It’s also the same people who somehow, after just 6½ games, expect Allen to be performing like Jared Goff or Patrick Mahomes even though he has a fraction of the talent around him that those two are blessed to have.’

‘Although the field was repeatedly littered by yellow laundry, the Bills and Jaguars traded punches – at one point, quite literally – for well over three hours and Buffalo, in Josh Allen’s return to action, ultimately pulled out a 24-21 victory over Jacksonville.’

‘Let’s face it, Blake Bortles is brutal. He poses almost no threat as a passer, so I’ll temper my excitement about the Bills’ performance. He had 79 yards prior to the Jaguars’ late TD drive after Buffalo had taken a 24-14 lead and finished with 123 yards. True, some of his struggles were due to the Bills playing well, but honestly, the Jaguars were running so well, they really didn’t need to pass. Jordan Poyer and Matt Milano both had interceptions on passes that were tipped, so those were not entirely Bortles’ fault. Buffalo’s pass rush was strong late in the game, led by Kyle Williams who had 1.5 sacks.’

‘Buffalo ranks dead last in the NFL in scoring, Jacksonville is 29th. The Bills are 31st in yards per game, the Jaguars are 21st. The Bills are minus-7 in turnover ratio to rank 26th, the Jaguars are at minus-9 to rank 28th.’
