‘“Last year, my mental part wasn’t all the way there,” Addison said following Tuesday’s practice session in Orchard Park. “The year before, my baby brother got killed and it was heavy on me. Let’s be honest, my mind was on football, but it wasn’t on football. I was letting it control me.”’

‘It was really impressive from top to bottom. Josh Allen was pinpoint accurate, including connecting on a long pass down the sideline to Cole Beasley, who was actually covered very well by cornerback Dane Jackson. But the ball was dropped right into Beasley’s arms and there was basically nothing Jackson could do, despite being in a good spot.’

‘”Hopefully we can get something done this year,” Beane said. “Josh [Allen] knows him and I have had great conversations this spring, and summer, about it. He’ll play it out this year even if we can’t get something done. I promised him if we can’t get [an extension] done that we’ll pick it up as soon as we get to next offseason and try again.”‘

‘“We are in negotiations and conversations right now and we’re learning the full-scale of what they’re proposing,” Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said. “This is going to be a conversation that is ongoing but it is of utmost importance to our administration.”’

‘Matt Breida has really shown off his speed and quickness through the first four days. He works well in tight spaces, but also gets to where he’s going in a hurry. He could wind up being more of a factor in the offense than many anticipated when they signed him as a free agent in March.’

‘The Bills took Moss in the third round of the 2020 draft. In his rookie season he ran for 481 yards and four touchdowns averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Moss was also a pretty good weapon in the passing game picking up another touchdown there. He said that was all fine and good, but he’s been focusing at getting better, “I did a lot of good things last year and I did a lot of things I wasn’t so happy about last year, so I’m taking all those things and mashing them together and overall getting better.”’

‘While quarterback Josh Allen has been exceptional through the first three practices, he was a bit more inconsistent on Saturday and even had a couple of passes that probably should have been picked off. However, he still made some terrific throws, including one to tight end Dawson Knox in the back of the endzone for a touchdown just over multiple defenders. Knox did a great job to climb the ladder, grab it, and tap both feet inbounds.’

‘“We’ve got a great team here. The practices have been amazing,” Sanders said Thursday following practice in Orchard Park. “I mean, I’m playing with ‘Stef’ [Stefon Diggs] and Josh [Allen] and ‘Bease’ [Cole Beasley]. I mean, Josh made a throw that I haven’t seen. It was a post ball to Cole Beasley, I mean, it was crazy, mouth-dropping. I’ve been in the league 12 years; so I’m excited about what they’ve created out here.”‘

‘About midway through the session outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center, during one of the 11-on-11 team portions of practice, defensive tackle Ed Oliver and rookie offensive tackle Spencer Brown got locked up after a play. Punches were thrown, and Oliver ripped Brown’s helmet off. Then the 6-foot-8, 311-pound Brown dove on top of the 6-foot-1, 287-pound Oliver.’

‘Bills tackle Dion Dawkins and guard Ike Boettger are both on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and cannot practice with the club.’

‘It was the media’s first chance to see the newly installed turf inside the facility, complete with blue end zones and a big Bills logo at the 50-yard line. In fact, it’s all made to look and feel exactly like their home field at Highmark Stadium, including using the exact same type of turf.’

‘Beasley went on to say that he only wanted to be asked questions about football so that “we can put this to the side.”‘

‘”It’s not about a single person. We’re trying to win a championship, it’s about the group,” Irvin said. “There’s no way you can tell me we have a better chance as a group without getting vaccinated, as getting vaccinated. So if you feel that strong about it, I understand, but I can’t have you spilling that **** in the locker room.”‘

‘Last year, the Bills offense finished 13th in the league in red zone efficiency, converting 61.76% of trips inside their opponents’ 20-yard line into touchdowns. They were fifth-worst in the league (28th overall) at stopping other teams from scoring touchdowns, doing it only 65.28% of the time inside the red zone.’

‘The biggest question on offense is who will be the fifth starter along the offensive line.’
