  1. More like gibberish. Are you trying to say something to me or not? If so, just do it. Johnson was another guy with a ton of talent who failed miserably. His mind was too slow and his body was too brittle for the NFL. I just happen to not hold his injuries against him.
  2. what are you talking about?
  3. If you mean his body wasn't built for the NFL, through no fault of his own, then no he wasn't "tough". However, he would stand back there and take an ass-beating game after game and get up when his body would allow it - so yes he was quite tough... or stupid. Either way, he never shied away from the physical nature of the game.
  4. got a new calculator for Christmas?
  5. That is err... good news... right?
  6. Did you read the 50 word article?
  7. on the serious side - how does a tax prevent them from farting? Is the goal to produce LESS milk? Is Coke/Pepsi sponsoring this?
  8. No whopper for you!

  10. I'm firmly in the camp of "why are you discussing this here?". This has nothing to do TBD, so if people are interested in someone else's melodrama - they can go to the source.

  12. Chief Assclown is probably more appropriate...
  13. Wouldn't someone actually have had to purchase one to discover this bug?

  15. For all the bad decisions that Ralph makes, he always seemed to know when he had to cut the HC loose. I was very certain that even if he wanted DJ to stay - he would fire him precisely because of the backlash you are seeing right now. To make a modern day comparison - for anyone who watches hockey - it is a complete and utter embarrassment that Gary Bettman still heads that league for the simple fact that the guy can't even award the Stanley Cup to the winning team w/o the entire arena showering him with boos. It is disgraceful that every shining moment the NHL has is tainted with the hatred of the commissioner. As for the players, they will soon realize that their very careers are being destroyed by this man. Instead of being able to prosper, they are underachieving and leaving money on the table. And for what? Because he takes the blame during the post-game PC? Sooner or later that cover is going to wear thin.
  16. It think this line of argument has two main points: 1. Ralph is perpetually behind the price/performance curve. When he is ready to spend $1M on a coach - the market is $3M. When he is ready to spend $2M - the market is $6M. Many people are like this. 2. Ralph may just look at the statistics and think that the risk/reward for trying to win a championship is too great. And he may be right. 32 teams - 1 winner. Much easier to try and be a 0.500 team then to chase marginal wins with ever greater resources - only to be home on SB Sunday with 30 other teams.
  17. That reminds me of an early 90's comedy bit by the "Punk Comedian" or whatever his name was... "This one is for the stupid people out there! You know who you are! [pause] or maybe you don't know who you are?!"
  18. I assume your situation is much different than Jauron's. He is older and has already made millions. And it isn't just email. This guy is going to get blasted unmercifully on radio, TV, in public, and on the net until the day he leaves. He is also going to get booed unmercifully every time his name is mentioned in that stadium. I'm sorry, but I guarantee you I have enough dignity not to stand in front of 50, 60, 70k people week in and week out and listen to an entire region of the country voice their hatred of me.
  19. I don't think that could possibly have been a pre-determined strategy. If he really wanted him out, he would have pulled the same old "fire your assistants" move (or some other move that he knows he wouldn't do) and then make him resign. However, I do think the scenario is plausible, as I alluded to in my suggestion for a billboard. Unlike Mike Mularkey, I think Jauron could be shamed into leaving, thus my suggestion of "Dick Jauron, Why would you stay where you are not wanted?". If I could have one day in the press room to ask questions - I'm quite sure Jauron would either resign or surrender any shred of self-respect.
  20. Nah, I think the billboard would have more effect. It would need to say something like: "Mr. Jauron - Why would you stay where you are not wanted?" or something that appeals to the man's dignity.
  21. Spare me. I was a "wild card" for Time's POTY too. In early Dec, 2007 we were 6-6. I'm sure the ground swell of support for him was enormous. The only selective thing here is pointing out the brief times in Jauron's career where he may have enjoyed a modicum of support.
  22. If you don't know Steve, then you should pass on making judgments regarding his posts.
  23. This sentiment was shared all over BearsNation... It is baffling that Marv Levy stared at this man week in and week out and could not see what every other knucklehead (your friend excluded, of course ) with a brat in his mouth could see...
  24. I'm going to randomly ban 10 posters...
