‘“We’re the underdogs, man,” Dawkins told Bob Papa and Charlie Weis this week on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Nothing has ever been given to us. We’ve never been the favorites, so why start now? We’re going to still play and live with that fire that we’re not the favorites and that nobody is really on our side but us. So, we’re just going to hit this thing rolling, and we’re just going to keep our heads down and we’re going to work. And we’re going to keep grinding and keep grinding and we’re going to play physical, play hard, and we’re going to beat the heck out of people, physically.”’

Thank you, NFL
‘Truth be told, I am very much a Sunday at 1 o’clock kind of football fan, but how can you not be excited about the Bills having four primetime games? If you put aside, for a moment, how the make up of the schedule could impact the Bills’ chances to make the playoffs, then this is about as fun of a schedule as you could draw up for a fan of the team. The Bills get to open the season at home, play five of their eight home games before Thanksgiving (which is great if there are going to be fans at games), play the bigger name teams on their schedule in those night games and have a regularly scheduled Sunday night national TV game in Orchard Park for the first time since 2000.’
Beane: We never spoke to Sammy Watkins
‘After Bleacher Report’s Tyler Dunne told the guys on One Bills Live earlier today that Sammy Watkins had spoke to the Bills about a reunion this offseason, the Bills are saying that is completely false.’
Bills begin rookie minicamp Monday
‘Drafted rookies, undrafted free agents, and any player who has not completed one season in which he earned a year of credited service are eligible to participate in rookie minicamp. Additionally, according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each club may allow no more than five veteran players to participate, as well.’
Poloncarz doubts New Era Field will be packed this season
‘”Just because they announced the season schedule doesn’t mean there actually will be fans in those stands. I don’t know. And there could be a limit on fans by a percentage of individuals,” he said. “Even if you did it at 25% of the fans, that’s still roughly 20,000 people, and then you include the other folks that need to be in the stadium for a football team. This is all new, we don’t know, and I don’t think we’re going to know until probably August.”‘
Bills sign three more draft picks
‘The team announced on Friday that second round defensive end A.J. Epenesa, fourth round wide receiver Gabriel Davis, and fifth round quarterback Jake Fromm have all signed their four-year rookie contracts.’
Bills sign eight undrafted free agents
‘Perhaps the most notable signing of this group of undrafted free agents is tackle Trey Adams, who was once seen as a decent prospect eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft. Adams spent five years playing at the University of Washington, where he appeared in 47 games for the Huskies. However, injuries were a significant factor in his draft stock to fall, including a torn ACL as a junior, as well as back concerns throughout the later portion of his collegiate career.’
Bills sign three of their draft picks
‘The Buffalo Bills have signed three of their picks from the 2020 NFL Draft, the team announced on Thursday.’
Bills release 2020 schedule
‘The highlight of the Bills’ 2020 slate is four primetime games, which includes two Monday Night Football games, a Sunday Night Football game, and a Thursday Night Football game against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.’
Bills get primetime treatment, but face plenty of challenges
‘Three of those four primetime games come in a four-week stretch in December, including a long road trip to take on the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football, followed by a home Sunday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are no stranger to playing under the lights.’
NFL 2020 Schedule has Built-in Contingency Plan
‘The NFL can start the season at any given week. So, if the league deems it is not safe to start the season until Oct. 1, the season will pick up with its Week 4 schedule.’
La Canfora: Bills have the best roster in the AFC East and it ‘doesn’t appear to be particularly close’
‘In his preseason predictions, La Canfora has the Bills winning the AFC East, saying, “They have the best roster in this division and it doesn’t appear to be particularly close to me right now. Even if Josh Allen is more of a project than a solution, as long as he protects the football and does his thing with his legs they will be in the playoffs again. Top-five defense and Stefon Diggs will be a game changer.”‘
John Clayton believes NFL will play all inter-conference games weeks 1-4
‘That means the Bills would open the season by playing, in an unknown order as of right now, home against the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams and on the road against the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. By doing this, if the league did have to cancel the first four weeks, it would still allow for every team to have six divisional and twelve total conference games remaining. Therefore, no team would have a competitive advantage and the schedule would remain balanced when it came to determining playoff teams in each conference.’
An update on the Bills’ own unrestricted free agents
‘Of the 13 unrestricted free agents the Bills had entering the new league year, Gore is the fifth to sign with another club. Three have re-signed with the Bills, and five are still unsigned.’
Report: Veteran RB Frank Gore Signing With the New York Jets
‘Want another little tidbit that emphasizes just how long he’s been around? His son, Frank Jr., is kicking off his college career this upcoming season at Southern Mississippi (via Adam Schefter). If he makes an impression quickly enough and Frank Sr. can stick around for a couple more years, perhaps the two will be able to play in the NFL at the same time.’
