‘It was an ugly start to the game for the Bills. The defense let the Raiders storm down the field on the opening drive, going five plays for 75 yards and cashing in with a Davante Adams touchdown.’

‘”The thing is with this game, it gives you the lowest lows and the highest highs, but I love feeling how I felt last week, I really do,” Allen said. “It makes the good feel that much better. It forces us to be better, and I want to be the best I can be playing this game, and the best quarterback I can be for the Buffalo Bills. So, I take the bad with the good. I understand it, and I’m just trying to let it fuel me to my benefit.”‘

‘”We already knew what we have, but putting it on tape is totally different,” Hyde said. “But come on guys, it’s Week 2. It was Week 1 last week and the sky was falling. It’s Week 2 in an early season, and we’re trying to go out there and play our best ball. This is just something to give us a little confidence.”‘

‘This Bills team knows how they looked against the Jets, and they just want to make sure that one loss doesn’t turn into two.’

‘”I think that’s really big, whether it’s a wide receiver, tight end, running back, whoever it is, we need that,” McDermott said. “We didn’t get it as much as we would’ve liked to, but I did see in the two-minute drive where Gabe stepped up his game, which was needed. There’s only one ball, and with all that being said, we need to make sure that Stefon gets what he needs in terms of a number one receiver, but spraying the ball around and other people becoming viable options is also what we need.”‘

‘”It’s so important you have to realize you don’t hold your job in your hands when you have the ball, you have everyone’s jobs,” Orlovsky explained. “Everyone’s futures and everyone’s hopes are in your hands, and Josh lost sight of that a little bit, I feel. Certainly the play kind of says that, and I think someone has to sit down and look him in the eye and say, ‘Look, I think we have to grow up when it comes to this.’ Because the moment Aaron goes down, there’s only one way they lose that game, and he can’t be the reason they lose that game.”‘

‘”I feel like we’ll mix it up,” Diggs said. “Like I said, we don’t have a shortage of talent on this offense. I feel like we’ve got a lot of guys that can make plays. But it also feels like ‘Damn, what direction do we want to go in? We’ve got so many weapons.’ So I feel like it’s a good spot to be in. Week to week, you don’t know what you’re going to get or how it’s going to show up. For me, hopefully I’m out there mixing it up a little bit.”‘

‘”Just like any other athlete, we try to attack the problem from a lot of different angles and help Josh as much as we can,” McDermott explained. “There’s a piece where he has to do it on his own, too. We can only do so much, and then he has to make the adjustment on his own as well. This game and this team mean a lot to him and [Monday night’s] game he wants back, like we all do. So I just know when he’s had situations like before, he’s reset, rebounded and come out better the next game. That’s what we’re focused on now.”‘

‘”He knows he can play better,” McDermott said. “I know he’s capable of playing better. He’s capable of playing smarter as well, and he’s got to do that for us. Number one, stay healthy, and number two, take care of the football.”‘

‘”There’s times that I’ve felt like I lost us the game,” wide receiver Gabe Davis said. “But it’s never one player, so I’m not blaming Josh. No one on this team is blaming Josh. We have our moments and have our times. We’re behind him 100 percent.”‘

‘”It’s an amazing feeling to represent the Buffalo Bills here in Rochester, and actually have a bar for all of the Bills Mafia fans to come to and watch the games,” said Kaitlyn Morse, the manager of Bar-Bill.’

‘”We’ve got a new opportunity, brand new season, a spankin’ new season to put some good things on tape and show what we can do as an offense and as a team,” Diggs said. “For me, that’s the big picture, but see the forest through the trees and it starts with game one. I know everybody’s extremely excited.”‘

‘”What kind of team you got?” Diggs said. “Figuring out your identity and all the stuff that you’ve been putting on tape. Consistently working, kind of getting that, to actually put it to use. I feel like that’s the challenge more so than anything — not necessarily the opponent because you’ve been watching those guys, they’ve been watching you, and you kind of get to figure out ‘Has what I’ve been studying, has what I’ve been seeing consistently, is that what I’m going to get?’ because you don’t know that. You never know.”‘

‘They had cornhole, wings and maybe some libations, but they said there’s been so much hype entering this season and there’s no place they’d rather be Monday night.’

‘”It’s a track meet, especially that front seven,” Morse said. “For us, like I said before, it’ll just be matching that competitive spirit that they have and for us not riding. They’re going to make their plays, first and foremost, they’re going to do that. But for us, we’ll just be trying to mitigate those to as minimal as possible and try to take advantage of the opportunities that are given to us.”‘
