‘Diggs will join forces with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was named the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.’

‘The trade comes a day after Diggs responded “You sure?” to a social media user’s declaration that he wasn’t essential to Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s success.’

‘The 30-year-old star receiver joins second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud and pass-catchers Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz in Houston. But is the move worth it for the Texans? And does it make any sense for the Bills to move on?’

‘There’s no doubt Diggs will go down as pivotal in Allen’s development, and the pairing brought tremendous success to the Bills. The rumors that Diggs could be a trade candidate have been around for some time and, although he remained committed to retiring as a Bill before the 2023 season and started the first six games on a historic pace, he turned in some of the lowest statistical games of his career from the middle to end of the year.’

‘The position remains a popular pick for the Bills in early projections, and is largely considered a deep position in this year’s draft class, although picking at No. 28 will present a variety of options for Buffalo — moving up, as Beane has done in recent years, is always a possibility. The Bills have not drafted a wide receiver in the first two days of the draft under Beane.’

‘Harris’ one season with the Bills ended in Week 6 vs. the Giants. He was taken off the field in an ambulance with neck and concussion injuries.’

‘Before last year with Kansas City, Edwards played four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. He started the most games — 12 — of his career in 2022. Edwards has recorded eight interceptions, including three pick-sixes, in addition to five fumble recoveries with one fumble recovery for a touchdown. His four defensive touchdowns since 2021 are tied for the second-most (Darius Slay, four).’

‘Guelli, who will start in mid-April, comes from his role as chief business officer of the New York Giants. Prior to his five years there, the 59-year-old served as the COO of the Charlotte Hornets. A Rochester, New York, native, Guelli has previously worked with the Bills as the team’s SVP of business ventures for over a decade (1998-2009).’

‘Johnson, 27, had one year left on his previous three-year contract extension, signed during the 2021 season. He was set to account for $12.41 million in cap space this year. The Bills have performed several moves this offseason to create more cap space with extensions among them. The new contract for Johnson comes a week after the Bills signed left tackle Dion Dawkins to a three-year extension of his own.’

‘Samuel is a logical addition to the Bills’ wide receiver room, which includes Stefon Diggs, after Gabe Davis departed for the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency. Buffalo is plenty familiar with what Samuel is capable of, as general manager Brandon Beane was part of the Carolina Panthers front office that drafted him in 2017, and offensive coordinator Joe Brady coached Samuel during the 2020 season in Carolina.’

‘The extension is worth $60.5 million, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and is expected to make Dawkins the fourth-highest-paid tackle in the league.’

‘The deal includes $10.5 million guaranteed.’

‘Allen was set to account for $47.056 million in cap space this year as part of the six-year contract extension that he signed just prior to the 2021 season. The Bills instead restructured much of his compensation for this year into a signing bonus, and he will now account for $30.356 million against the cap. Allen, 27, is under contract through the 2028 season.’

‘But since the first images of what the stadium could look like were shared with the public, the focus has been on the group of bison statues being placed outside of the new Highmark Stadium. In the Buffalo-area, the talk has been just how big the bison will actually be.’

‘Trubisky will be in line to back up quarterback Josh Allen once again after doing so in the 2021 season helped lead to an opportunity to compete for a starting role with the Pittsburgh Steelers beginning in 2022.’
