‘A runner-up to Bernard for the middle linebacker job after training camp and not the initial choice to replace Milano at weak-side linebacker in the Week 5 loss to Jacksonville (rookie Dorian Williams got the first chance), Dodson didn’t start until Week 8 … and hasn’t looked back. He is fourth on the team with 59 tackles.’

Scouting Report: Bills face an unknown following Chargers’ coaching change
‘Bills 38, Chargers 17.’
Bills-Chargers game on Peacock will be first with commercial-free fourth quarter
‘“We said, ‘Hey, let’s try and be innovative – what can we do?’” NBC Sports president Rick Cordella said during a phone interview with The Buffalo News on Thursday. “We can go to the studio to talk about Sunday’s games. We can talk in the context of the live game. The idea is, ‘Let’s stay on the action more than we typically would on a ‘Sunday Night Football’ game.”’
Bills Mailbag: If the offense stays hot, could another team poach Joe Brady?
‘Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer and tight ends coach Rob Boras have previously worked as the offensive coordinator at other NFL stops, but in my mind, if Brady were to leave the Bills would look outside the organization for a replacement. Brady has received head coaching interviews before when he was at LSU, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if a team asked to talk to him after the season – especially if the Bills can stay hot and go on a deep postseason run. As for Saleh, he’s shown he can really coach defense, but that entire organization has been poisoned by Aaron Rodgers. It seems like the quarterback likes his head coach, and since Rodgers seems to be calling all the shots, maybe that will be enough to save Saleh’s job, but I feel for Jets fans.’
Voice of the Fan: Buffalo Bills are charging so opponents better not poke the bison
‘The Bills have been sluggish, snoozing behemoths for most of hunting season with only flashes of their star power and brute strength to show for it.’
Buffalo Bills vs Los Angeles Chargers prediction and keys to Saturday night game
‘Sal’s prediction: Bills 26, Chargers 10.’
How to watch the Bills vs. Chargers game: It may be more difficult than you’re used to
‘But everywhere else in the region, including Rochester, if WGRZ is not available in your cable package, and you aren’t up to driving, there is no local TV broadcast; you will only be able to watch the game if you subscribe to Peacock. The cost to sign up is $5.99 per month, but there may be deals available.’
Time for Bills to take care of the ‘gimmes’
‘Of course, the Bills will only have themselves to blame if they end up short of the playoffs, and it’ll be because of games much like the one they face on Saturday in Los Angeles. On paper, it should be an easy one: a 5-9 team, without its star quarterback and many others that just lost so badly in primetime it prompted the firing of its coach and general manager.’
Bills not in the best spot, but could move into position this week
‘The Bills sit at ninth, though they are tied with the aforementioned three teams at 8-6. Buffalo’s 4-5 conference record puts it at the bottom of that tie. If Buffalo beats the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night, the Bills would be in the Top 7 and in a playoff spot, though they could be knocked back out with the combination of Sunday’s results. A Bills win would increase the odds to 76 percent and would be even higher if Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati earlier in the day).’
Bills vs. Chargers Week 16 will not be on TV: Here’s where you can watch the game
‘Bills vs. Chargers in NFL Week 16 will not be on TV. Instead, NBC’s Peacock streaming service has exclusive rights to the broadcast, and fans will need to subscribe in order to watch the game. Peacock starts at $5.99 per month or $11.99 per month for an ad-free viewing experience.’
Who should Buffalo Bills fans cheer for this weekend? The Week 16 games that matter most
‘This one may seem confusing at first glance, but Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic explained why Bills fans should be pulling for the Texans this week. It essentially comes down to Week 18 games where teams would knock their opposition out of a playoff spot.’
Five Takes: Bills looking to remain hot as they head for LA; Buffalo running game coming alive, Allen ascending at right time
‘Allen’s absence is a significant one for LA. The Chargers’ leading receiver has recorded over 1,200 receiving yards this season, nearly 800 more than the team’s second-leading receiver. Already at a disadvantage with its backup QB set to earn the start, LA will now be without the only viable receiving threat that Stick had at his disposal.’
Letdown game not likely when Bills face floundering Chargers with playoff aspirations in reach
‘Buffalo currently has a 63% chance to make the playoffs and have a better than 99% chance if they win their remaining three games, according to Upshot’s playoff simulator. Those odds drop below 30% if they lose to either the Chargers or Patriots and the Bills are aware, no matter how much they say only the next game matters.’

How the Bills escaped chaos and became a serious AFC contender again
‘As counterintuitive as that may seem and for all the scrutiny that Coach Sean McDermott, General Manager Brandon Beane and the locker room have endured since the spring, it’s not so far-fetched that this Buffalo team could be the one to break through and reach the Super Bowl for the first time since the conclusion of the 1993 season. If the Bills can actually get to the playoffs, of course. Which is the rub of all rubs.’
