‘With Tre’Davious White still on the physically unable to perform list, there’s been a battle going on for not only one starting cornerback spot, but both of them. And over the last week or so at training camp, three different players have seen a healthy rotation with the first unit. First round pick Kaiir Elam, third-year player Dane Jackson, and sixth round pick Christian Benford, who is squarely in the mix for the job. None have taken firm grasp of the role yet, and with the Colts expected to play their starting offense for several series, this would be a great test for this group to see who can emerge ahead after Saturday.’

‘Since his return, and particularly on Thursday, Crowder seems to have clearly re-gained not only his spot, but the confidence of quarterback Josh Allen.’

‘Other than guard Ike Boettger, who remains on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as he recovers from a torn Achilles, every offensive lineman on the active roster was in uniform and appeared to be a full participant.’

‘Gilliam has been with Buffalo since joining as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Gilliam was set to be an RFA in the 2023 offseason before signing this extension.’

‘The wide receivers were routinely beating the defensive backs in 1-on-1 drills from the start. It didn’t matter what route or who was running it, or who the quarterback was, it seemed like every player was beating their man and making the catch.’

‘I’m not sure the Buffalo Bills are in a position to be doing anything more than a “prove you’re healthy, then cash in later”-type deal with a receiver.’

‘According to both NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Poyer suffered a hyperextended elbow during Tuesday’s training camp session. However, the good news is Poyer’s injury is not expected to keep him out of regular season action.’

‘Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin, and Josh Thomas are the other listed safeties on the team, and all get work when either Poyer or Hyde are out. Cornerback Nick McCloud also gets some reps at the spot.’
