QB Josh Allen’s deal restructured, Bills get $16.7M in cap room

‘Allen was set to account for $47.056 million in cap space this year as part of the six-year contract extension that he signed just prior to the 2021 season. The Bills instead restructured much of his compensation for this year into a signing bonus, and he will now account for $30.356 million against the cap. Allen, 27, is under contract through the 2028 season.’

Dion Dawkins contract extension: Bills extending left tackle with three-year, $60.5 million deal, per report

‘Dawkins previously signed a four-year, $58.3 million extension that covered the 2021 through 2024 seasons, and is headed into the final year of that contract. He carries a current base salary of $9.3 million along with a $16.6 million cap hit, according to Over the Cap, but those figures could change in conjunction with the new deal. The $20.17 million average annual value on Dawkins’ extension is fifth-highest among NFL left tackles, checking in behind only Ronnie Stanley, Andrew Thomas, Trent Williams and David Bakhtiari’s contracts.’

Bills sign left tackle Dion Dawkins to three-year contract extension

‘The team announced on Monday the signing of Pro-Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins to a three-year contract extension. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was first to report the extension, adding it’s worth $60.5 million, making Dawkins one of the highest paid tackles in the game.’

Bills bring back pass rusher A.J. Epenesa on two-year deal

‘The team announced on Monday an agreement on a new two-year contract with pass rusher A.J. Epenesa. According to a report from NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the base value of the contract in Year 1 is $7 million, with the potential of rising to $20 million over the two years.’

Report: Bills restructure contract for tight end Dawson Knox

‘According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler on Monday, the Bills have restructured the contract of tight end Dawson Knox, lowering his $14.4 million cap hit that was expected for the 2024 season. It is not known at this time how much the Bills are expected to save with this contract restructure.’

Report: Gabe Davis heading to Jaguars on three-year deal

‘Davis exits Buffalo after four years with the team, catching 163 passes for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns in the regular season. The 24-year-old was a former fourth-round pick (128th overall) of the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Central Florida.’

Opinion: It’s nothing personal, it’s strictly business

‘It shouldn’t have been that surprising, though. When you take into account the Bills’ nasty cap situation and other factors, including age of players, injury history, cap numbers and contracts for those three players, you could have seen all of this coming.’
