‘Specifically, the Bills need to be better against the run (16th) and in points allowed (18th), but taking it a step further, Pro Football Focus sees loads of room for improvement. In their advanced metrics, PFF graded the Bills as the 13th-best overall defense in the league (a far cry from second based on yards only), but had them 23rd against the run and 29th in tackling. Against the pass, PFF ranked Buffalo 10th in pass rush efficiency and ninth in coverage efficiency.’

Even though E.J. was gone he’s a guy that knows what we expect and how we expect it done. He knows the system to some extent. He offers position flex being able to play outside and being able to play inside. That nickel position is important. Kevin can do some of that as well and obviously with Taron.”’

‘“I feel fortunate that he’s able to come over and talk to us,” said Allen. “It’s always good to get new ideas, especially from a guy like Jim, a Hall of Famer who played at the highest level for a long time. Just kind of picking his brain, seeing what he did on film and actually being able to ask him what his thought process was on a certain concept. Football has not changed that much; they ran the same concepts that we still run to this day.”’
