‘”They mean an immense amount to me, to our organization. Still, we wish them well, their families as well. We’re happy that they’re happy,” said Bills head coach Sean McDermott of both Davis and Morse during his weekly appearance on the “Extra Point Show on Friday. “Listen, it’s unfortunate, that’s kind of the nature of the business from time-to-time. You wish you could have everyone just stay here, such as life in a lot of ways. But at the end of the day, we’re proud of those guys, and we’re looking forward to competing on Monday night.”‘

‘McDermott did not give a timeline on either player’s return, but the team did not place Johnson on Injured Reserve last week. That may be an encouraging sign the Bills are optimistic he will miss less than the required four games for a stint on IR.’

‘The 24-year-old earns AFC Offensive Player of the Week after accounting for three touchdowns in Buffalo’s 31-10 win over the Dolphins. The first touchdown came via a pass from quarterback Josh Allen, while the other two came on the ground, including a 49-yard score to give the Bills a 24-10 lead in the second quarter.’

‘If Arizona is “back” and Buffalo took care of them and Miami, it makes everyone feel good about the Bills. They chalk up wins, that’s just what they do, no matter the schedule.’

‘”You know, you look at the stat sheet, I don’t, I don’t know what our numbers were, but I know we were really low in time with possession, and we were probably really low in total yards, but still managed to put up 31 points, and that, that means your defense is doing something, right? So they had our back tonight, and we’re going to need them going forward. And I’m just very proud of how guys stepped up into their to their roles, and they played together. You know, when you play together like that, you’re typically going to have good results.”‘

‘”These guys work hard, so good things happen when you work hard, and sometimes the ball finds you like that.” McDermott said postgame. “And again, it was a good team win. So all three phases. It’s not about one person, but again, all three phases factored in the win.”‘

‘While we don’t know the specific diagnosis or extent just yet, a pectoral injury can be serious and longer-term. DaQuan Jones missed twelve games last year with his torn pec. If the Bills lose Bernard for that length of time, along with Matt Milano already out long-term, it will be a significant blow.’

‘The Bills defense looked to make a statement against a fast and furious Miami offense. After a few good stops, the defense cam through with cornerback Christian Benford tipping a ball into Ja’Marcus Ingram’s hands where he returned it to the Miami 47-yard-line for 23 yards.’

‘They did all of that with a secondary that included two sixth round draft picks(Christian Benford and Damar Hamlin and two undrafted free agents(Cam Lewis and Ja’Marcus Ingram). The Bills find talent wherever and whenever they can and then coaches develop those players on the job. That’s how the best teams in the NFL keep winning.’

‘Rousseau started hot out of the gate with a six-tackle performance, which included a career-best three sacks of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. One of those sacks also resulted in a forced turnover in the third quarter of Buffalo’s 34-28 win at Highmark Stadium.’

‘The Bills will need to make them work for everything they get, and not give up free, big plays. Every snap they force Miami to take is another chance to make a defensive play.’

‘”Typically against the Dolphins with their high-powered offense, it’s about points, not yards, and then taking care of the football,” McDermott explained. “You look at the games that we’ve played, the first game last season, we were able to take the ball away and score, and score touchdowns rather than field goals. In the second game, we had yards, but not as many points. So it’s points over yards, and making sure we take care of the ball.”‘

‘The Bills quarterback wore a glove on his left hand during the session, clearly visible during the media-viewing portion of practice on a beautiful, sunny day outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center.’

‘Allen has made a living making the unreal seem common, and a damn good living doing so. However, those comments mark that he will someday make that decision to fly, and it becomes more of an educated wish instead of his usual schtick.’

‘It felt, to me, like the Cardinals left some plays out there against the safety tandem of Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin. That bears watching, especially going to play the Miami Dolphins on a short week.’
