the summer of 2008 doesn't necessarily correlate to November. See Bush I for that matter. I think Obama's past associations (how any democrat dismisses those associations is mind-boggling and a tad frightening), Biden and Obama's own comments about Obama's ability to hold the office are going to play much larger in the fall.
  6. counting on voters that never vote is usually a dubious strategy at best.
  7. What indication do you think that is going to be the case?
  8. I think the respectful term is "GILF"...
  9. Really? The ultimate? I haven't been paying too much attention to the race, but perhaps you can show us where McCain is touting his inevitable death in office...
  10. Have you ever paid attention to politics before? Either you don't or you are very young. Do you remember Bill Clinton's campaign promise - that he heavily promoted - that his cabinet would "look like America"? People vote the way they do for a variety of reasons. Most of those reasons are stupid.
  11. 1. That is why she is chosen in August and not in November. It gives her the opportunity to make her/McCain's case and for the media/public to cross-examine that case. 2. The notion that any elected official understands and abides by the constitution is a quaint one. 3. At best (for either side) is the experience factor between her and Obama is a draw. The problem is that HE is the one running for president and there is only a very slim chance that she would be pressed into duty in the 1st year of the administration. Put it this way, who has "more experience" - Obama today or Palin 3 years into her VP term? Her experience meter revs into high gear starting day 1 and it would quickly pass anything Obama has ever done to date.
  12. Gov. Palin's VP candidacy will have little direct impact as history shows that VP candidates do little to sway voters. No one votes for the better VP choice. They just don't. What it does do is it indirectly affects the campaign by changing the dialog, the tone, and the media coverage. McCain is simply betting that those changes will ultimately favor him.
  13. Considering the past 8 years, why on earth would anyone expect anything more? I would think the time for boastful proclamations of the team's inevitable resurgence would have been lost in the rear view mirror long ago.
  14. I remember GG talking about the game here on the wall. I can't believe that was 10 years ago.
  15. 9+16=25 10+15=25 Same thing...
  16. that is not correct...
  17. ok, lots of views - very few votes, but so far only one person uses a traditional ticket broker? I hope we can get some more votes just to get a better sample.
  18. crap, forgot about ebay...
  19. I'm curious to know where most people here do their shopping for aftermarket tickets (sporting events, concerts, etc...) If you have a favorite place, please post it in a message. Thanks...
  20. That is quite a leap of logic there. Love isn't a paper clip either, but that doesn't mean it is the opposite.
  21. I think most people consider indifference as the opposite of love... (or hate for that matter)
  22. If by Rugby you mean UFC, then you are correct...
  23. As a reminder, you do not show up on the list until you have completed at least one week's worth of picks. Also, do we need any rule changes from last season?
