‘The Texans defense has been bad this year against the run, but particularly the last two months. Since their bye in week 10, over their final 7 games, the Texans have allowed an average of 168.6 yards rushing and a whopping 5.36 yards per carry.’

Bills list four as questionable; Watt will play, Fuller a game-time decision for Houston
‘For the Texans, head coach Bill O’Brien said star defensive end J.J. Watt will play “quite a bit,” but wide receiver Will Fuller will be a game-time decision. Fuller and four others were listed as questionable for the game.’
Is playoff experience important for a quarterback?
‘If someone like Allen can handle the pressure in the regular season, producing at the highest level of any quarterback in the fourth quarter (as he has)?’
Sal’s 2019 Bills Awards
‘It’s tough to go against a quarterback who accounted for 29 total touchdowns, but Josh Allen’s growth was directly tied to the addition of several pieces, but most notably wide receiver John Brown, who turned in the team’s first 1,000-yard receiving season since Sammy Watkins in 2015, and the second of his six-year career, totaling 1,060 yards and six touchdowns on 72 catches. He also threw a touchdown pass to Devin Singletary on Thanksgiving in Dallas against the Cowboys. Brown showed an ability to get open all over the field and beat one on one coverage consistently.’
Leslie Frazier on the playoffs: “Everything shrinks”
‘“It’s just an entirely different atmosphere around the building. The fact that everything shrinks. You’re the big fish in the pond now. When we play this Saturday, we’re going to be the only game that’s going to be shown. That’s not the case during the first 17 weeks of the season. So, it’s unique in that way. All eyes are on you and people that haven’t had a chance to watch you during the course of the year, get a chance to finally see what your team is all about. It’s just completely different and what you’re playing for this time of year is kind of really crystallized now. You’re in the tournament for the world championship, and that means a lot. So, the emotions and all the things you maybe dreamed about as a young kid growing up, to be in this position, and as we all know in this room, there are a lot of guys that play for a long time and never get to this position. So, to get to the playoffs and have this opportunity, it kind of reshapes things in a lot of ways. Really an exciting time for our players.”’
Bills cannot escape the injury bug in a 13-6 loss to the Jets
‘Buffalo is dealing with a couple of injuries in this game, as cornerbacks Levi Wallace and Taron Johnson and offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe all left the game with injuries. All three players would not return after their respective injuries, with defensive back hit hard enough that wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie wound up taking two snaps at cornerback at the end of the game. Offensive tackle Cody Ford and defensive back Siran Neal were also injured but returned to the game.’
It’s on to Houston
‘Now we can set our sights on the playoffs and the Houston Texans. If you’re worried about the Bills going into the post season with back to back losses for the first time this season, don’t. This game meant absolutely nothing and it won’t affect the Bills confidence in the least. Don’t forget, the Bills did go 6-2 on the road this season.’
Arrow Up/Arrow Down – Jets at Bills
‘It was the last home game of the season end it would have been great for the Bills to at least get in the end zone one time to give the home fans something to cheer about, regardless of who was playing and who wasn’t, but they weren’t able to and came away with only three points on the day. The Bills got inside the Jets 20 yard line twice but came away with only one field goal to show for it.’
Bills at Texans playoff game time announced
‘The Buffalo Bills will play the opening game of the 2019 NFL playoffs when they play at the Houston Texans on Saturday, January 4 at 4:35 p.m., the NFL announced on Sunday.’
What to watch for: Bills-Jets
‘With only 46 players allowed to be active on game day, it limits McDermott’s options, as far as how many players can actually sit out. No matter how much Allen plays, or any other player, getting out of the game healthy is the most important thing.’
McDermott: Our recent stretch of games will ‘bode well’ for us
‘”I don’t know that I’ve been around a stretch of games to that caliber that these players have played in. That bodes well for our young players, bodes well for our young quarterback. The environments we’ve been in, most of them have been on the road with Dallas, Pittsburgh and then New England, and then we had the one at home against Baltimore. It’d be one thing to say, ‘Hey, we had all those at home or three of the four at home.’ In this case, we’ve had three of the four on the road.”‘
Nsekhe returns to practice for Bills
‘However, offensive tackle Ty Neske, who hasn’t practiced or played in a game since injuring his ankle week 11 in Miami, and was also listed as “DNP” Wednesday, was practicing and lining up at both left and right tackle during individual positional work. That’s very encouraging news for Nsekhe’s possible availability for the playoffs and might even be an indication he is going to play Sunday.’
Hyde: ‘It’s a great time to be a Bills fan, a Bills player and to be in this community’
‘”It’s a great time to be a Bills fan, a Bills player and to be in this community. Everybody is excited. We’re having fun. Getting here in 2017 and getting into the playoffs, looking back now it’s so hard to get to the playoffs, and seeing that that team was able to make it, what a huge accomplishment that was. Obviously the years in between of making the playoffs and how big that was. And then now just having a complete team. I feel like our quarterback situation is solved, we feel like we have a good defense, and we’re all happy and all having fun. It’s a blessing.”‘
Bills playoff scenarios coming into focus
‘The Bills will play at the Texans, unless the following happens: The Chiefs lose next week AND the Texans win next week. In that case, they would open up at Kansas City.’
Bills locked into fifth seed after 24-17 loss to the Patriots
‘Buffalo’s last gasp at tying the football game wound up just short, getting to within eight yards of the end zone before Allen missed Knox for, what would have been, a touchdown on a 2nd-and-goal passing play. The Patriots blitzed Allen on the next two plays and forced Allen into a desperate throw to Beasley on fourth down that was batted away, ending the game.’
