  1. I think JJ should have fun with it and flash "TILT! TILT! TILT!" on the monitors when it is hit.
  2. Well, Steve let me know he's going over my head (that leaves out VABills I guess) and is going to get me fired.
  3. my thing is that I'm in an area serviced by FIOS. So, for an extra $10 or so a month I got upgrades to: - 65 locals calls per month w/ zero phone features to unlimited nationwide calling and callerID, etc... - Internet service went from 5/2 to 25/15 - went from DTV with DVR/No HD channels to a full HD package and DVR. So, the FIOS Triple Play package is pretty awesome. It was just too much of an upgrade to turn down just to be able to watch some select live games a few weeks per year.
  4. and FWIW, I wouldn't doubt that they tried to ping my receiver while on the phone and saw that it is unplugged and hasn't "called home" for a week.
  5. I'll let you see this long enough to wish you well in your future endeavors... Signed, Member No.: 1
  6. I don't really care what you think doesn't jive. I was offered this deal because I'm a real customer who is leaving, not someone gaming the system. I could care less if you believe me or not. Do I have something to gain here by lying to everyone? and no they aren't dying to keep my $120. They ARE dying to keep their ST subscriber base up though.
  7. either add something of value here or get out of my thread.
  8. Ok, I'm going to use you as an example, but his isn't directed at you. I wouldn't give it to you either. The people gaming the system call up and "ask for things". I can see asking to match a deal being currently offered by FIOS, Dish, or cable, but the 1st sign that someone is asking for free football, I would go tell you and anyone else to go pound sand. I called and said "cancel my service". Period. When they offered a discount, I said "no cancel my service". They they offered another one and I said "no, cancel my service". And we did a few rounds of this. I wasn't milking them for anything and they could have, at any time, said, sure and honored my request. I would have been fine with that because I am/was legitimately leaving.
  9. well, it isn't really free totally. It ultimately will cost me $120 for the ST, a base programming package for 4 months, and DVR service. Which is $80 more than I plan to spend with NFL game rewind.
  10. what are you talking about?
  11. 1st of all, not to get all moral here, but I'm not a real big fan of calling up a company and pretending that I am dissatisfied, just to get discounts. I don't know, that just doesn't seem right to me. Anyway, I already canceled the ST last week and today I called to cancel my DTV service all together, because I got FIOS Triple Play. So, I was legitimately leaving and this was their best effort to keep me (or should I say their best effort to keep their ST subscriber base up). I may still leave, but I'll think about it for a few more hours.
  12. yeah, well - what did he ever accomplish? I always thought his grape jelly was overrated as a kid.

  14. plus FREE DVR service for 6 months and a downgrade to my package to the $30/month tier... so, I would end up getting all that for $120. BEAT THAT! I'm still not sure I'll even do it, but maybe I'll put that box in the bedroom or the basement when it gets finished.
  15. no, that's not part of it. I wasn't comparing the two sizes at all. I only made the observation that 42" sets seem tiny these days, which implies that they felt bigger in the past.
  16. I think "how cute" I should pick up a couple for the kids... Man it was only 6 years ago I was rocking a 27" CRT, now I look at these 42" screens and they seem so incredibly small. Who's with me?
  17. FYI, the password is in the 1st post...

  22. To make it worse. Watch all three plays. 1 second loss per play. At least that is what I saw on ESPN's highlights.
  23. Ok, WTF... The announcers are are assclowns. More on that later... There was one second left on the clock! Why did they end the game? Friggin' announcers. "I don't know if that PI will make any difference. Yeah, I'm sure that 1st down from the 2 was meaningless. Then they ran a play from 9 seconds to 5 seconds and the announcers say "one more play left". Why not two? They just ran a play that was 4 seconds. Why not do it again?
  24. I assume she went there uninvited and Bill wanted her out. She probably felt entitled to be there due to her position with the team, but I doubt Polian gave a rat's ass. I assume when she didn't leave he called her a name. At least that's one understandable way it could have went down.
  25. Like I said, I have no idea what she did or didn't know, so I can't make any judgments on her football knowledge. I do know that she was employed by her father and like it or not - that raises red flags. Apparently Bill didn't think too highly of her and he wanted her out of his way. Now, you said she has every right to be in the draft room. Really? Why would you think that? I'm thinking the GM is there and whomever he wants to be there. Does every member of the Bills organization get to be in the draft room if they want to? I'm thinking "no".
