‘”Josh injured his hand in the fourth quarter. He was looked at and went back in and functioned. After the game, he was looked at again, and he’s been cleared to practice today and cleared to play in the game,” detailed McDermott ahead of Monday’s walk-through practice in Orchard Park.’

‘For the Bills, nickel cornerback Taron Johnson did not participate with a forearm injury. He has already been declared out for Thursday’s game by head coach Sean McDermott.’

‘In the closing minutes of the first half, the Buffalo offense needed to get something going with a touchdown drive. Allen and company were able to do just that, as the Bills quarterback rushed to the right for a seven-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 17-10 before halftime.’

‘”We weren’t very good at all. Some of it was that they were getting into third-and-manageable situations and that goes back to winning first and second down. I thought Bobby and the defensive staff did a great job at half time addressing it and making some adjustments and I think we came out better in the second half. We played a little bit more our style of defense and were a little bit more aggressive and just playing and having some fun out there as opposed to waiting and reacting to what they were doing.”‘

We get the ball, find a way to score points before and after the half. And coach [Sean] McDermott preaches that all of the time, that’s good situational football by all of our guys.”‘

‘Sure, there were a couple flags thrown that either shouldn’t have or maybe considered ticky-tak, but the bottom line is the Bills committed too many penalties as a team, and especially too many in critical situations, including wiping a touchdown off the board. They were called for a total of nine penalties for 65 yards.’

‘Coleman flashed the ability to do this multiple times at training camp, however, really his only opportunity to show this in the preseason was on a target from Mitch Trubisky to the end-zone, that even Coleman admitted later is a ball he absolutely has to bring in.’

‘There’s going to be an adjustment to the speed and chemistry, especially for a Bills offense with so many new faces at wideout. Josh Allen and his receivers will need to find a rhythm and feel comfortable together early.’
