This group now includes returning defensive tackle Star Lotulelei (311-ish pounds), back after electing to opt out of 2020 due to COVID-19, and top picks Greg Rousseau (6-foot-6 with long levers) and Boogie Basham (uber-athletic at 6-foot-3) are already menacing in the early days of camp, portending big things for a unit that lacking pocket-moving might in some critical junctures a year ago.’

‘In a series of posts on his Twitter account on Thursday, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley laid into the NFL Players Association for the COVID protocols it agreed to with the league, which enacts strict protocols that must be adhered to by players who are unvaccinated. Per the NFLPA, unvaccinated players not only must wear masks and be subject to daily COVID testing, but also may not eat with their teammates, be subject to travel restrictions and not leave their team hotels, and are even forbidden from engaging in social media, marketing, and sponsorship activities.’

With Lotulelei and Vernon Butler, Buffalo has more beef on the interior, although the overall pass-rush ability of the defensive tackles — particularly outside of Oliver — is not a strength.’

‘Via SportsLine, the Buffalo Bills emerged as favorites to land Ertz based on a roster move the franchise made Tuesday. Buffalo converted $11,718,333 of Stefon Diggs’ base salary into a signing bonus, which created $7,812,222 in cap space for this season (per ESPN’s Field Yates). The Bills will have a projected $11.4 million in available salary cap space after Tuesday, giving them room to trade for a player like Ertz — Buffalo is +200 to land Ertz via trade or free agency.’

‘For the past three seasons, Buffalo has played the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. This is just a coincidence by the schedule makers, but an odd one that went unnoticed on the calendar. Buffalo played host to Tennessee in Week 5 of the 2018 season then traveled to Nashville during the same week in 2019 and 2020. The Bills’ matchup against the Titans was in jeopardy last year after Tennessee had a COVID-19 breakout that altered its schedule, but the game ended up remaining in Week 5 and played on a Tuesday — the league’s first Tuesday game since 2010.’
