‘Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid was on the receiving end of two touchdown passes from Josh Allen. QB1 got the ball into the end zone many times with good touchdown tosses to Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox.’

‘”I feel like it’s just what’s best for the team right now,” said McDermott on Thursday in Orchard Park. “Every preseason is a little bit different based on where guys are and where the team is.”‘

‘There was also a bit of a scare early at practice with guard Connor McGovern, going down briefly with, what appeared to be, an injury to his right knee. Trainers looked over McGovern, but the veteran never left the field. He did not take any more reps after that point, though.’

‘There was nothing that rose to the level of any actual fights, but one meeting was sparked after defensive end A.J. Epenesa threw offensive lineman Alec Anderson to the ground near the end of a play. Anderson took exception to it, then several other of his line mates came over to address the situation.’

‘White is coming off a season this past spring with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL. He was an undrafted free agent after playing with the University of Oklahoma for five seasons.’

‘”When the Bills had called, I hit up Christian to set it up. I got Josh on the phone, and he said he was a big fan of mine, which I was surprised,” said Sherfield during his meeting with the media following Tuesday’s practice. “We hit it off really well. You would’ve thought that me and Josh knew each other for months on end the way that conversation went. That really helped elevate a lot of the decision making, as far as coming here.”‘

There were some players that had rough nights, and there are some competitions for spots that have not been settled, most notably at middle linebacker.’

‘The 25-year-old Johnson was originally a sixth-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of Maryland.’

‘”His spaceship is definitely going to the moon. I ain’t going to go as far to say he’s going to land there right now, but you’re going see another level of James Cook,” he said. “We’ve seen him in the SEC, how he evolved and became who he is. We’re going to see that being implemented a bit more with his comfort. Being able to play in a professional league with other star-powered guys, I think he will find his way with our coaching staff.”‘

‘While McDermott did not disclose the specific injury, Doyle injured his left leg during the third quarter of the team’s 27-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday night.’

‘The Pittsburgh Steelers scored on their first two possessions of the game, and the Bills came out of the gate stumbling and were never able to recover as they ended up falling to the Steelers 27-15.’

‘The Bills offense struggled to get going as the game began with the Steelers scoring on their first two drives. The Bills accounted for 13 penalties that added up to 19 yards over the entire game which did not help their efforts in moving the ball.’

‘Allen finished his day going 7/10 for 64 yards passing and one of the bright spots in the Bills passing attack was rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid who himself caught three passes for 45 yards. On Kincaid play, Allen had this to say. “He especially(Kincaid) came out and made some really nice plays for us and that’s a positive sign.”’

‘The opening quarter was a complete disaster for the Bills. They were out-gained 133 yards to 66. They were 0-for-3 on third down. They had two yards rushing, punted twice (one of which was tipped), committed six penalties for 46 yards, gave up a 62-yard touchdown run and a 25-yard TD pass and trailed 14-0 less than five minutes into the game.’

‘Terrel Bernard has been out with a hamstring injury, so he won’t have a shot to play in this one. That means Tyrel Dodson should have another big chance to show what he can do, and veteran AJ Klein is also still in the mix.’
