Joe B: 5 things to watch for in Bills – Panthers (9/16/17)
'I believe this game will be a lot closer than Vegas, and some other people believe it will be. The way these two teams are built — and from the way they performed in Week One — this has all the makings of a low-scoring, defensive, close contest.'
Bills preparing for Newton, McCaffrey and talented Panthers backfield
'“I try not to compare two players. LeSean is such a talented football player, very elusive, his success and his resume speak for itself. I think that’s a known commodity,” Head Coach Sean McDermott said.'
The Big Story: LeSean McCoy Vs. Luke Kuechly
'“He can be moving one way full speed and suddenly change direction and be full speed,” the linebacker said. “It’s fun to watch and play against. You have to make sure you know what you’re doing. You take one bad angle or over run and he’s going the other way.”'
5 Questions with Shaq Lawson
'“I bought my mom a house. It’s something as a kid I always wanted to do. Make sure my family is right and when I got the check I went to go find my mom a house.”'
Top 10 reasons you won’t want to miss Buffalo’s showdown in the South
'Bills fans are the best fans and that’s evident even when the team is on the road. With Bills Backers Chapters all over North Carolina, Buffalo’s presence will be strong and ready to represent on Sunday. Time to circle the wagons.'
What they're saying: Bills-Panthers game predictions

Bills Today: Panthers rookie running back praises McCoy
'“Definitely, yeah I’ve seen a lot of tape on him. In college I probably saw every single run there is on him. He’s a heck of a player man, a guy that I look up to, and I’ve seen a lot of film on. He kind of blazed the trail for guys like us, he’s one of them. It will be cool to see him,” McCaffrey said.'
Saturday's Carolina Coverage
For McDermott, it's important to close the gap between coach and players
'McDermott doesn't have to walk very far for that interaction. In the normal layout of an NFL team's headquarters, the coach's office and the locker room are usually on separate floors, and the setup at One Bills Drive is no exception. However, soon after he arrived, McDermott had a secondary office built right next to the dressing room so he can be "more readily accessible, bringing in a player, having a coach in, and those are good dynamic-type meetings that I like to have in there."'
McDermott on Carolina homecoming: Bills players 'don't need to win anything for me'
'"That’s the wrong approach, that is 100-percent the wrong approach," McDermott said. "They don’t need to win anything for me. … that’s fair and reasonable to think (that players would want to win the game for him), but I would never want them to win one for the coach. Let’s just go out and do what we do and embrace who we are, and continue to get better.'
Bills Notebook: McCoy gets 'rest day,' dealing with sore groin
'McDermott said he was "very confident" McCoy not only would start Sunday, but also would be able to handle a full workload. McCoy had 27 touches in last Sunday's season-opening victory against the New York Jets, but did temporarily leave the game with what he described as numbness in his wrist.'
Jerry Sullivan: Bills need to take their scoring show on the road
'Taylor wasn't awful on the road last season. He had a higher completion percentage (62.2 to 61.2 at home). But his yards per attempt was more than a yard lower and he threw only five TDs away from home – as opposed to 12 at home. He needs to be more dynamic on Sunday and at least hold his own with Cam Newton for the Bills to pull off the upset.'
What They Said: Transcript of Bills head coach Sean McDermott
'They don’t need to win anything for me, I get where you’re coming from, that’s fair and reasonable to think. I would never want them to win one for the coach, let’s just go out and do what we do, and embrace who we are, and continue to get better. That’s really the process that I want us focused on.'
