Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

‘This week’s honor comes after a huge performance from Allen in a 38-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday to help Buffalo earn its first win of the season. In the Bills’ home opener at Highmark Stadium, Allen completed 31-of-37 pass attempts for 274 yards and three touchdowns.’

Leonard Floyd, Micah Hyde day-to-day due to injury

‘Floyd injured his ankle, while Hyde had a hamstring injury. Both occurred during the fourth quarter, and both players were questionable to return but did not take another snap on defense the rest of the game.’

Opinion: Bills grades: Week 2 vs. Raiders

‘The matchup with the biggest question mark, Spencer Brown vs. Maxx Crosby, still was largely in favor of the Bills.’

Opinion: That’s more like it

‘Following their 75-yard opening touchdown drive, the Raiders only gained 165 yards the rest of the way.’

Bills dominate Raiders in 2023 home opener

‘The Raiders eventually got the ball moving again on their next drive, working as far as the Bills’ 29-yard line before a 47-yard Daniel Carlson field goal cut the Raiders’ deficit to 14-10. From that point on, it was all Buffalo the rest of the way.’

McDermott focuses on discipline, humility in win over Raiders

‘”The discipline was present, really with the whole team, in particular Josh [Allen],” said McDermott following Buffalo’s victory. “When he does that, when he’s willing to take what they give him and take those check downs and then use his legs as well in a decisive way, he make’s it really hard to defend.”‘

Allen embraced challenge of Week 2

‘With this game man, it gives you the lowest lows, it gives you the highest highs, but I love feeling how I felt last week. … It makes the good feel that much better,” said Allen following Sunday’s victory in Orchard Park. “It forces us to be better. I want to be the best I can be playing this game, and being the best quarterback I can be for the Buffalo Bills. I take the bad with the good, I understand it, and I’m just trying to let it fuel me and use it to my benefit.”‘

Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Raiders at Bills

‘Once again this week, just like last week, the Bills gave up too many yards on screen passes, especially on the very first series.’

Simon: What I’m watching for when the Bills host the Raiders

‘I’ll start with the offense which definitely had a two tight end personality to it in the opener. The Bills had both Dawson Knox and first round pick Dalton Kincaid on the field at the same time for the majority of the offensive snaps. According to the Buffalo News the Bills used two tight ends 66% of the time. Last season the Bills had the lowest 12 personnel percentage in the NFL. Knox was on the field for 84% of the snaps and Kincaid was at 80%. They combined for just 51 yards receiving and seven catches so I’m sure the team would like to see more production from that duo.’

Opinion: What to watch for: Raiders at Bills

‘Speaking of receivers, the speed the Bills added with the signing of Deonte Harty was not on display in Week 1. Harty had three catches for a measly nine yards. The three throws were either behind or right around the line of scrimmage, and there was next-to-nothing in yards-after-catch.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Raiders At Bills: Sal’s keys, notes and stats

‘Bills quarterback Josh Allen has to be better. It’s as simple as that. In the team’s opening week loss at the New York Jets, Allen threw three interceptions and fumbled the ball away once. It was not a good performance. The Raiders will look to capitalize on any Allen mistake – or bad decision. He can’t let that happen and needs to take care of the football much, much better.’

McDermott knows Raiders will be a tough test

‘”He got right back in the saddle, he’s worked hard,” said McDermott during his weekly appearance on the “Extra Point Show” on WGR. “It matters to Josh, we all know that. He’s very competitive, and he’s focused on this week’s game.”‘

Bills healthy as can be heading into Sunday’s home opener against Raiders

‘Just one name is listed on the Bills’ injury report, as center Mitch Morse is listed as a full participant with a finger injury.’

Dorsey wants to get back to playing smart, not conservative football

‘”I think when you go back and look at those things, they’re correctable things that we can look at and say, ‘Let’s play smart and not conservative in these situations,” said Dorsey.’

Bills have clean injury report; Jakobi Meyers still out for Raiders

‘Only center Mitch Morse, who’s has a finger injury, appeared on the official Thursday designations, but he was a full participant.’
