I usually have your back on most everything you post, but I'm with GG on this one. We now have a green light to interview any person not under contract, w/o doing the cloack and dagger routine. If our football man is currently unemployed, then we can have a reasonable discussion and thoughtful consideration. An early hire would allow them to get acquainted and thoughtfully consider who the coach might be. It's all upside in my book.

It was high risk - high reward. Haven't there been novels written here about our gutless staff? The guy said go and win the game and they came up a referee's opinion short. Was it unconventional? Sure. But so what. He has a QB that threw for 375 yards and won 3 Super Bowls. He gave him a chance to gain two yards and seal the game.

FWIW, this has been the pattern for years. From my memory, traffic is heaviest after the season through Feb. It starts to taper and then spikes for the draft. After that it tapers until opening day. A new spike occurs and it tapers until the final day where we can renew our calls for a new owner/GM/Coach/QB...

I would say my service approaches "great". There is a dead spot around UMBC that I think is because of overload, but beyond that - I have little trouble in Balt/Wash.
