‘”I just liked what I saw from him when it comes to getting to the line and going ‘okay, what’s really the problem with this coverage?’ or ‘where is the opportunity with this coverage?’ and he was decisive with the football.”‘

Bills swap out punters, sign Matt Darr and release Colton Schmidt
‘For Schmidt, it is the second time this season he has been released by the Bills. Schmidt was cut in favor of rookie Corey Bojorquez one week before the start of the season, but was brought back to the team after they had to place Bojorquez on injured reserve on October 31st. In three games this season, Schmidt had a net punting average of only 33.8 yards on 16 punts, with 4 pinned inside the 20.’
Pegula Sports and Entertainment to begin comprehensive study of venues
‘Over the coming months, CAA ICON will guide PSE through a stadium feasibility analysis to identify the needed improvements to all aspects of the fan and team experience at either a new football stadium or renovated New Era Field. According to the Pegulas, the study will equally focus on modernizing the more than 23-year-old KeyBank Center.’
McDermott on Robert Foster: “You don’t often find his combination of size, speed and toughness”
‘McDermott on if he’s a brass knuckle guy: “I’ve been in a few fights in my life.”‘
Bills survive a flag filled game, beat the Jaguars 24-21
‘The Bills defense was gashed on the ground in the first half, allowing Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette to run for 95 yards and two scores on 18 carries. Buffalo did limit the passing game, as Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles was 12-of-23 passing for 127 yards and one touchdown, but was also intercepted twice by the Bills defense.’
Allen’s first game back is a success
‘The passing number don’t look pretty for Allen after that but trust me when I tell you he passed the eye ball test. After that first quarter, Allen was just 4-14 for 35 yards. But a couple of third down passes that were good for first downs were wiped out by penalties and a beautiful 35 yard throw to Deonte Thompson was knocked out of the receiver’s hands by a Jags defensive back.’
Back to it
‘I would expect fans will appreciate Allen’s enthusiasm on a day where things got a bit nasty following a brawl in corner of the Bills end zone. I think fans have liked Allen for the way he handles himself. His sideline interactions with teammates, exhorting the crowd at the end of the third quarter when the stadium was already at a fever pitch will not go unnoticed. It helps that Allen delivered a fantastic touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter to close out that wild sequence.’
Buffalo sports is on an 11 game winning streak
‘Referee Walt Coleman and his crew took over after that and refed maybe the worst game I have ever seen in the National Football League. They threw flags on almost every play and followed that up with long discussions acting like they didn’t know how to apply the rules.’
Sal’s Sticks: Jaguars at Bills
‘Williams was all over the field and finished with his highest tackle total of the season with seven. Two of those were for a loss. He also had 1.5 sacks and added two quarterback hurries. The 13-year veteran was terrific.’
Jaguars at Bills: Sal’s keys, notes and stats
‘Coinciding with Allen’s return is the addition of more speed to the Bills’ offense. Wide receivers Isaiah McKenzie and Robert Foster both had big roles in the team’s 41-10 win over the Jets, then they went out and signed wideout Deonte Thompson for his third stint with the club. All will give Allen speed to work with down the field, as well as more options for offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s play-calling.”
All systems appear ready to go for Allen’s return
‘While it’s almost a certainly Allen is going to start, the same cannot be said for several other key players. Here is the team’s official Friday practice participation report, as well as the game status for each player..’.
Linebacker Matt Milano clears concussion protocol
‘Buffalo still has some contributors banged up, however. Defensive end Shaq Lawson injured his elbow in practice on Tuesday, which caused Lawson to miss practice on Wednesday. Tight end Charles Clay is still unable to practice due to a hamstring injury.’
Capaccio: Bills season now AAA: All About Allen
‘From there, it became Allen’s team, but a team that still severely lacked in areas they needed to improve to help him. Namely, wide receiver and offensive line. A wideout group that didn’t have much speed and was relying on the unreliable Kelvin Benjamin to still be their No. 1 guy. An offensive line that was struggling to open holes in the running game, partly because defenses didn’t respect the Bills’ downfield passing game. And who could blame them, despite having a QB with a rocket for an arm?’
Allen preparing as if he will start against the Jaguars
‘“The comfort level in the elbow is getting to where I think it needs to be, where I want it to be,” said Allen following practice on Monday. “I know we’re still taking it day-by-day, but I’m coming out here and I’m going to act like gonna be I’m starting on Sunday. I’m excited, thankful the opportunity. Our training staff… they did a fantastic job with me, and we’re going to continue with that process.’
Allen practices in full on Monday
‘”I’m excited to see him back on the field, excited to see our team back on the field today for a few reps just to get them warmed up.”‘
