‘The Bills drafted Todd Collins, J.P. Losman and E.J. Manuel with early draft picks, and none of them started more than 35 games in their NFL careers. Trent Edwards, Cardale Jones and Nathan Peterman were later fliers who didn’t do too much — Peterman was actually historically bad. And there were veterans who came to town, as well, including Bledsoe, Doug Flutie and Ryan Fitzpatrick.’

Opinion: The 3-2-1: No apology necessary
‘Allen, Diggs, Brown, and Beasley with help from Gabriel Davis, Tyler Kroft, and (just like we drew it up) Reggie Gilliam, are finding the end zone routinely. This isn’t just something that means wins now, it creates a feeling that no game is over. It gives birth to a belief that the team can hang with, maybe, any opponent.’
Cuomo: I am ‘100% eager’ to get fans back at Bills Stadium
‘”I understand the plans they’re working on,” Cuomo said. “We have a complicated factor in Western New York because we have a higher infection rate than other parts of the state and we’ve had a caution flag up… I think it was 1.3 percent today. We’re trying to get the infection rate down. It’s something we’re looking at seriously.”‘
Bills announce no fans at home games for the forseeable future
‘Whether this means with certainty that there will not be fans at the Bills next home game on Oct. 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs remains to be seen.’
Josh Allen apology form starts making rounds on social media
‘Thanks to social media, those who went down the wrong path when it comes to Allen now have their chance to admit their mistake.’
McDermott on Allen’s growth: “You’re seeing what we’ve seen in practice”
‘“You learn through experiences,” McDermott said. “We as a team have learned through shared experiences.”’
How Tony Romo played a role in Josh Allen’s torrid start to season
‘Allen said he spent the offseason tweaking his mechanics with his coaches and offseason tutor Jordan Palmer – another former quarterback who works with several quarterbacks around the league – and Allen said that Romo wanted him to “feel your head is on a stake through the ground and you’re just trying to rotate it around and use [the torso] as an axis.”’
Are you not entertained?!
‘This is what we’ve all been asking for. Not just winning football games, but doing it by throwing the ball, scoring points, having a quarterback who gives you a chance every time he touches it. Being aggressive… and entertaining.’
Limited capacity crowd could be on the way for Bills home games
‘”I am comfortable saying now that the conversations I’ve had with the Bills and the state is a belief that 10%, which would be a little over 7,000 fans, would be safe. As long as you had time for entry and exit. Which means the game may end and you would not be allowed to leave until your section until your section is called.”‘
Bills hold on for thrilling 35-32 win over the Rams
‘The return of Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds to the Bills’ lineup was immediately noticeable in the first half. The Rams offense moved the ball well from the start of the game, but big plays from Milano, A.J. Epensea and Taron Johnson, haulted some of Los Angeles’ early drives, keeping the Rams off the scoreboard. Levi Wallace also stepped up, just as defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said he needed to earlier this week, and intercepted Jared Goff to stop another good series from the Rams. Goff and the Rams turned things around in the second half and really had the Bills defense on its heels. Los Angeles finished with over 400 yards of total offense. Certainly, Frazier and this group will have a lot to discuss as they prepare for next week.’
Bills’ third quarter performances continue to be concerning
‘The one thing that should really concern all of us, though – it appears the defense has taken a considerable step back as a group. They gave up 28 points to Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 2 and followed it up by getting gashed by Darrell Henderson, Jr. for over 100 yards on the ground, and 300 yards passing from Jared Goff, including an alarming 32 second half points.’
Josh Allen gets last laugh over Jalen Ramsey in epic Bills win
‘Ramsey held up his end of the bargain by only allowing one reception, however, that reception just so happened to be a touchdown to Stefon Diggs.’
These guys are good… scary good
‘Los Angeles basically shredded the Bills defense from that point on, as they scored 29 straight points on four drives over 18-and-a-half minutes. But Allen, a.k.a Mr. Fourth Quarter, guided the Bills down the field on a drive that included some big throws and some scary situations. Allen tried to do too much by himself moments. With Stefon Diggs having a quiet day and John Brown sidelined by an injury, Cole Beasley became the big playmaker in the passing game. He had receptions of 18, 22 and 19 yards. The 22-yard catch came on a third-and-22 play.’
Arrow Up/Arrow Down – Rams at Bills
‘I’ve been following the Bills since I was a child and I’ve never seen them give up a lead like they did on Sunday. But it wasn’t just the lead given up, it was how quickly and easily it seemed to happen. The Bills led 28-3 with 8:05 left in the third quarter. They were in complete control. They had a west coast team dead and buried, ready to send them packing early and want to get back home. But they gave up a quick 8-play drive for a TD, got intercepted (albeit on a controversial call), then gave up an even quicker 3-play TD drive, then went three-and-out. The Rams scored agin and the lead had basically evaporated. It was stunning, especially for a Sean McDermott coached team, a McDermott/Leslie Frazier coached defense, and an offense that could seemingly do whatever they wanted until things turned.’
Peyton Manning amazed by Josh Allen after watching film
‘“Look at this throw,” Manning says after breaking down an Allen throw to Stefon Diggs. “Wow. He’s got a guy that hits him as he’s throwing to keep him from finishing the throw. His own guy actually kind of hits him. It’s one thing to get hit by a defensive lineman, you’re getting hit by an offensive lineman. You got 600 pounds coming at you and he still hits Diggs in stride on a little 43-yard laser. Awesome play.”’
