‘As far as the Bills, defensive end Shaq Lawson was excused from Thursday’s practice for personal reasons, but head coach Sean McDermott said he’ll be back and there’s no concern over him missing the game Sunday.’

‘“Brandon and I had some conversations, really over the last couple of weeks, and I know he and his staff do a good job of looking into things,” McDermott said. “At the end of the day, I think you guys know we’re going to do things that are in the best interest of this organization, short and long term, and we didn’t find something we thought would be responsible for us to do. I know a lot of teams go out there and just do things, and we’re trying to do this thing the right way here, and we want to be responsible with that, as well.”’

‘There was plenty of discussion amongst fans and media members leading up to the NFL trade deadline, and the day did not live up to the hype. Just one trade was made in the league, and it was a salary dump move by the Rams.’

‘That defense is the thing that is going to have to get sorted out here if the Bills are going to keep rolling towards a 10 or 11-win season. It would have been nice for the offense to pick them up in this game. It also would have been nice if the Bills defense hadn’t been run over by the Eagles.’

‘The fourth quarter this season has often been good to the Bills as they have been able to find a switch to find ways to win football games. This game did not be that sort of ending for Buffalo as the Eagles continued to gash the Bills run defense, while the offense failed to move the ball down the field.’

‘For some reason, the Bills went almost exclusively to the passing game in their attempt to register another come from behind victory. I have no problem with the evolution of the Bills into a pass driven offense, because that is how you win in today’s NFL, but how about trying to sprinkle in some runs to help out on a very windy day, which made passing the ball challenging.’

‘Both the defensive line and the offensive lines were thrown all over the field. The Eagles were supposed to be fragile after getting blasted last week by the Cowboys and stabbing each other in the backs in the media, but they were anything but.’

‘Passing the 50-yard mark again, Brown continues to be one of just two wide receivers to have at least 50 receiving yards in every game this season.’

‘Simply put, the Bills were gashed all game long. They had no answer for the Eagles running the football. Several times when it looked like they started to figure things out, Philly came back with another big run. The Eagles lit them up to the tune of 218 yards on 41 carries for a whopping 5.3 yards per carry average.’

‘Over the two weeks, Eagles tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert have combined for 15 receptions and 209 yards. Ertz has always been one of the top tight ends in football, but now Goedert is showing he is also a major contributor. Bills linebacker Matt Milano was out last week and is questionable to play in this game. The Bills use several players to cover opposing tight ends, given different situations, but if Milano doesn’t play it will be very challenging to keep the Eagles’ duo in check. And even if he does, it won’t be easy. Philly will be relying on both of them to make plays.’

‘Bills offensive guard Quinton Spain (foot) and fullback Patrick DiMarco (ankle) returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session, while linebackers Matt Milano (hamstring) and Corey Thompson (ankle), wide receiver Duke Williams (shoulder), and cornerback Kevin Johnson (neck) were all limited. Safety Kurt Coleman was the only player who didn’t participate due to injury (hamstring).’

‘For the Bills, it has been for the better at 5-1. Not a single starter on the offensive side of the football have missed a game due to injury.’
