‘Obviously the wind had an impact on the game but so did the Bills coaching. They hurt their offense more than the Patriots defense did. The Bills coached the first half like they were afraid of their passing game but when they drafted Josh Allen, didn’t they do it in part because he had a strong arm and could still throw the ball when the weather turns in December and January.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Patriots at Bills
‘I didn’t understand the play-calling in the red zone, especially runs between the tackles after the Bills had moved the ball down the field throwing it, as well as putting Josh Allen under center when he had been in shotgun much more successfully. Allen didn’t help matters by just throwing up a pass because he thought the Patriots were offsides, essentially giving away a free play.’
Opinion: Capaccio: Patriots at Bills: Keys, notes, and stats
‘The Patriots have been terrific at insulating rookie quarterback Mac Jones and not asking him to do too much. Jones ranks 20th in the NFL with an average length of pass from the line of scrimmage to target of 7.54 yards. He ranks 26th with an average length of completion from line of scrimmage to target of 5.44 yards. The wind is going to be a huge factor in the game, with gusts of at least 40 mph expected. The Bills should make sure the Patriots can’t run the ball like they want, forcing them into situations where Jones has to make some throws to beat them.’
McDermott: Lotulelei, Brown ‘headed in a good direction’
‘Both players participated in practice inside the ADPRO Sports Training Center, but Lotulelei actually appeared on the team’s first injury report of the week as limited with an “illness” following the session. Brown did not have any injury designation, meaning he was a full participant.’
Opinion: Bills have to beat New England
‘We just got out of the old world, where every decision they made was brilliant. We just got out of a dark time, in which every single draft miss and free agent flop was quickly swept under the rug because they had some sort of mythical “#WAY” about them.’
Lotulelei, Brown off Covid list; Feliciano back at practice
‘Feliciano was placed on Injured Reserve with a calf injury back on November 6 and has missed the last four games.’
Opinion: How is freakin’ New England in first place in AFC East?
‘After a massive spending spree on skill position players and deciding to give the starting quarterback job to rookie Mac Jones, the answer is they’re getting enough to make it work. I’ve watched Jones play a few times this season and he doesn’t wow you but he runs their offense efficiently. He is most definitely a manage the game quarterback but sometimes that’s even too much for a rookie.’
Tre’Davious White out for season with torn ACL
‘White suffered his injury while trying to cover Saints wide receiver Marquez Callaway. The injury was of the non-contact variety.’
Bills feast in win over Saints on Thanksgiving night
‘On the defensive side of the football, the Buffalo unit shut down a depleted Saints offense, limiting New Orleans to just 190 yards to total offense. This included just 44 yards-against on the ground after Colts running back Jonathan Taylor ran all over the Bills for 185 yards and four touchdowns.’
Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Saints
‘The Bills only cashed in two of their four red zone trips into touchdowns, including getting no points at all after Allen had the ball deflected that became an interception.’
Opinion: Capaccio: Bills at Saints: Keys, notes, and stats
‘Even though the Saints gave up 242 yards rushing last week to the Eagles, they still come into the game with the third-best run defense in the NFL in yards per game given up (89.8) and the very best at yards per play allowed (3.40). However, they are 22nd and 25th, respectively, in yards per game and play given up through the air. The game will be played in a dome, a controlled environment. Weather won’t matter. Josh Allen and the Bills offense need to get back on track throwing the football.’
Listen: McDermott: We needed to give Sunday’s loss ‘its due’
‘”There’s a lot of necessary focus on what has happened this past Sunday,” McDermott said with Howard Simon and Jeremy White. “To just move on too quickly would’ve been irresponsible. We need to make sure we gave it it’s due.”‘
Marquez Stevenson practices for first time; opens 21-day window to be activated
‘If he is not placed on the active roster within the next 21 days, Stevenson will revert back to I.R. for the remainder of the season.’
First injury reports for Bills, Saints
‘It was good news for the Bills, as it appears starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is trending in the right direction. He was listed as a full participant at the team’s walk-thru.’
Bills can’t contain Jonathan Taylor, blown out by Colts in Orchard Park
‘The Indianapolis Colts running back dominated the day in Orchard Park with 204 total yards and five touchdowns, which included 185 yards rushing and four scores on the ground in a dominating 41-15 win over the Bills.’
