‘Thanks, in large part, to the guy pulling the trigger, the Bills now have an offense that will give opposing defensive coordinators nightmares. The Bills are now the team where the opponent talks about needing to shorten the game against them, keep their offense off the field, and how field goals won’t be enough to beat them. Basically all the things we would say about other explosive offenses over the years.’

‘There are a few other new realities going on that everyone needs to get used to. Not just in Buffalo, but around the country. Heck, those outside of Buffalo probably need to get used to them even moreso because they either didn’t believe the change, weren’t paying attention enough, or flat out resisted it.’

‘I don’t know how hard it might have been for McDermott to choose this path. Remember, how we all may have felt about the style points, the Bills coach has been in the playoffs two years out of three. I have no idea if McDermott was resistant at all to turning the Bills into a passing machine, but continuing to favor a conservative approach certainly wouldn’t have been indefensible, especially to a defensive minded head coach.’

‘For the majority of the game, the Buffalo Bills found themselves in another wire-to-wire battle. But another fourth quarter resurgence led to a hard-fought victory on the road.’

‘The Bills ran for only 2.6 yards per carry. That’s not a really low number and one that would certainly be noticed a lot more if Josh Allen wasn’t throwing the ball so well and the passing game not carrying the offense.’

‘Prior to Washington, Norman had spent his first four NFL seasons in Carolina after the Panthers selected him in the fifth round (143rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Those four years were all spent playing under current Bills head coach Sean McDermott, who was the team’s defensive coordinator at the time.’

‘The Bills had a tough time stopping the run last week against the Rams, giving up 167 yards rushing and 5.2 yards per-carry. The big, physical Rams offensive line dominated them at the point of attack. The Raiders also have a big and physical line and are averaging 125 yards per game on the ground.’

‘The Buffalo Bills have released their final injury report of the week and defensive end Mario Addison was a surprise addition with a knee injury. He is listed as “questionable” for their game this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.’

‘“I’d be lying if I said we’re not aware of it. We are. I think that’s the important piece and that’s the piece that we can control. You hope that everything works out for the better at the end of the day. We’re sitting here trying to do the best we can and you just hope it turns out for the best.”’

‘The league has already rescheduled the Titans’ game with the Steelers to Week 7 of the season, which was originally scheduled to be Tennessee’s bye week. Pittsburgh’s Week 7 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens has now been pushed back a week to fit into the Steelers’ originally scheduled bye week.’

‘Wide receiver John Brown, left tackle Dion Dawkins, safety Micah Hyde, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson, and linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips were all listed as “DNP” on Wednesday, but all participated in some capacity on Thursday.’

‘Allen is the first Bills player to be named AFC Offensive Player of the Month since quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick earned the honor back in September of 2011, and only the second since September of 2002 when Drew Bledsoe won the award.’

‘Left tackle Dion Dawkins did not participate in the portion of practice open to the media. He was present, but wore a red jersey and worked off to the side.’

‘Allen was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty after complaining to an official that he believed he was brought down by a horsecollar tackle. (He was, but because he was inside the pocket it was not illegal.) He was also penalized for a facemask trying to fend off a tackler.’
