‘“It was more just my core temperature was getting a little too hot, and I couldn’t really get a full breath in to slow my heart rate down as I usually do,” he said. “That – not being able to get your breath – kind of freaks you out, so you go into this whole hyperventilation state, and not being able to catch your breath still makes you breathe faster. That was concerning, so I told my coaches and they got me help. Then, the athletic trainers took over from there.”’
