Per Sports Info Solution, the Bills were in zone 57% of the time in 2019, the 15th-highest rate in the league.’

‘Bringing in Diggs as the No. 1 receiver allows both Brown and Beasley to move into slightly more complementary roles. Brown will now likely be freed to work one-on-one on the outside, while Beasley will have even more space to operate in the underneath areas of the field. Add in the dynamism of Devin Singletary as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, and Allen is being placed in far better position to succeed heading into the third year of his career than he was as a rookie. He still has a ways to go before he’s anywhere close to being the type of quarterback who can overcome any deficiencies in his surroundings, so good on the Bills for making sure he has everything he needs while they’re able to spend enough to afford it.’

‘Gordon, meanwhile, was one of the consensus top running backs available coming into free agency. The former first-round draft pick saw a 2019 holdout backfire as reserve Austin Ekeler proved more effective for the Chargers, and he’s had an up-and-down career in between injuries, playing all 16 games just once over his first five seasons in the NFL. At 26, however, with a 1,000-yard season and plenty of starting experience under his belt, he could still be capable of a prominent role for a contender.’

‘Diggs’ frustration in Minnesota was often centered around the play-calling and quarterback play. There’s certainly reason to doubt whether that’s going to get better in Buffalo. The Bills did throw the ball 47 more times than the Vikings in 2019, but they completed 20 fewer passes. What I would say is there’s less known in Buffalo. I feel far more confident that Minnesota is going to be a low pass-volume team in 2020. Buffalo could conceivably let loose of the reins on Allen, who could take a step forward as a passer.’

‘Even before the extension talks with Cousins came to light, a Diggs trade has been running around the rumor mill for quite some time. Most recently, speculation about a potential deal to the Arizona Cardinals, who just acquired DeAndre Hopkins in a deal with the Houston Texans earlier on Monday, came to light when he was spotting working out in their teams gear. While he didn’t end up in the desert, Diggs is seemingly getting his wish to part ways with the Vikings organization.’

‘The Bills gave up several Day 3 picks in addition to their late first-round pick for a proven wide receiver who was almost definitely underutilized in Minnesota’s run-heavy offense playing alongside wide receiver Adam Thielen.’

‘Spain was part of a revamped offensive line for the Bills in 2019 that included Jon Feliciano, Mitch Morse and Ty Nsekhe. The Bills allowed 40 sacks in 2019, good for 15th in the NFL. They also helped quarterback Josh Allen’s ability to extend the play, which Spain played a huge role in accomplishing.’

‘The Bills have been linked to Norman for several weeks, with Bills general manager Brandon Beane even admitting at the NFL Scouting Combine the team talked to Norman, but expected him to seek other opportunities. Beane was the Panthers assistant general manager when Norman played in Carolina, so there was some more familiarity toward Norman signing there.’
