Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Chargers

‘After a terrific performance just a week ago, the Bills ran for 105 yards on 30 carries, averaging just 3.5 yards per run.’

Chargers are proof to Bills fans, it could be worse

‘Despite not being the most mobile, Herbert does everything he can to lift the Chargers out of obscurity. He makes multiple throws every week that can make anyone’s jaw hit the floor. Yet, the Chargers have done everything to screw it up around him. Brandon Staley developed into probably the worst coach in the NFL.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Bills at Chargers: Sal’s keys, notes and stats

‘The Chargers have fired their head coach and replaced him with an interim head coach. They’re coming off an embarrassing defeat on national television. They would love to bounce-back and show the country that wasn’t indicative of who they are. The best way for the Bills to not let that happen is to jump on them early, let them know it will be a tough night, and give them no hope to all the upset.’

Bills place Jordan Phillips on Injured Reserve

‘The move means Phillips in ineligible to play in any of the final three regular season games, and must also sit out the Wild Card Round of the players, should the Bills make it to the postseason. He would be first eligible to return in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.’

McDermott: Bills have to be ready for Chargers’ best on Saturday

‘”There’s some unknowns, we’re not really sure what to expect schematically, there’s not much table quarterback. So we have to go out there expecting their best,” said McDermott during his weekly appearance on the “Extra Point Show” on WGR. “Typically teams bounce back from situations [like this], and we’ve got to be ready to play.”‘

James Cook misses Wednesday’s practice due to illness

‘Cook was the only new addition to the team’s official injury report, which saw 15 total players listed. This included six players who were full participants and another six who were limited.’

James Cook named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

‘Cook put up an impressive stat line of 221 yards of total offense, 179 rushing yards, and 42 receiving yards. Along with that, he recorded a receiving touchdown and rushing touchdown. This play earned him the AFC Offensive Player Of The Week award for the first time in his career.’

Opinion: Bills grades: Week 15 vs. Cowboys

‘What can you say about an aspect of the game that wasn’t really used? Dalton Kincaid had some tough drops. Gabe Davis didn’t locate the ball on a fly route and fight back to it. Stefon Diggs had a sick one-handed grab. Josh Allen threw a dot to James Cook for a touchdown.’

Bills open 21-day practice window for DaQuan Jones

‘The practice window opening means the Bills now have 21 days to activate Jones to the 53-man roster. If they don’t do that, he will stay on Injured Reserve and be ineligible to return for the remainder of the season.’

Jordan Phillips week-to-week after undergoing wrist surgery

‘Running back Ty Johnson, who suffered a shoulder injury during the game but returned to action, will continue to be evaluated, according to McDermott.’

Opinion: A statement victory for Bills

‘The 24-year-old has emerged as a top weapon in this offense. All of his attributes were on display like his patience, vision, ability to make defenders miss, cut-back runs, and speed to the edge. Cook also doesn’t get enough credit as a physical runner, a guy who can break tackles and get yards after initial contact.’

Bills run game dominates Dallas

‘The Buffalo Bills running game led by James Cook dominates the Dallas Cowboys defense on Sunday afternoon taking down the Cowboys 31-10 at Highmark Stadium.’

McDermott: ‘Extremely grateful to lead this group of men and women’

‘The Bills were able to gain over 351 total yards on Monday night, 221 of which were locked in by running back James Cook. In the first three quarters, the Bills ran the ball 69% of the time. Despite the lack of throwing plays, McDermott was quick to praise his wide receivers and believes they carried their own weight whenever the ball came their way.’

Allen: A ‘complete team win’ against Dallas

‘”I think that’s kind of what we’re built for games like this.” Allen said postgame. “And finding ways in our defense went out there and against a fantastic offense and did their thing.”‘

Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Cowboys at Bills

‘The Bills dropped at least four passes. Tight end Dalton Kincaid had just two targets and dropped both of them. Very uncharacteristic of the rookie, but two balls he should have caught. Stefon Diggs dropped a third down pass. James Cook dropped what would have been a touchdown.’
