'Brown, in his three seasons, has been decent but not shown the leadership expected from his position. Ragland, though highly coveted, hasn’t played an NFL down and is an uncertainty coming off a major injury.'

'In 2016, Anderson signed a one-year contract with the Bills as a reserve safety and special-teams contributor. His season ended on Oct. 10, when he was placed on the injured-reserve list with a hand injury.'

'“Right fit or not fit, he’s a good player,” Dennison said. “He throws the ball well and he’s athletic so he can do some of the stuff that we want to do when we move him out of the pocket. But I’ve had quarterbacks that aren’t as gifted that can still get that done because they have to defend the run, and obviously with the guys we have up front and LeSean McCoy, I think we can run the ball pretty dog-gone good. They will have to defend a lot of the field.”'

'In 1992, Castillo was a 32-year-old minority intern coach for the Bills when Bresnahan was their offensive coordinator/offensive line coach. Castillo spent about six weeks, the duration of training camp and the preseason, as part of the staff of Hall-of-Fame head coach Marv Levy.'

'"Yeah, it probably is not as raw," said Ryan, laughing when reminded of some of his comments. "I was still bleeding at the time. It was still very raw to me. As a competitor, I wanted to succeed. But believe me, I think the world of Terry Pegula and Kim. I didn't agree with it. I thought the team was close. It is what it is. I feel privileged to have the two years I spent in Buffalo and definitely was privileged to spend six years with the (New York) Jets as head coach."'

'The Bills selected Jones out of Ohio State in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He saw no action in the regular season until late in the third quarter of the season finale against the Jets. That was the game in which Tyrod Taylor was held out for business purposes to make sure he didn’t get hurt, and EJ Manuel got the start. Manuel played so terribly that Lynn, who was the head coach for that one game, inserted Jones.'

'Call me paranoid, but the Bills have scheduled two events at New Era Field in Orchard Park this training camp, a night practice at the stadium on Aug. 4 and a practice at their field house on Aug. 11. If it floats like a trial balloon and looks like a trial balloon, it’s a trial balloon.'
