Batten (6'2 3/4, 24) has been impressive with his ability to impact games rushing the passer, chasing down running plays and making plays when dropping into coverage. Batten plays with great passion and could be an ideal development prospect with the potential to become a starter. Batten could become a mid-round pick if he performs well at the postseason all-star games against improved competition.

    Some of you are a piece of work... 2nd round? 3rd round? You have no idea when he would have been taken. If the Bills took him in RD2 - who says 1 other team didn't also think highly of him? It doesn't matter where you pick your guys as long as you get them. Clearly, they didn't want to risk losing him.

    I think the Bills think he is more than just a top RB. They think he is a playmaking TD scoring RB. Big difference.

    This pick isn't made in a vacuum. You have to weigh your choices. Is the top playmaker in the draft plus an OT in RD 3 better or worse than the 3rd best OT in RD 1 and a RB/WR/DE/LB etc... in the 3rd?
