‘The Philadelphia Eagles comes to town next, and while they’ve been inconsistent so far this season, they do represent the second-best opponent the Bills have seen so far this season. At least that’s how I see it.’

Bills get a win we all expected
‘The passing game did not have the big day I was anticipating, and it was surprising given the fact the Dolphins defense has been awful through its first five games. They also went into this matchup down two of its starters in the secondary. Josh Allen and company were able to move the ball in the first half, but unable to finish drives by getting into the end zone. At times, it was Allen missing a target, or not seeing an open receiver.’
Can Josh Allen figure out the deep ball?
‘In two seasons with Buffalo, Allen has struggled to utilize that arm talent while to the surprise of many, taking significant steps in the short and intermediate areas of the passing game.’
Arrow Up/Arrow Down – Dolphins at Bills
‘Just seemed like Bills office of coordinator Brian Daboll got way too cute in the first half. Too many times he called for designed Josh Allen runs, then called a low percentage pass on 3rd and 1 while inside the Dolphins red zone.’
What to watch for: Bills-Dolphins
‘The Dolphins are 0-5. The Bills are 4-1. Buffalo is a 17-point favorite, but this is the NFL and we’ve all seen teams lose in this situation. In fact, the last two time the Bills were 17-point favorites, they lost.’
McDermott – We’ve been able to move the ball and play well in critical moments
‘”We’ve got to continue building a good, strong foundation the right way on both of those phases, offense and special teams, in order to get to where we’re trying to get to this year, next year and the year after, as we continue to grow and try to play better each week.”‘
Bills/Dolphins injury reports
‘In addition to Brown, linebackers Matt Milano (hamstring) and Corey Thompson (ankle) were also limited, while every other player on the team was a full particpant. RB Frank Gore received a veteran rest day.’
Mahomes injury could significantly change the Bills’ approach
‘Outside of the New England Patriots, what team is clearly superior to the Bills? Who is seen as a clear-cut favorite to represent the conference in the Super Bowl?’
Bills by the numbers
‘The Bills just need to go 6-5 the rest of the season to reach the 10 win mark for the first time since 1999. Based on how the AFC is playing out, 10 wins should also be enough to get them a wild card spot.’
Several Bills players return to full practice on Wednesday
‘Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe were both given veteran rest days.’
Ryan Fitzpatrick to start for the Dolphins against the Bills
‘Fitzpatrick started the team’s first two games of the season, going 25-for-50 for 274 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in losses to the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots. Rosen took over for the next three contests, losing to the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and Redskins.’
Week 6 was good to the Bills
‘Now, the standings are starting to look like the Bills might not have much competition if they have to grab the fifth or sixth seed.’
Sal: Vacation got me thinking…..
‘One of the more underrated but greatly important aspects of how Sean McDermott has approached coaching the Buffalo Bills this season is maintaining the long-term view, especially when it comes to injuries. Great examples are the decisions to keep running back Devin Singletary and cornerback Taron Johnson inactive the last couple weeks when both seemed to be trending towards being able to play. McDermott has made it clear through his actions that he’s playing this season as a marathon and not a sprint. Having players available in November and December is much more valuable than risking a setback by playing one game in October.’
Greg Cosell is all about the Bills defense
‘”You know it’s a defense as you know guys that doesn’t look exciting because it’s not high percentage blitz, they don’t bring people from all over the field. You know they blitz here and there, they selectively blitz and can be very effective when they do that. It’s really a defense that lines up plays, plays really efficiently, doesn’t make mistakes and is not out of position.”‘
Bills trade Zay Jones to the Raiders
‘This past week against the Tennessee Titans, Jones was only given one offensive snap in the game after wide receiver Duke Williams was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad. Williams went on to reel in four catches for 29 yards, and also caught the game-winning touchdown to put the Bills ahead 14-7 in the fourth quarter.’
