‘In Indianapolis this week, there’s fresh talent all around that could help the Bills at defensive tackle. Texas A&M’s McKinnley Jackson is familiar with Buffalo’s defensive line. Asked who he most likes to watch in the NFL, he looked toward Orchard Park. “I’d say (Washington’s) Daron Payne and Ed Oliver,” Jackson said. “I feel I can see myself in those guys. Quick, twitchy, powerful guys who can be game-changers.”’

Bills notebook: No franchise or transition tags expected this year for Buffalo
‘In keeping with expectations, a league source told The Buffalo News that the Bills will not use either the franchise or transition tags this year. The team has used the franchise tag just five times. The last time came in 2016 on offensive tackle Cordy Glenn – the year before Beane took over as general manager.’
NFLPA survey: Bills mostly rank well, but players cite three concerns
‘Players submitted anonymous grades from August to November in 11 categories and the Bills ranked 11th. A total of 1,706 NFL players participated, up from 1,300 last year. The Bills’ players gave a grade of A-plus, A or A-minus in four categories and only two grades of lower than C-minus.’
The Bills need a quarterback to back up Josh Allen in 2024. Here are some options.
‘If not one of them, the free agent QB market is filled with veterans who would fit well behind a QB who never misses games, guys like Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, Tyler Huntley, Carson Wentz, Gardner Minschew, Jake Browning, Tyrod Taylor and Marcus Mariota. But the salary range for them would likely land between $1.5 million and $5 million on a one-year deal.’
Bills ranked well in NFLPA survey: See all of their grades
‘They really like coach Sean McDermott and owner Terry Pegula (these were new categories this year) and they really don’t like the team’s travel situation, and the job it does advising on nutrition and diet.’
Mel Kiper Jr. adds WR who can take Buffalo Bills’ offense to ‘new level’ in mock 2.0
‘In Kiper’s first mock draft, Buffalo selected Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Mitchell checks a lot of boxes that the Bills will be looking for at the position, but the same can be said for his latest pick. This time around, Kiper selected a wide receiver that would arguably be the best case scenario for the Bills at No. 28.’
Extra COVID year and NIL money showing growing impact on Bills, NFL draft prospect pool
‘Ulofoshio is part of a growing trend of players remaining in school instead of jumping to the NFL early. Players in college when COVID-19 hit now have six years to play four seasons instead of five to play four and there is likely to be two more crops of draft pools with similar numbers as the COVID rules expire in 2026.’
Bills rank 11th in NFL in player friendliness according to NFLPA survey
‘Bills strength and conditioning coach Eric Ciano and the team’s weight room received the highest marks. Ciano was voted the second-best strength coach in the league, while the team’s weight room was ranked third and garnered the only A-plus vote.’
Opinion: Capaccio: 2024 State of the Bills: Defensive tackle
‘The first thing that jumps out about this group is the sheer number of pending free agents. Of the seven players who ended the season on the roster in some capacity, only two are actually under contract for 2024.’
Matt Milano, Tre’Davious White continue to rehab injuries
‘“I think it’s still early,” Beane said when asked if either would be ready for any offseason activities. “They’re still working through it. I don’t want to commit to that at this point. Both of them are in Buffalo, rehabbing, doing everything they can.”’
See where the Buffalo Bills ownership and facilities rank among other teams on NFLPA team report cards
‘In total, the Bills rank 11th out of 32 teams.’
What will the Buffalo Bills do with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde?
‘With Micah Hyde, the case is pretty simple. He’s a free agent and not under contract with the Bills past March. After two seasons with lingering injuries, retirement also seems to be on the table for Hyde. At the combine Bills general manager Brandon Beane told 7 sports Hyde has yet to make a decision, but he’s earned the right to take him time. As for Jordan Poyer, he has one year left on his current deal. But after a slip in production in 2023, it’s unclear if the Bills will want to keep him or move on to save salary cap space.’
Where the Buffalo Bills rank in the NFLPA survey
‘New this year were player grades for their head coach and ownership. The Bills scored high in both metrics, with coach Sean McDermott receiving an A from his players (12th overall by points) and owner Terry Pegula getting an A-, good for eighth among ownership groups.’
NFLPA releases Bills 2024 report card
‘In the overview of the Bills report card the NFLPA said that in terms of team travel, “less than half of the players who responded feel like they have a comfortable amount of personal space when traveling, which is the lowest for any team in the NFL. The players expressed frustration in their responses that the biggest people (the players) must sit in the smallest seats, while the coaches and auxiliary staff get to sit in first class.”‘
Carucci Take 2: With more cap space than expected, Bills’ chances to keep free agents could increase
‘For the Bills, that could prove to be the best possible outcome, even if it isn’t as exciting for fans as the addition of recognizable name from another team. Just as last year, when it was widely expected that Jordan Poyer would bolt in the open market before the Bills and the safety figured out a way to keep him, the team could be in position to hang onto one or more of the following: defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, defensive ends Leonard Floyd and A.J. Epenesa, and receiver Gabe Davis.’
